I think Hatchie is new rock stars, they definetely sound better than any band I ever heard in this genre before. Gorgeous composing and sound 👍 I love listening to them while riding a bike in May in green Russia. Beautiful, inspiring and uplifting music! Thanks you KEXP for inviting such great artists.
The opening to Stay With Me gives me shivers every time. I can't wait for Hatchie to return to touring so I can go to a live show. I've been to see RINSE, and he was fantastic, and I just need to see a Hatchie show to complete the set. EDIT: Seem him twice now. Even better the second time around. Highly recommend.

The music sounds dreamy and soothing. It reminds me of Cocteau Twins as well. I am such an old fart... I think my wife and I saw Cocteau Twins live right around the time Harriett was born :o

She didn’t have as much voice processing in the last KEXP session. Maybe their trying to keep the vocals like how it is recorded on the album? Still sounds good though. They play so well together ! Those guitars sound amazing ! Edit: Watching again I’m amazed at how much better the songs sound live. That bass is 🔥 I hope they come to NZ sometime because they are all a group of special musicians
@@rossmeyer7230 the band is playing to a click track (metronome) in their headphones, so that they stay on time with pre-recorded vocal harmonies (and unison doubles at times). There are some other layers in there (for example the quiet sample/synth at the beginning of the second track) but not too much of that. This is a pretty common thing these days. Many pop metal and hardcore bands do this to include synths and samples. It requires a talented drummer who can keep in time with that click without fail.
don't suppose any gear heads know exactly what harmony processor she uses? you can hear it particulary clear in the first track. i've never heard a Harmony processor that sounds that natural.
@@sommelierofstench yeah some in there for sure, i thought she was using just a phat harmonizer and doubler at first but have since realised that she has pre recorded vocals doing some of the lower parts
"Kiss The Stars" sounds like a mashup of "Classic Girl" by Jane's Addiction and "Bad" by U2, with the guitar tone from "Take a Picture" by Filter. Other than that, completely original and unique.

Oh my god... Is the letter written on the strap of the guitarist with yellow hair in it a kamikaze(神風)? that means a suicide attack by the Japanese army during World War II. It's like looking at the accessories that Japanese pilots wore on their heads before they went on a suicide attack. I don't know his intentions, but it's really offensive if he's wearing them simply because he thinks it's cool. I hope everything I thought is a misunderstanding. Their music is good.

Never heard of this band until now but WOW was I impressed when the first song came on. The whole set gives me MAJOR Cocteau Twins vibes.
The last song "Stay With Me" has such a stellar build up to it. Fantastic song with lots of energy!
