This is our second attempt at a longer form mini documentary style piece of content on the channel. Please share your feedback so we can take that into account moving forward and continue making the best content we can for our community!
I applaud this type of media. You have gone to great lengths to get accurate information in a presentable form that people can understand, and this information needs to be digested by millions of people so that we can make changes that are good for people not nations, not governments, but real people thank you and continue to do this type of great journalism❤🎉
Your content is unbelievably awesome! The depth of comprehension, how everything is put together, and the delivery itself are top-notch. Thank you so much!! 🙌
I'm a grandson of the Chiang Kai‐shek army personnel. My grand-father served in the ROC army, he was in charge of the ground forces horses. He couldn't read or write, but he fought bravely against the Japanese in WWII, and then the Communists. We won't go into the use of horses in WW2 here. He told me countless stories of the bloody battles leading up to the retreat to Taiwan, and the times when the supplies couldn't make their ways to the front lines. Those accounts were some that continued to live on in my mind, I'm now in my 50's. I really appreciate your video which added the battles to take Taiwan by the PROC aka Communists, and their failed attempts in the early days. I did not hear about those directly so this closed some gaps for me. I moved to the US at the age of 12, and let me tell you, education was a big deal in Taiwan growing up. Lots of scholars. I'm not that surprised by what Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing has accomplished. Hope Intel and Taiwan Semi's new fabs onshore take us to the next levels.
I have one question. TSMC started in 1987. The USA made it's defense pact with ROC in 1954, not in the late 80s. Granted that the rise of TSMC has upped the ante for the US, BUT, the primary premise seems to be at odds with History. We have been protecting the ROC way before silicon became important. Your placing our support of ROC strictly on TSMC is very flawed.
The description about Morris Chang is inaccurate. He was NOT one of the students sent to US by Taiwan government. He had never been to Taiwan until age of 53 and had established his early career in US.
Who controls the supply of microchips? Not Taiwan. ASML does. The company in the Netherlands the designs and builds the machines that make silicon chips. Yes Fabs are very complex and costly facilities to build. Taiwan is the labor force. Currently. That will, as you mentioned, change.
That is an oversimplification. Taiwan is far more than the labor force and all of The countries involved are critical to the process. If Taiwan never got another machine from the Netherlands they could still make chips for years.
On the commentator saying there was no financial value to invading Ukraine is inaccurate. Russia invaded Ukraine to control former industrial capacity and oil reserves in the Donbas region as well as the recent discovery of massive oil and gas reserves off the Ukrainian coast in the Black Sea. Development and control of the reserves was a major long term threat to Russian oil and gas sold to the European market and an incentive to Russia to further increase its wealth by stealing these resources by conquering Ukraine.
"Yes, Taiwan is a nation." The 'Taiwanese' government literally says "we are China and the only China" Also yes I clicked on this video just to see what is said about Taiwan being a nation
Hey Tesla Space. Good video. I have noticed a trend with content producers. A lengthy history lesson and back ground information effectively burying the lead. I suspect this is to pad run time in order to qualify for an ad break. Please be mindful of this. I don't need a history primer with every subject.
The United States is suffering from our own educational system. There are not enough trained technologists here in the country. TSMC is building a huge fab in Arizona but can’t staff it without shipping hundreds of trained employees from Taiwan. It’s s sad state of affairs that our school system is so poor thanks to the Dept of Education… which should be dismantled for its many abject failures.
You are wrong about Taiwan been a nation as you stated, do your homework. basically no country recognises it as one including yours ,bad way to start a discussion with a completely false premise.... Love the rest of your vids btw.
He did qualify it by saying it's complicated. But yeah, we all know what is going on there between China and Taiwan. This is not the place for the dabate.
Why don't you try to come to Taiwan with a Chinese visa? Entering Taiwan illegally and receiving punishment can make you sober. You are a useless waste who can only bluff if you don't dare.
Follow the money folks. The capitalist concept drives human greed. We fight for wealth and valuable consideration. The concept of personal ownership has moved the majority of human kind beyond a hunter-gatherer assistance.
There was a phase of human evolution when the concept of ownership belonged to a small tribal group who claimed a particular water source. Anthropology 101. Then individuals became more independent thanks to modern technology they sought to amass personal wealth.
The free world is not moving fast enough to duplicate Taiwan. This really scares me. I would never buy a Chinese EV, battery, or motor because profits support the CCP. I try to find an equivalent non-Chinese product for every big ticket purchase, even if it costs more. Apple, please find another country to make iPhones?
The Taiwanese voted freely for their freedom and democracy, the island became a free and sovereign country like the others. This vote nullifies any belonging to the paranoid delirium of the dictatorship of the continent. This is called respecting a people's vote for their freedom of choice to think and act. Taiwanese have seen all individual freedom disappear in Hong Kong and they are not stupid in front of a single-thought dictatorship
If the tesla related content only speaker starts talking about Taiwan being a country, this would make me really nervous that media is pushing another round of historical cognitive manipulation to either wish Taiwan to announce independence or presume China will end the civil war non-peacefully. Yeah the Cold War has ended for 30 years, but the “Cold War” between CPC and ROC has been lasting for 70 years.

