At least the track on yours was moulded, the one i got the tracks had defects on them and i couldn’t use them because half the track wasn’t moulded properly
Very helpful video. I'm currently assembling UM's BT42 and I'm thouroughly confused by the instruction. Good think it shares chassis with BT7. I'm fairly new to scale models, though.
The nose of that thing looks like it was designed by someone used to building armored cars like the BA-10 you built that came up as a link at the end of the video, and had only ever heard of tanks but never seen one. Is it just me, or is the turret made of a slightly grayer plastic than the rest of the kit? Also, I saw a lot of white discoloration on some of the parts that look like deformation marks, not mold release or whatever that shmoo you had to wipe off the upper hull was. It's especially visible at 1:40 and 1:45. Ah well, as you said it's not the greatest quality kit. The fact that you persevered and built the damned thing speaks well for your patience. I might have taken a hammer to it halfway through.
Better you than me. I tried a couple of UM kits and then decided to sell off the ones i had left on ebay. Ace (Ukraine) is pretty similar in quality as well.
How do u keep ur glue brush a brush. And not solid chunk. Also, I keep breaking the nozel on air brush. Any brush where nozel comes of with steel peice and not by self?
The UM kits are not for wargamers - there are for collectors. Some of them have resin parts other have too many fotoeched parts. But most of them are unique in the market!!! At least when they first made.. That is why they are not fine like other kits in 1.72... But at least there are much better than those of ACE!!!
@@andrewnoonan4044 I had only two models of ACE and there were awful. I have made and in the making ten models of UM and UMMT and there not as bad - some of them remind me of Machbox kits...
@@ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣΔΕΛΗΣ-θ3η I hated how they (UM) did the transmission on the M10/Sherman kits. that was enough to put me off them completely. I think I also tried building one of their Marder's and didn't like the result at all. Matchbox - lol I love those old things!
It would do for a burnt out wreck I reckon. Pretty shabby tho, in the end. I would like to see you do the Calliope sooner rather than later. I will need to get a Calliope version of the Sherman for my next diorama so it will give me some idea of which to avoid or get.
I would say that this kit is a accurate soviet tank factory experience

That "stuff" on top of the hull, maybe the quality control guys cracker crumbs that he was eating while looking over the kit.
Love your videos i decided to buy 2 tanks after watching your videos and it looks fun building model tanks
Howed it go
@@chatladdy7726 Great it was fun and cool to do it
Reminds me of some of the kits I built back in the 70's. Crappy fit, sink marks and all.
The good Ol' days.
This bt7 needs to use it's repair kit lol. I would love to see the sherman.
Great choice of subject to build
Oh yeah, I remember building this some years ago. I had problems with the nose as well. I ended up binning the whole kit.
Kit looks ok, i've seen worse - would make an interesting build
oh hi man how are u ?
Very cool!
wash your sprues in lukewarm soapy water. Gets rid of release agents from the injection moulding process. nice vid.
Noice
Very Noice
Yes
Might look better painted, it's about time for a new painting video.
Yep, want to see the calliope, and a comparison with the Airfix version would be nice.

You should have did no tracks the bt 5 and 7 are both capable of driving without tracks

Nah, Ace is of similar quality.

UM photoetch is also horrible.
AH!!! The stuff on the hull was CORONA! 💡

Sure it is! Smash that bell etc.

And which country are you from? I'm from Ukraine (it's origin of this BT-7)
did you know the longest jump ever made by a tank was a bt-7 also the bt-7 can drive without treds.
I seen the bt 42 in anime
