    ❤, very helpful! We just got a historical winter snow (see my short video), however, veggies in the greenhouse are safe.

    I see your hot air tubes and overhead irrigation in some of these clips. I'd really love to know how you utilize forced air in something small like a caterpillar tunnel or how overhead vs drip irrigation has worked for you in the tunnels. Great video!

      we don't use heating tubes in caterpillar tunnels actually, that shot was from row cover inside a greenhouse, but it's the same concept of putting tunnels within tunnels! As for overhead irrigation, that we definitely like to do for certain crops in caterpillar tunnels!

    What sprinkler heads do you use in the caterpillar tunnels?

    Lots of pressure to provide markets in January-march in cold climates. Thanks for the content.

    Hi JM! can you share the date of the seeding of the crops that you are selling now? and if the were always under caterpillar? or you move them from another crop? thanks!

    Hi JM, those Tessier micro tunnels are very interesting. Haven’t seen them before. The elastic cord fastens the plastic to each individual hoop? How do they hood up in strong winds?

    • @TheMarketGardeners
      @TheMarketGardeners  Рік тому +1

      Yes, and you can shorten the elastic loops to make it as tight as you want, or if you have any doubts about the elastic, you can always use regular rope! As for strong winds, as long as it's installed well they hold up great!

    JM this video is for me, I live near Peace River AB. Season extension is what I intend to master. Mini tunnels are the eventual goal, I have substituted using std poly with Milk Crates which go over plants and 2x6 boards at bottom (works better than sand bags). Some plants I will individual bucket/bin cover for cold nights. So good to know about height in Tunnels though. Youve been amazing source of info Thank You!

      @@TheMarketGardeners I plan on it soon, probably next year. I am no-till so the hope is to leave the hoops in year round and clear poly the snow later.

    I’m done with the “hippie” idea of an unheated greenhouse. I installed a wood stove in mine, so not only will I be growing all year, but the ash by-product is an amazing fertilizer and alkalizer.

    Where do you get the mini tunnel arches and plastic with holes shown at minute 4:15?
