Growing up here in Ireland in 1998 at 12 years old the Canterbury Crusaders became my team for then on. Stormin' Norm Berryman was a big part of that. Legend through and through!
Thank you for sharing I played with Norm for Marist in Whangarei it was an honour. See how many international players he carved up. #MEANMAORIMEAN #RESTEASY #FUNNYSMILE
Legend. Crossed paths with Norm at age group and club level with never a good result for me. What a guy. Enjoyed playing the game more than anyone. Cheers for including the interviews to show his personality. Gone too soon but never forgotten in Northland.
I went to school with Storming Norman as we all culled him I allso played Rugby with him at whangarei boys high school he was a top bloke even when we were kids growing up
Thanks for uploading this. Berryman was so quick and powerful. Loved his interactions with the crowd. Approachable and humble a true fan favourite. I'm here after reading Wayne Smith book and Norms time in the Crusaders team. RIL
He should have played a lot of games for the ABs. He didnt fit Laurie Mains required player profile however which is a damning indictment of Mains. A good coach woud have recognised his quirks and utilised his genius. A great Northlander!!
@@jamesquinn7484 He did pick him but there was some sort of falling out at an early training and legend has it that Norm said fuck you and hitched home from Wellington!!
I remember when Normans Oldman use to train us for the otaika rugby league club....last time I seen Norman was at a birthday party in horeke utakura...
Met Norms dad 2yrs ago in Huntly took a family friend of ours from Hastings to see him they used to live in Wellington n played tennis together man what a funny guy his dad is 😂 n saw photos of Norm on the wall his whole family was league players except Norm n there was a photo of his brother who died pretty much the same problem Norm had n then the sister after Norm😢
