McDonalds is depressing. The 2000's anti-fat campaign destroyed it. Like some brands, they tried evolving with their best customer base: 80's and 90's kids. The problem is their choices, thinking that pop culture wouldn't speed up. They are trying to become "posh" and "cultured". In doing so, they took away what made the place fun. The play palaces are now 1/4 the size. They are the equivelent of a "kindergarten specific playground" that is extremely small, and doesn't actually make the kids active. I just took my 8yo to McDonalds, and said "one last time before you're too big!"
What used to be a playground ROOM is now a playground corner. They've lost what made them big.
Kids. We were told "we'd always have a friend wearing big red shoes".
A lie, and as customers began hearing more and more about their "broken ice cream machine" contracts, we lost our trust entirely.
I take my kids there like once every 6 months. They ask, I agree. Get it out of their system.
If they had just focused on the ASICS, and kept quality of the FOOD up, nobody would care if the accent lighting is perfect, or that the colors are "soothing and calm".
It was also to try and push their coffee. That brown elicited aromic thoughts, and coffee is aromic and brown like the walls.
When they started to spend tens of millions on psychological marketing, they lost the plot

Yes, instead of paying 10 bucks odd for a burger that's gone in 3 mouthfuls, I prefer to go to a local family owned takeaway for a burger with the lot for just 2 or 3 bucks more, it's better quality and very filling

It's amazing that during this period of financial hardship and cost of living constraints, there are folk willing to purchase "food" that is not only low in nutritional value but far more expensive than purchasing fresh and preparing the food oneself.

Agreed. Used to see queues flocking to McDonald's Brisbane railway station when opposite was a lunch bar selling healthy fresh wholemeal bread sandwiches at half the price of a burger but the sandwich bar had few customers. Sadly it closed down.
It's a hundred miles (160km) to town. When I have to go to town, it means an early start to leave before 6am winter, 5am summer - no time to cook the standard issue breakfast and wash up.
I changed to Subway in 2022, but there is only one single Subway in town now, and it's the most dirty and run-down Subway I've ever seen all across Australia in any state or territory (except ACT), and it's the most expensive for a B&E 12" @ $13.90, and the staff are arrogant pigs, so I just said, "Flock It!" and went across the street to McDonald's, because it's cheap and tasty sauce and once a month, even though there is no 'Mac' in McDonald's..

There was a time where maccas fails was hungry jacks gain 😂. After the cv happened. Mecca's was disappointing. The patty only covered half the burger, no sauce, dry, burnt and the OJ was like water. They could not use the cv as an excuse cos across the road, hj have their burgers filled and OJ was not water. Last time I went, kid was interested in something, we found they had items on the menu thay the manager was clueless it was on there and was no removed. Kid was disappointed and the customer service was disgraceful. Saying they are just kids working there, is no excuse either, since the other places have kids also
I have learned not to eat stuff with a 'shampoo bottle' type of ingredient list. I hardly beleive that any ultra processed food should ever be called food. I've heard UPF's referred to as "pre-digested food-like substance"

If McDs wants to come back - automate everything, drop the prices (SIGNIFICANTLY) rejigger your recipe for better fries. A hamburger ($1.25), large fries ($1.85) and large soda ($1.85) should not be more that $6.00 at a McDs. Those are the numbers - otherwise just sell the real estate. Now they could venture out into extra large fies (twice the fries for 30% more, deep fried pies (under $1) and tripple burgers ($2.25) if they like as well as coffee and steamed danish and cinnabons for breakfast - but don't do that nonsense of bugers only after 11 AM - that is what people think of first and if they are getting done with the night shift they don't want a cinnabon, they want a burger. People aren't got to McDs for a tofu burger, goosebury yogurt and a kelp salad. Know your f'n audience.

Here in Norway the quality of the meat here is so bad that the vegan burgers often taste better then the real meat ones... But the vegan burgers is very unhealthy full of artificial chemicals and unhealthy additives.

We have great plant based burgers in Sweden that are really great even Swedish McDonald and Burger Kings and I our local MAX have good plant based burgers and I'm not even a vegan, I love meat but I eat everything that tastes good.

Easiest way to cook hamburger and its great. Flatten out on a corelle dish. Heavily salt and pepper, do not preheat oven but toss it in 350 for 40 minutes. Its the best and so easy. If i want to get fancy I'll add peppers garlic maple syrup on top. Don't eat mc crap. Buy local real food.
