Youll like the EZ Mil song and maybe one other but you'll see the album gets repetitive with Chris Reeves, Jenner, Gen Z, and Diddy disses. The project as a whole/story is probably the best since Encore and has relisten value as an album but as individual songs only Fuel and the EZ Mil song have replay value in playlists.
I think its more that Eminem cant for the life of him match the energy. It seemed like it by the ”for a couple of decades” but in good modern eminem fashion he destroys the vibe for a semi-interesting bar that honestly didnt need to be said.
My guy, JID literally had a septendecuple entendre (17 meanings): "In the pocket, the rocket like Kelly mom". 1. Literal: Holding a rocket (weapon) in a pocket. Something a lot of gang members do for quick retrieval 2. Football reference: "In the pocket" relates to a quarterback's protective area, with "rocket" as a powerful throw (JID played college football and used these football references all the time throughout his discography) 3. Refers to former NFL player Jim Kelly's mom. Jim Kelly was a quarter back. The "pocket" refers to the area where a quarterback stands behind the offensive line to pass the ball. Jim Kelly's mom was well known for being protective and supportive of her kids and "kept them close to her pocket", further playing on the gun/unseen support theme. 3. Kellen Mond is a quarterback for Texas A&M college known for his ability to navigate the pocket well, and who has publicly praised JID, is from the sams city, and listens to his music regularly. 4. The Houston rocket's mascot is Clutch the Rocket, and his mom's name is Kelly. Clutch the Rocket is known for pulling out props from his pockets in his skits. 5. Rap skill: Having powerful lyrics ("rocket") ready at all times. JID is also well known and for already having diss tracks for nearly every major rapper in the industry, as well a few underground rappers, already written and pre-prepared as a way to stay prepared/ready at all times for beef. This has been noted by several members of Dreamville, J Cole, and even JID himself, further playing on the gun/staying ready without being seen theme. 6. Drug reference: "Rocket" is common slang for drugs, kept hidden. 7. Gun Reference: Keeping a "rocket in your pocket" is also a common street saying for being strapped at all times with a gun. 8. "Kelly mom" is a homophone for "Kill Imam". Many imams in the Muslim community were notably targeted and killed by individuals with seemingly innocuous guns that were hidden and pulled out at the last minute for assassination. Further plays on the gun/staying ready theme. 9. Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq was characterized by its authoritarian rule and repression of the Imam Shiite groups and other religious leaders ("Imam" refers to a religious leader in Islam, particularly in Shiite contexts.) who notably maintained that power via a strong arsenal rockets they could willingly deploy at any time. Further plays on the rocket/staying strapped theme. 10. Many Imams leaders throughout the years to this day have been killed by individuals with innocuous guns readily at the hip. The killers often had the guns hidden at their hip near their pockets. Further plays on the pocket/hip/gun theme. 11. "pocket Rocket" is a slang term for penis in America, and Pocket Rocket is also a slang term that slightly older women use to describe themselves as small but jam packed with energy and dynamo. Further plays on the "small but mighty" theme that JID is often described as by other rappers (JID was well known for sleeping around with lots of women in his mid twenties, particularly women who were a bit older than him and was routinely noted as "being willing to whip it out" at any moment by his friends, further playing on the pocket rocket theme). 12. Pocket rocket is also a common sports saying, particularly in football, used to describe a small person who is extremely athletic or one of the smallest people in the field/court/ring who makes a large/massive impact in the game despite their size. JID is often described as being small but make a huge impact with his verses and making other rappers scared despite his small stature. His career and discography have been described by many music and hip hop journalists as being similar to a "pocket rocket", in that he has made a large impact culturally in a small amount of time despite his smaller discography. 13. Likewise, throughout JID's college football career he was described as a "pocket rocket" by college scouts, coaches, and fellow teammates, making a massive impact in the game with his notable athleticism and speed/power (He's well known music for having his music littered with football references such as this). 14. A pocket rocket is also a small gun. 15. A pocket rocket is also a small motorcycle that is known for providing lots of power despite its small size, further playing on the small but powerful stature. 16. JID was/is a drummer before being a rapper, and often referred to as a "pocket drummer" (someone who prioritizes groove and feel over flashiness in their playing) and strongly preferred to use "Rocket Toms" now type.
@@ilikesing1474 This is def a really good entendre but you are stretching the same stuff multiple times. I will give you 2-5 entendre maybe. Eminem may not have had this kind of entendre but he has more double entendres and triple entendres and more syllabically complex rhymes.
1. on the first third, he emphasizes the "A" sound (decades, spray, Dre, strays, play, they, essay, stay, wait) 2. on the middle third, he emphasizes the "B" sound (Biggie, be, beef, beat, obesity, became, BK, bitch) 3. on the last third, he emphasizes the "C" sound from the alliterations THEY'RE PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH LIKE ALPHABET SOUP (A-B-C)
This might be a stretch but those last rhymes have E in it, now he leave out the D in that alphabet soup..... did he? Or he didnt because he already drop that big DD line... Either way it still GENIUS.

