The only track that I wanted back for the Booster Course Pass was Moonview Highway. While it took a while, I'm so glad that it not only did come back, but that they did the visuals and music of the track justice.
@@3JAD21 I already predicted it wasn’t coming for the longest so I’m happy I was wrong and it replaced a nitro instead of a retro. Me personally I would’ve preferred Dry Dry Ruins but Moonview Highway is still my 4th favorite Wii track and my second favorite Wave 5 track after Athens Dash so I’m still really happy that that ended up being the placeholder track and not something else lol
It's actually pretty interesting that the roles of the music are flipped around. I would've expected the synth part to take place in the loud, busy city, and the jazzy part to be in the serene outskirts of the city. That's what I love about this track. When you really think about it, it goes against expectations and still does it really well!
Looking past the fact you can’t really hear what used to be the main melody this is probably the legit best remix in the wave. Also, gotta love how cleanly the drum solo transitions to the non-city variant. 1:45
Been waiting for the medley to go live! Now, I can get to fully experience the same feeling of how music uploaders transitioned two versions of the original.
@@kingkoopa64Not quite. I might be mistaken, but I think the main theming about that game has a heavy use of trumpets instead of a saxophone as the main melody. Though, the xylophone part at 1:12 reminds me a bit of "Looting the Louvre" or some other tracks.
Así que te diste cuenta pues la versión original tenía esas referencias a la música de minijefe de Kirby está hecha así a propósito buen oído mi estimado
I had the dumbest smile on my face the entire time during this course, and it just got wider when the city part kicked in (They did tone down the chaos by reducing the cars, which was disappointing. But the rest of the course more than made up for it)
I really doubted I’d prefer a remastered version over the original, since for me at least, the OG version has a legend status. That drum solo proved me wrong.
I don't know how to explain it but both versions of this theme feel like they are straight out of Pokemon Black and White. I'm not complaining because both are absolute bangers
They took the non-city part and turned it into eurobeat, it’s actually sick. And the city part is awesome too. Calm and Jazzy, it’s perfect. Prefer this soundtrack over the original, just like with the recent Wii Rainbow Road music remake, the only thing that would make this track better is if they just ADDED MORE CARS.
I lost my mind when I found out this course was going to be added. It has been my favorite for years and I wasn’t expecting the remake of the song to be this good. I am pleased
Four months ago, I dropped one of what’s probably my worst takes on the Internet. I remember saying on a comment section somewhere that with a course that looks “this good”, who cared about gameplay quality? Four months later, I realized I was very, very wrong. The courses looks *and* plays great at the same time!
Genuinely over the moon(heh) that this course sneaked its way into the Booster Course Pass. I'm glad Schaffrillas was wrong, and I'm sure he's glad he was wrong, too. And this medley is great! Reincorporating the City ver. drum fill as a lead-in, b-e-u-tiful!
@@CuberBeats I think I remember actually Punch City being in CTGP but I felt like it was a location in a Wario game or something lol Then again that’s Diamond City
I will not upload the frontrunning and final lap versions on UA-cam. It's taking too long to make all the videos and my page will be blown up, and so do the notifications from people who have them on. I will upload the other versions to Google Drive when there is a better rip of the music out tomorrow or later
You got to be joking right? As someone who grew up with the original Mario Kart Wii i gotta say they honestly outdid the original track. However it's still a bop to listen to the original regardless
I can't believe both versions are so good on their own ways MY GOD
Best race of the new DLC ! 😄
I just cannot believe how HARD the non-city part goes
Dude. Your right!
Non city???? The city part goes WAYYY harder my friend. The sheer skill on that sax is insane.
@@jagerzaku9160Have to agree with you. Love how it sounds jazzy
City part somehow goes harder though
@@jagerzaku9160 on lap 3 the city part goes hard af, but the non final lap city theme doesnt feel right imo, idk why
Nintendo truly went all-out by leaving the city variant as a massive surprise, and then blessing us with jazzimus maximus.
that drum solo at 1:45 is just so damn gnarly
Yep
gives me whiplash vibes
You can say it : its a banger !

Ya got lucky as hell because this one was pretty much a last minute decision on Nintendo’s part

People dont talk enough about the city part, its like sitting on a chair drinking tea being calm while everything around you is on fire.
Holy shit hearing this for the first time and the transitions gave me goosebumps, the non-city version is so damn good 😩
Nintendo really loves Jazz 😄
Man the retro track for the course is much detailed and its shinning bright at night. And the music has a awesome drum solo. 0:56 and 1:45🥁

Same!
The city version sounds like a rhythm thief track.....so freeform jazz like and I love it

Both are so incredably amazing holy shoot
words cannot describe how much i love playing on this course
I just realized at 0:51 its the same drums never gonna give you up uses

I won’t lie, this actually sounds a LOT better than the original- So catchy and hectic, which perfectly matches this track’s vibe!!!

That vibraphone hits 🫨
Highway section: Frantic and upbeat
City section: Chill and jazzy
nintendo had no right to make 0:17 go so hard
Holy shit this is the new best song in the game hands DOWN.
Best mario kart track theme nobody can say otherwise
Nintendo had no right making this remix go THIS hard
I’ve always wanted Moonview to return and this song just hits DIFFERENT 👏
Better too 👌
Moonview highway but more Banger, holy Shit!
I'm not the only one who hears Digga Leg's theme from Mario Galaxy 2, right? (It was also used for King whomp as well in the same game)
where?
No The percussion organ gives me those vibes as well.

Jetpack Joyride Type Beat
They are both jazz and in the key of c minor so i can see the similarities lmao

My personal favorite from Wave 5 if you ask me.
Now this is MUSIC!!!
this song plays in every gamers mind when they start speedrunning a game
Normal version: Kirby vibes
City version: Persona vibes
all Mario Kart were made Childhood
My GAWD they didn’t have to go so hard on the live performance remix of *_-Punch City-_* Moonview Highway!

Sounds like a soprano sax
The Wii version is a clarinet
sounds kind of like sonic music
Wrong its sonic that sounds like this
Honestly sounds like a Cuphead fight
I can't hear the original melody at 0:05-0:18 that clearly anymore. I think I prefer the original version.
It’s definitely there, but I agree that it’s very subtle and hard to hear compared to the original. That’s my only gripe with the non-city part
I can hear it
I can hear it just fine with headphones, whereas the chords and percussion really overtake it on my phone speakers

The original TRACK is better, but the Music in Mario Kart 8 blows the Wii version’s music out of the water completely.
