SLOAN!!! Love that band. Navy Blues is aces man. I’ve had the CD since it’s release but haven’t scored the vinyl yet. I do have Twice Removed LP and One Chord to Another vinyl box set. Also really like the epic Never Hear the End of It and don’t sleep on 12 their most recent album. About time for them to put out something new, fingers crossed this year. Entertaining video as usual, Brian. Take care. / Matt
Thanks Matt! I don’t know Sloan’s whole discography. I need to check out more. But Navy Blues has always been my go to. Time to look for more. Thanks for the tips. Cheers🍀
Hey Brian... tuned in to your channel before work, here on the west coast ! I ran across my Bob Schneider Cd... it was The Bodeans Tour July 23 2004 in Reno, Nv. I didn't have him sign it, but I spoke with him quiet a bit, just me and Bob ! Nobody else knew who he was !! This live Cd is titled "Frunk" I did put my ticket stub inside the jewel case.. gonna play it on the way to work ! Dude, almost every thing you have, I have! And martin Sexton is an original, and soooo good ! Later, JT "May You Never" UA-cam as an incredible early best performance of said song...
Better late than never. I have been playing a lot of catch up as of late Brian. Trying to work on the music room, taking care of my mom, working and working some more, etc... I have watched your videos for quite some time now. I can honestly say that your tastes in artists are unique. You listen to a lot of artists that are not shown much in the VC and should be. Nice grab on the original Modern Lovers. I can remember when they were literally selling for $4.99 to $8.99 in the used shops in Boston. There were loads of them. Nowadays you are lucky to see them for under $75.00. Or more. Such an essential listen. All of the Richman & The Modern Lovers albums are great. Sloan. Another essential. You could have named this update "Essential Listens, Essential Albums". Always good to see you brother. Only 17 Days till spring. Yes!!!~ Rob/Boston
Hey Rob, I’m still waiting to go digging with you sometime. I know Jonathan wants to go as well. We should try to hook up sometime and get the dig on. I hope your Mom is ok. It’s hard getting older. I live 4 hours from my parents and I’m always worried about them and wish I lived closer. It’s always fun working on the music room though. Hope all is well buddy! Cheers, Brian🍀
Great one Brian! Some serendipity there with the Isbell/Prine 7"s! I'll have to check out Oh Boy's sight. Totally agree with you on modern music, Andrew and Shannon. All great! Great score on that Modern Lovers! Cheers bud!
It’s always fun to razz Jonathan a bit. I wish I had his reaction on camera. Hahaha Oh, You make as much damn coffee on your channel as you want. Lol Cheers🍀
“Here, My Dear”! Nice. One of my favorites. And “Solid Air” is another - I have both US and UK pressings of that. Need to play it soon, it’s been forever.
Great score with The Modern Lovers. I am always looking for John Martyn as I only have him on CD. I have one Martin Sexton album that is on CD as well. I have been a big Jason Isbell fan ever since my brother dragged me to his concert. Love the Pogues shirt and I really like the BBC Sessions release from RSD. Looks like you scored big time. Happy spinning.
He dragged you to Isbell? That’s funny. I’m glad he made a fan out of you. Yeah, that BBC sessions sounds great! I was spinning mine last week. Hope all is well. Cheers🍀
@@ShamrocknRecords "Dragged" is probably not the right word as I did have a couple of Drive-By Truckers' albums. But the concert was an eye-opener and I now have most of Isbel's output.
Dude!! You see Modern Lovers 1st and you grab it, no matter what! That looked like the 1st Home of The Hits labels too. Well done!! Amazing score in 2021. With you on current music, have to keep learning and finding out about new music. Though it can be overwhelming and chaotic. OTC incredible! One of my all-time favorites. Check out the band Circulatory System if you haven't already. That's the newer band from Will Cullen Hart from OTC who also does all the art. They've actually been at it since like 2001. Great video!
I’ll have to check out Circulatory System. Thanks for that heads up. I’ve never heard of them. Yes, I lucked out with the Modern Lovers. It is a Home of the Hits. That’s the joy of digging. Never know what you will find. I loved your Discogs purchase video by the way. That was awesome. Always good to try to find deals where they can be had. It’s getting tougher and tougher these days! Cheers🍀
Nice finds for sure! Modern Lovers for $2...lol. That Trouble Man soundtrack is a gem. I was lucky and got that Shires/ Isbell 7 inch from the Grimeys website when it came out. I have it framed. Hope you’re doing well...take care!
I’ll frame it eventually. I’m so excited to have it. I’ve spun a ton. I love that song. I can’t wait to really dig in to that Trouble Man. Hope all is well! Cheers, Brian🍀
What’s up Shammy??!! Haha Man I haven’t spun that Neutral Milk for awhile I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy it. Man I am really digging that Marvin Gaye in the background tho! Those are both cool MG records Man I wouldn’t have even hesitated to snatch that Modern Lovers Nice grab! Glad to hear you’re getting to go out and see some great live music! Man I miss seeing shows! I had ticks to go see Pearl Jam before the pandemic I still have them hoping for a reschedule here in The Lou! If you ever stumble upon some stuff you’d think I’d like in your ordinary flea market antique booth stuff let me know I’ll buy and pay shipping I’m always online and now in the stores looking for vinyl too and I’d be happy to support your habit Haha People are crazy over pricing right now for vinyl It’s insane! Thanks for the band merch tip on buying records! Great “ramble on” vid Brother! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️
If I stumble on anything cool I’ll be sure to let you know. Keep those tix, they hopefully will reschedule. I have tix for Tallest Man on Earth that was cancelled and now it’s been rescheduled until next March. Those Marvin records are both killer. Rock on brother! Cheers🍀
Nice call on the Neutral Milk Hotel, Brian. “The Problem” is a powerful song. I have two Isbell signatures on albums of his already, so I won’t be spending $50 on a 7,” but I won’t chastise you for doing it. As soon as Prine died, people started posting his albums that you could get used for $10-15 for hundreds. Anything that was released on Oh Boy Records is going to get repressed. So it’s foolish that people are selling those for that much. Also... his entire catalog is getting reissued eventually. 75% of it already has been. Andrew’s countdown has been great. Big fan of Shannon’s channel. Awesome pickups, man. That Modern Lovers was a huge score. I have a ‘78 press and I sure as hell didn’t pay $2 for it. Haha! Fun, loose video, Brian. Cheers! ✌🏻
Two signed Isbell records? Did you meet him? Sweet!!! I couldn’t believe the prices on Prine records when he had passed. I remember buying a nice copy of his first record for $4 about 8 years ago. Those were the days! Haha
Enjoyed the video!! I also buy stuff knowing I'm going to flip it not to rip people off or gouge them but to make a few dollars to buy more albums than I want! If there's a dollar to be made you got to do it..lol. Peace 🕊️
Exactly Rod. Making a bit is one thing but ripping people off is another. I like flipping records. It’s really helped my collection a great deal. ☮️❤️ and 🍀 Cheers

Thank you so much Glen. I apparently hit the made for kids button by accident and it shut off comments. It’s fixed now. Thanks for the heads up brother! Cheers🍀
