I'm new to your channel, but I've already watched a bunch of your videos. This one is my favorite. It's fun and funny, but I also learned a lot. Thank you!
Oh you are a breath of fresh air Lydia. I used to paint portraits and stuff in oils, but for health reasons I needed to change my medium. I had always hated acrylics for traditional painting, so via UA-cam, I also discovered fluid art, I spent the last 12 months making a few decent pieces and messing up many more, for me as a vertically challenged woman, I used to get my boobies in the paint, not my hair, I have interesting looking T shirts ha, ha. I sold a few paintings, but now I am bored with it so I am experimenting with different acrylic abstracts, hence I finding your very inspirational page of your wonderful art. You entertain and you teach, what more can this Brit ask for 😉😂Cheers 😬
Jumping in on a big canvas with texture I used Coquina and the gel medium and then I just owed it. I am going crazy since I’ve been watching your channel Lydia you are inspiring me to jump out of my box girl. Thank you so much I have never done a mixed media painting in my life, and I am so excited.
We are similar in our comedy and quirkiness. You are inspiring me to try textures. I do wood and resin art now. I will try adding this into it. Thank you for sharing!
I am so gosh darn happy I found you just now! Love your creative sense of freedom, your mind and your humor and how you show and tell your processes. I really can't express my level of appreciation right now. Being in the process of trying acrylics for the first time with oils over top and just plain loosening up, all I can say is, for me, you came along at just the right time lady! ☺
I have just come across your videos, and love them! I love your sense of humour and how you explain what you’re doing when you create things. Very inspiring! Thanks for sharing yourself with us! Looking forward to watching more of your videos :)
Another new fan! - Sorry I didn't find you sooner into my creative block while stumbling over or looking at a pile of dutch pours & wondering what else I could do with them! *Thank you* Lydia, for sharing your talent, wisdom, most all - your humor. What a gift you are, to so many! You have given me courage, and permission to "let go", loosen up, heed the creative and turn off the intellect! And yes, exactly as reialuz19 said... your authentic honesty makes me want to love myself a little more, too! - Thanks for all you do!
I have done that! not with painting b/c i am just learning. But when I am making other ambitious projects, quilts or stained glass pieces that are large and complex my head is so far ahead of my hands that I am mentally done. I have to grit my teeth and push through. Sometimes long, long, long work sessions are the only way to finish. I love this channel.
Omg your a straight up trip and we are so much alike lol ! I also have a bunch of half finished paintings and also tried the whole fluid art thing ! Seriously u are sooo talented and I am so glad that I found you. New subscriber for sure
Leave it to you to take an amazing technique and turn it into something even more amazing. (I’d be embarrassed to say how many acrylic pouring videos I’ve watched - it’s mesmerizing). I promise - I will stop commenting on all of your old videos sometime soon. But I just found you and, what can I say, I’m a bit obsessed. 🙄. If I could only turn my fascination into action and actually try painting something I might get somewhere. Ok, I’m done for now. Thanks for putting up with me.
Thank you Lori!!! I'm trying to keep up with my comment section and answer everyone... I'm sorry if I miss any or if my responses are delayed. But please don't hesitate to continue commenting. I do read every single one!❤❤❤
I love this. I have just discovered your videos on You Tube and really enjoying your creativity and entertaining presentation skills. I really wasn’t interested in acrylic pouring at all until I watched this. Thank you very much.👍
Yes! I am bored with my process. Thank you! The ugly stage in the middle causes me to drag me arse. I also realized that the only one who can see the image in my head I'm trying to perfect on canvas is me! Nobody else know I've fallen short so like---give it up. Right?
I really love what you are doing and your energy! I am also painting. Although I went for another professional path, the weird Covid-19 years made me start painting again *a lot* (oil painting, portrait, classical technics). Your videos are really inspiring, among other to let go a bit more the self-imposed pressure to achieve a certain result. Continue, you are great :) Cheers from Brussels (Belgium)!
You are amazing. I have started watching pour videos to start myself working again. Also you are funny and punny. I have this thing where I create in my head works about pears and derivatives. I have see more. .
OMG I'm giggling listening to your self convesrsation...so true. I've just found your channel and have been binging your content while sidelined due to my wonderful child sharing their gastro bug of doom...
@@lydiabroderick867 Thank goodness we are all better now. That was not pretty at all. Definitely not the way I wanted to spend my time, but hey, at least I discovered a new youtube channel!
Hello Lydia, I’m glad I stumbled upon your channel. I admire your art and creative process and I finally found someone that I share the same thinking process and techniques with. So much in love you all the paintings I watched 😉🙌🏻
So... I managed to get right back to the beginning. Video 1. And you started just the way you aimed to continue... poe-sing a question and ending up with a gourd-geous painting. Girl, you have lots of poe-tential to paint poe-tent paintings. Keep poe-ring! And poe-sing as your alter ego. Poe-ny up all your paint tips for us poe-r artists! (Okay, time to poe-ke my head under the sheets and Nevermore to bother you this night my fearsome poe-etic friend.)
@@lydiabroderick867 I had great inspiration... (besides my back has been seized up for a few days and I can nothing but sit... so I get to think up silly responses!) Have a lovely Sunday. No sun here though. 😞
Thank you so much for inspiration!❣ 😍 Do you not risk to ruin the painting over time when you don't use any floetrol/you use too much water in acrylic paint? I would love to try it too!😅👍 I love all your videos - you are so talented, in so many ways!🥰
ok if you aren't an actor or standup YOU SHOULD BE! add that to your list of talents! Great stuff Lydia, thank you!
Thank you so much!!!💖☺
You are so incredibly talented. Not just your creative art but preforming art too. This has made me laugh out loud. Thank you!
That was fabulous to watch. You are too funny and so talented……😂❤
LOVE YOUR WORK AND ADVICE! Found this at the perfect time! Your sense of humor is great & refreshing! Thank you for sharing! ❣️
I love this! The annoyed, centered Lydia is great. Her accent reminds me of someone, can't put my finger on it... :)
I have only just watched this - Lydia, you are just hilarious!😂

You should become an actress. You have an acting face and acting talent.
There's an Edgar Allen Poe Netflix show based on the House of Usher being made right now...so says Shane from the slightly distant future :)
So funny
