I used to have Monday- Friday job and earlyhours hours, now I have night shift and Tuesday-Wednesday. I miss having that shift and I’m always exhausted after work to do any appointments or anything else. And my social life took a hit because of it.
8 to 5 with weekends feels incredible if youve ever worked 12 hours shifts with constant mandatory overtime for month stretches. Sure the money may be nice but you have absolutely no life working 12 hr shifts 6 days a week. That one day off is either sleep or resupplying and cleaning
I can't understand how people struggle to find things to do if they were to have unlimited free time, how is that hard at all? Learn a new language, hang out, workout, hitchhike to travel if you don't want to spend money or just walk, meet people, further your mastery of your hobbies, etc... So much to do i am not even scratching the surface. People in the US always have this weird "my only purpose is to work myself to death" mentality...
I mean ya our pay is awful and many states are right to work. Which means you can be fired for basically anything. You gotta hustle just for the basics and when you do get time off you just wanna breath