Man, you listen to JIDs verse, you wont ever expect eminem to show up, then you get to ems verse and you forget JID was just rapping, both sound line their own songs, wtf. This song is crazy. Both killed it 100%
@@inmyhead00The last sentence really shows what kind of mindset you have. Are you not aware that people have differing opinions? Like how a lot of people think Jay had the better verses on renegade. You got a lot of growing to do lil bro.
Em starts his verse with an “A” rhyme scheme (Dre, play, essay, esse, SA, Ay). He then moves into a “B” rhyme scheme (biggie, BE living, BEat the BEat, oBEsity, BEginning, Benz, Balls, Base). He then says the voices in his head are putting words in his mouth like alphabet soup before going into a whole “C” alliteration scheme.
😅What I love about this JID verse is that He doesn't sound like he's under pressure to out-rap Eminem. He's just flowing and rapping as hard as he always does and it's just soo fire that it's not only sounds good but is lyrically dense enough to fit on an Eminem song🔥
That's how felt he just went in doing what he doesn't didn't feel like he was tryna desperately compete with Em he just did what he usually does and it works perfect
Yeah but still unacceptable. Eminem, 50 cent and EVERY celeb that knew should go to prison as well. They knew this entire time and didnt actually do anything about it.
@@CarlCarlson-jq3xrThat's a terrible opinion. Yeah if they knew and didn't speak up that's unfortunate but the only people that should be in prison are Diddy and those that aided him.
@@CarlCarlson-jq3xr Every celeb? Suge Knight himself knew the hit order came from an offer made by Diddy, there was a gang war in Compton after Pac's murder because everyone on the streets knew what really happened, who killed Pac and who made the hit order. The police themselves knew what really happened, but as it turns out Diddy had alleged police connections and protections, so the evidence on the case never turned out be sufficient during those days.
I will be honest though. I listen to this on repeat since the album dropped and it is solely because I love JID's verse and cadences. Best track on the album IMO

16. Pocket rocket is a poker term for having two aces in your hand - it's the best starting hand you can have, further playing on his career and the small but powerful theme. 17. JID was/is a drummer before being a rapper, and often referred to as a "pocket drummer" (someone who prioritizes groove and feel over flashiness in their playing) and strongly preferred to use "Rocket Toms" now type.
Right? This younger generation think that just bc they believe one rapper sounds better “sonically” TO THEM, they automatically just say that rapper “out rapped” somebody 🤦♂️ JID has a buttery smooth flow that is great, but RAP wise, he wasn’t saying what Eminem was saying. Eminem was saying WAY harder shit plus he flow switches 4 different times, 2 of those flows being NASTY and new like I’ve never heard anyone come up with a flow like it. Em is an innovator and some people like Scru, won’t appreciate and love the flow until 20 years later. It’s THAT far ahead of everyone’s time.
@burdman1333 true, but i think Scru saying JID is the future is just him saying JID is still getting better, which is a lot to say for someone who has verses like he has on Dicaprio. I believe JID's purpose on this song was merely to set the stage for Eminem to debut some of that new new great shit, perfect song for both of them imo and im glad jid didnt try to outrap em because then the weight of both verses would be detracted imo, itd make it a bit TOO much lmao

Oh absolutely and it's painfully obvious he wants to straight criticize EM but knows he can't so he over loads the back handed compliments about em lol. But why is what I wanna know because he obviously is a student of the game and knows his shit because he's an artist himself so I don't understand why and how he doesn't truly believe and feel that Em is a top three or even five. How anyone that truly knows hip hop cannot genuinely feel and believe Em is as great as he is is beyond me. People say “future” simply because he hasn’t been in the rap game long enough. He’s more of one of those greats that hasn’t been in the game long enough to show his true impact
Bro Eminem’s choppy flow is intentional. He seems to prefer it. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not supposed to sound like that or “he is fighting the beat”. I’ve even heard Wayne use it in some of his verses before. It’s a pocket that some people actually like.
He always find a way to complain he can just say he doesn’t like it and keep it like that he be trying to act like that’s how em rap no that’s how he chooses to rap
Choppy flow is intentional to pronounce and highlight certain parts of words that would fit into a rhyme-scheme. It's an unconventional style of rhyming that some will like, others will not. But no-one can say it isn't clever the way he's able to find these pockets and flow with it. Everyone is an armchair critic, it's hilarious 😂

My guy, JID literally had a septendecuple entendre (17 meanings):
"In the pocket, the rocket like Kelly mom".
1. Literal: Holding a rocket (weapon) in a pocket. Something a lot of gang members do for quick retrieval
2. Football reference: "In the pocket" relates to a quarterback's protective area, with "rocket" as a powerful throw (JID played college football and used these football references all the time throughout his discography)
16. Pocket rocket is a poker term for having two aces in your hand - it's the best starting hand you can have, further playing on his career and the small but powerful theme.
17. JID was/is a drummer before being a rapper, and often referred to as a "pocket drummer" (someone who prioritizes groove and feel over flashiness in their playing) and strongly preferred to use "Rocket Toms" now type lol.

I think Jid smashed this record. But I have to give it to Em. Bro, the disses and double ontandras, word play was on another level. It's this verse that really makes me think he's the best rapper to do it.
he is 100% the best rapper. No other rapper can do this stuff. Em is in his own world. He's the big 3 all in 1.

That stick ball bar is even crazier because Diddy blew up Kid Cudi's car for talking to Cassie. That's why directly after the Diddy diss, he had that bar "you must be on base if you think you can touch my car". That was directed at Diddy thinking he can get his car blown up like he did Kid Cudi.
I bet you don't know that
Saying JID had the better verse than Em is why I don’t take you serious at all. Good god. 😂
Bro got hit with the hardest p diddy bar of all time and he still let his racism win
Homies gotta let that hate go 😂😂😂😂
Facts let's not forget em is 50 imagine if em was in his prime
The downplay was crazy. That P Diddy bar was one of (if not) the hardest bar on the whole album
Nah, I am white and JID got him on this one. He honestly gave Em a pass and just critiqued his flow. Didn't even get in to his corniness. I grew up listening to Em, but he hasn't been good in a minute.

Eminem killed this verse . I don't understand how people can say jid even touched him 😅 not eminem fans apparently
