  • A short video on making and using shellac. It's not a difficult process and is one of my "go to" finishes. It's easy, quick and you'll get great results. There is plenty of latitude when it comes to the recipe and even how it is applied. There are lots of "pros" to using it as a finish although there are other uses for it as well...

    have been using shellac for many, many years but doing so many things wrong. This is such a clear, understandable tutorial. Well done! I will be changing up my techniques for sure. Thanks for your help.

    Great video, Steve. I love using shellac and you did a great job explaining your process. I've got a digital scale accurate to less than 1mg that I keep in a temperature controlled room so I can accurately measure my shellac :-)

      Thanks David. I appreciate that. I'm going to convert my spare room into a "Shellac Room". Temperature, humidity, biometric and dust controlled.
