damn, I was thinking you might skip the escort lol. my first car was an 89 hatchback that I bought and paid for from the side of the road for $400 in 2001. I never liked cars but I learned a lot with that car and if that one you videoed was in Maine, it woulda come home with me as a yard buggy for that price..... maybe even as a grocery-getter
Keep the Chevy!!! Does the square body have a title??? If so, keep it!! Great farm truck. 4wd is very important!! Those are generally easy to work on and maintain. Hope you have had an awesome Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays from Western Wisconsin!!!
I’m most likely keeping it and yes it has a title. I’ve also always liked the body style. We had a great Thanksgiving and hopefully you’re staying warm in Wisconsin!
@faithfulfarmadventures It's great that you are considering keeping your chevy. We are considering buying a 1990s chevy crew cab 350 4x4 auto. Easier to maintain. If perhaps the transmission goes out, it's not hard to replace because it's a basic truck. Finding another transmission might be a question though - hopefully we won't have to worry about that anytime soon after buying it. From what I remember, the intake on the chevy we are considering, a fella could put a carburetor on it with a manual choke. and a manual fuel pump as long as they didn't cast over that part of the motor. Changing the fuel injection is nothing I'd consider doing as I am fully disabled do to physical disabilities, cancer, and other conditions. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Cold here in Western Wisconsin. My fiancée Julie and myself spent quality time together and ate very well at home. Love to see you get that Chevy running strong again!!! Vincent.
good deal on square body for sure. ship that escort to Maine? lol. dream talking you lol. shipping would be a killer price. now.... before taking the gas tank out.....or cutting a hole under the back seat..... open the hatchback and on the left side of the trunk on the inner wheel well there's a fuel pump cut-out switch... press the rest button if that fixes it.... in 2001 5 fuel pumps were $69 x 5 = $345, 2 test lights, fuses, relays, ........ damn emergency cut-off switch.... $12... or bypass it like lawnmower switches. oh.... and fuel filter change? tooless! 2 nylon clips and chand by hand as easy as putting a leash on a dog.
They had started selling cars so I was doing that when they sold and to make it worse they brought like $50 bucks a piece on the high end. They always go stupid high so I didn't make it a priority to keep an eye on them. big mistake lol
They sold them choice until the last couple than cleaned up the last few in a lot. I really don't remember but im thinking in the 20-30 each range at first
Around here most of the auction companies are still old school and put fliers in most every gas station in the area, also you can go to HiBid.com and search your area for auctions you can also google auction companies in your area and go to there websites.

Shoot I knew when I laid eyes on it it was likely coming home lol. I have a soft spot for 80’s models vehicles. That was a good deal in 2001!