Great information in 20 minutes. A+
Masterworks is a fraud. I know you have to eat, but please don't do it

More of this
Yes, there is history and national security at the root of EV story. The intuition to go upstream is very much appreciated. Keep it up!
you’re an excellent educator. You’re able to see the big picture, but then bring it down to a simple explanation.
Prodigious research and storytelling. I work in Tech and learned a lot from this video.
Excellent historical perspective & history lesson. Thank you!
This was a very good video! Thumbs up
Clear description, helping me to know better. Thanks
Excellent review with additional information. 👍
Very informative and easy to understand
Great video! Definitely more in this style please
Beautiful editing

That was great! I learned a lot. Well presented.
Excellent video!
Great as always!!! My favorite Elon/TESLA focused channel!!1
You are doing good documentaries. Keep up the good work!
Wow - a great video

I love sour cream and onion microchips!
Great video thanks 🙏
Ty for the video
Thanks for this update guys. It’s very informative, and more than a little sobering 😳😖😊
👍🏻🙏🏻❤️!

Don't forget who controls the raw material.
thanks
@@QuietJugung who?

Sumsung intel globalfoundary can all get asml machine, so why Taiwan control the chips supply?
Great video, but the Bay area is not Central California we are in Northern California. 😉
Nicely done and good info overall. Perhaps it's time to consider a channel rename so that it's not as 'Tesla' specific? Keep it up :)

Elon Musk for King 👑✨👑 King of the World
how long will it take to start production in Arizona and Ohio? Anybody knows?
TSMC should drop the plan in Arizona; it loses money and reduces profit.
8:15 - 8:40 Starve Japan. Feed China? 🙃
"Yes, Taiwan is a nation."
The 'Taiwanese' government literally says "we are China and the only China"
Also yes I clicked on this video just to see what is said about Taiwan being a nation
Think Taiwan will set up shop on the moon and Mars to keep their market leverage?
Why I don’t own TSMC❗️
A Risk to NVDA also.
Risk to AMD, AAPL, QCOM, Tesla.
hmmm noticed you excluded Newfoundland from both Canada and North America.

Brave calling China a tiny country.
TSMC I ASSUME
Interesting video but why to add annoying unrelated ad on min 12

Oh yes honey 🍯
Follow the money folks. The capitalist concept drives human greed. We fight for wealth and valuable consideration. The concept of personal ownership has moved the majority of human kind beyond a hunter-gatherer assistance.
Greed exists no matter the organizational ideology at play. Do think greed plays no part in a society ruled by communism or a dictatorship?
There was a phase of human evolution when the concept of ownership belonged to a small tribal group who claimed a particular water source. Anthropology 101. Then individuals became more independent thanks to modern technology they sought to amass personal wealth.

Let Tesla build a chip factory in the USA. And get the best engineers in the world to work there. Problem solved.
read you titel again
thanks! 😅
@@TheTeslaSpace np😀
hi
This is not really related to Tesla. If I wanted a history lessons, social study lesson, I'd watch a channel that specializes in it.
thanks for the feedback!
This does impact Tesla and all other vehicle manufacturers. TSMC and ASML own the world for now.@@TheTeslaSpace
Мдаааа, это конечно не тесла офишл, но тоже ничего...
