had this kit sit in my closet for 12 years before i touched it. this one and gundam G-self perfect pack were my first 2 gunplas ever. ...now im up 30+ models LOVE IT!!!
I’ve had this kit built for more than 10 years now. I recently (just last year 2023) I bought an upgrade kit for this kit from the P-Bandai website. It also contains upgrades for the MG Tallgeese 2 and the MG Gundam Altron (aka Gundam Nataku). The upgrade kit is based off of the Manga Glory Of The Loosers and it gives this kit extra pieces to upgrade the scythe into a dual beam scythe and claws that replace the side skirts. It’s a cool design and upgrades are cool too.
I built this back in 2015 or 2016 and I definitely skipped the part where i could attach the base adapter to the backpack... I was thinking of buying a new one though, since I got the Pbandai Altron, Heavyarms Kai, and the Custom Sandrock so might as well go all new here.
its bit jank being an older MG but theres something fun about these older MG models i really like. my fav MG kit is still the A1 Zeta Plus i been trying track down another kit of its just so hard to get.
I want to build this one so bad. I would also love a new HG and even an RG. The RG Wing kits have been so good, but it seems like they mainly do protagonists and rivals/main antagonists.
So I guess it was around 2004 when they dropped the "Custom" from the Endless Waltz designs; Deathscythe-Hell's box clearly says "Gundam Deathscythe-Hell", and that was 2011, whereas the first MG Wing ZERO was in 2004, and the box & manual simply said "Wing Gundam ZERO", like they ain't even take their shortcuts anymore ("W-Gundam ZEROCustom", "Gundam D-Hell/H-Arms Custom")...😮😮😮 Checked the USA Gundam Store link...there's a reissue of this coming!? Now I'm gonna have to hunt down Sandrock Custom, Heavyarms Custom, Altron, and Wing ZERO "EW ver.Ka"...and I still need to get the HGAC Sandrock!!
I'd have loved to see a comparison to the old 1/100 HGFA version.. I've seen a few other comparisons with the old ones in places, but the 1/100 ones are closer, in appearance, than the 1/144 where corners were cut due to the scale
@@yuuyuuyuu4661 it's not easy. The way I got it was to have the action base connector attached to the base a bit crooked to make the connection tighter. It's a bit sketchy, but it works.
I thought for sure you must have reviewed this kit before, sometime in the however many years it's been. Maybe the regular DS? Rousette? (The latter, apparently.) I wonder what your thoughts would be on the old 1/100. Personally, there are some aspects to the EW MGs that irritate me (those ball-joint skirts) that I find a lot more pleasant to work with on the old HGs. But that only really matters when you've built multiples of each design in both grades over and over again over the course of two decades. 🤣
Why was it that the MG Deathscythe Hell got a retail release when every other upgrade (Heavyarms, Sandrock, Altron, HG Deathscythe Hell) in every other grade was made P-Bandai exclusive?
The Custom name make no sense, EW design is just alternative TV design. You don't call TV Deathscythe Hell the Deathscythe Hell Custom, right? Where did that come from?
Easily the worst kit that uses the EW Gundam frame Idk why this kit has so many loose parts when all the others are mostly solid Even base Deathscythe EW doesn't have the problems that this kit does.
"Even base Deathscythe EW doesn't have the problems that this kit does." False. The backpack is different, and this one has extra attachments for the forearms. Every other piece is literally identical. You probably sanded or cut something a little too much.
@@simpleanswer8954 Not true. My Deathscythe Hell is purely straight assembled. Hell, I had to tighten the ankles 3 times with nail polish because of how loose they are And the skirt pieces fall off way more than Base Deathscythe
@@GojiraFan-in9oo Then you did something wrong. This isn't a subject for debate. The kit is exactly the same. Those parts came from the exact same mold. Ah, yes. A relic from the days when MG releases were frequent, varied and high quality.
I mean they're even more high quality now. Like waay more.
The worst wing MG release too many loose parts

@@Jhn-yl3xx Not on mine. Not a problem at all. Even if it were a problem... I have this magical model building substance called GLUE.
i have fondness for early 2000's MG kits and most of gunpla line really my top kits are MG A1 Zeta Plus, and PG MK. II
One of my sons who’s not really into gundam chose this one purely because it looked cooler than anything else. He wasn’t disappointed

Finally!. Waiting for MG Ver. Ka of this kit.
Very unlikely it’s gets a ver ka but we can hope
Literally JUST ordered this kit, stoked to see you post this review!
The MG Deathscythe Hell is truly a fan's dream! 🚀👍
This was the first kit I purchased from USAG, in person, about 5 years ago.
Nice review! I think I’ll finally pull the trigger on getting this. Always wanted it but just never did. Will make a great addition to my backlog…😅
that was my first MG kit so its obv special to me, expensive but worth it
Definitely my favorite suit from GW: Endless Waltz!
When you see that the chest and shoulders look like the head of a bat, you cant unsee it
Classic MG. Can't go wrong with it.

I finished building this kit last week, but I don't know why the shoulder part is tough to pull up and push down.

Because it's not a custom by any mean. This Deathscythe Hell is just the alternative ver of the TV Deathscythe Hell. Or you can call it Ver.KA.

Edgelord Gundam before it was cool
You must be new because Deathscyth has always been cool.
Are you planning to put the waterslide decals on this kit?
You should do Epyon next and a small comparison with its smaller RG cousin
It has an Expansion Weapon kit (bundled with MG Altron's Wing&Dragon tail, and Tallgeese 2's Heat Long Sword)
are you referring the glory of loosers expansion?
@ChrisTian-sd5yq yep
I have that expansion set. I bought it last year from the P-Bandai website for about $50 dollars after shipping and taxes.
I built the Deathscythe EW. Awesome kit 😎👍🏽
loved this kit, i call it batman gundam
I have mine posed hanging upside down like Batman 😂
@my5head great idea, will try this

Man, your Death Scythe hell it is insanely good. How did you get the wings to stay on correctly?
Can you review MG epyon?
I wish there's official MG for the TV version. The one from DM seems pretty cool but the building process not so fun i heard.
Would it be possible to modify the hg deathscythe wings to fold like the mg?
Anything is possible with enough effort
Really love endless waltz design.hopefully Bandai will release all EW gundam in rg version. This one looks cool too,but Mg just took too much space.
Why was it that the MG Deathscythe Hell got a retail release when every other upgrade (Heavyarms, Sandrock, Altron, HG Deathscythe Hell) in every other grade was made P-Bandai exclusive?
My only problem with this is it's weak ankle joint. 😅
Dude what if it got STEALTH-SWAT GEAR!?😂 and kept the scythe as "oh snap" weapon
The Custom name make no sense, EW design is just alternative TV design. You don't call TV Deathscythe Hell the Deathscythe Hell Custom, right? Where did that come from?
Just the way it was presented back when endless waltz came out.

it may be an edgelord-looking Gundam but its pilot is not but a chill guy, lol.
The reason your hairline is rapidly receding is because you keep throwing the boxes... keep throwing them and you'll be bald soon.
Hmm, makes sense to me! 👍
Worst kit ever for me, I've had it twice and both of them broke at the shoulder slot, am afraid to buy it again even though i like it a lot
Yeah definitely a you problem.

So good Bandai gave a cease and desist.
