@@undergroundgarage Ah...Miscommunication. What I meant to say was that the fuel system is the most complicated thing to start with in terms of a video introduction, so you started right at the deep end. Keep them coming.
Thank you so much for explaining this. I'm currently troubleshooting why my fuel pump is getting no voltage across it, and any video about the fuel system is greatly appreciated
Thanks for those videos! Really helpful. And regarding the flickering: it might be, that you had the camera in some auto mode and depending on how the white gloves where in the picture, it set the shutter time to around 1/50 or 1/60 s which resonates with the hz of your lamps thus showing your shutter in the picture. Try setting it to a fixed timing (or better fixed timing and aperture) and the flickering should stop :)
Fantastically descriptive video! It answered a few of my unknowns. I know this is a longshot, but in the previous video you mentioned your plunger was stuck. Mine is currently stuck aswell, and I was wondering how you get yours unstuck while avoiding marking it.
Thanks first of all! I disassembled minie metering unit used some carb cleaner and heat from a heat gun. Theoreticly the inside of a metering unit is so clean that it's should not have any thing to score the surface.
@@undergroundgarage I wanted to follow up and say I followed your advice on the heat gun and carburetor cleaner and it worked like a charm! It needed a couple taps with a very soft (non metal) hammer but it came out with no scoring! Thank you!! I did forget to take the o-rings off before I used the carburetor cleaner though. So I have to replace those, whoops lol Thank you again!
Hi! Thanks for the video! I got a ´80 924 NA and I´m trying to learn more about the car. My mechanic told me my car had an issue with a "valve" in the injection system. A valve that increases the fuel injetion as I press the throttle and has a consequence I was having a very "lumpy" car on low rpm. He then turn off the valve and now it´s kinda ok on low rpm but he told me it may not be as performant as it should in high rpm. I´m trying to figure it out which valve he is talking about but couldn´t so far. Sorry for my poor description of the problem. Thank you.
@@Peakren it is hard to say over the internet, the only "Valve" that controls the injection depending on the rpm is the plunger in the metering unit, but there is no way to turn it off ( the car wound not run).

Afr can be affected by adjusting the screw on the metering flap ( smal Alan Key between the flap and the metering unit.), or by increasing the system opereting pressure on the metering unit by shiming the pressure regulator valve, but this changes it by a factor in all the Rev range. If you want to go more technical look in to porsche 924 turbo WUR witch have a boost sense port for enrichment on boost situation.
Hi maybe you could help me please. My car has been laid up for 4 years and have recently tried to start it with fresh fuel. It starts but immediately cuts out I have checked the 5th injector and is fine but no fuel from the main injectors both fuel pumps are working fine and produce 2.4 ltrs per minute at the head unit. I have checked the plunger you mention and this is free. Any idea where I should be looking next?
Make your self a fuel pump switch with a long extention so you can operate it from under the hood. Disconnect the fuel lines that go to the injectors put them in 4 separate jars. Remove the air filter from the fuel distributor, start the pump and cerfully lift the metering flap from the inside. The jars should fill with equal amounds of fuel.
@@undergroundgarage Checked again and if I disconnect the injector and run the pump I do get fuel but as soon as the injectors are reconnected I have nothing as if not enough pressure to operate them.
@@ronnie8752 well it's possible that thy are clogged with the ramains of old fuel. Try to blow them out wit compressed air, start at 5 bar. Soaking in carb cleaner and or a ultrasonic cleaner might help.
Excellent.

Just what I was looking for
Auxiliary air valve for faster initial idle?

Which Performance valve do you use ? and also if I use a performance valve, should I tune the injection accordingly or just leave it be ?
What do you mean by performance valve?
