    What a great choice of music and I love the way it fades in and out, choreographed to the visuals. The Cabana Anthology is so packed with wonders that I'll look at your presentation many times.

    Dear Sweet Mary, Especially enjoyed your video as it has many memories for me. I was Christened at St. James before my family moved to Wallace. I have been there many times mostly for funerals and once when the Church dedicated "Lee Hall" which my Uncle helped to build in memory of my late Aunt Jeanne Lee. I wanted to tell your bloggers in case they did not know that you also published a wonderful book called "Wallace, N.C. Home, Sweet Home" about our home town and both my parents were mentioned in the book as you and I both grew up in Wallace. See you next week! Hughie

      Thank you, Paula. One of my favorite homes is in Savannah. It's the Mercer Williams house. Yes, I have been to Biltmore. The last time we were there was during Christmas. It was a bit crowded, but still enjoyable and very beautiful. The gardens were just a fascinating as the home. The repairs to my house are complete, and now I am just working on cleaning the plaster dust from EVERYTHING. I hope you have a great week.

    Wow! Talk about eye candy; it's almost entirely full page photos! Yeah, this one's on my must have list now. Loved the tour too. I would so love to go visit some true Colonial era homes. I've done genealogy, and ALL of my family lines came through the South, including Alabama, and some as far back as Jamestown, and the tobacco colonies in Virginia. I am kin to the Garners (including distant cousin to John Nance Garner) and one forefather who served in the Rev. war later settled in Alabama. I've dreamed of going on a genealogy research trip to the courthouses, libraries, archives, museums and cemeteries where my family came from. I did do a lot of research in Louisiana and was thrilled once when I found records from a Primitive Baptist Church (on microfilm held at the Noel Library at LSUS in Shreveport) which were recorded by my great-grandfather, who was the record keeper. Realizing I was reading his actual handwriting was actually thrilling! Thank you for this very diverting and enjoyable video and HAPPY BIRTHDAY early to the Tartan Topiary! Did you ever imagine you would create this career in film for yourself, with such total creative control? What a blessing. Life is so surprising!

    • @thetartantopiary
      @thetartantopiary  5 місяців тому

      Life is indeed surprising. I appreciate your passion for your genealogy. My grandmother loved doing research for that. Once that bug bites you- there is no turning back. Reading your history from your grandfather's handwritten documents is a great story. I love it!

    Don’t even get me started with drinks by the pool with Daniel. This will be very interesting. The book presented was another hit as far as I’m concerned. The deep colors were a favorite. I’ve discovered deep colors look best on me And therefore my favorite color scene. Black is my favorite!! You can put anything with it and it is perfect. I’m not sure if you mentioned the price of the book but I might have missed that part. The music was so appropriate for the book and the visit to the manor. I love visiting places like that. Will be looking forward to the conclusion of this tour.

    • @thetartantopiary
      @thetartantopiary  5 місяців тому

      These interiors were very smart. They were interesting and stimulating. I can't remember if I mentioned the price either, but used copies are available on several websites. Due to the unique fabric used to cover the book, each cover will vary slightly (same fabric, but different cut) so don't let that confuse you.

    I had neither heard of the magazine or the book,,very interesting , need to check it out . My Great,great grandfather died in a prison in North Carolina. Jason Harris ,he was a gunsmith and engraver,there are guns in the Smithsonian of his and they are very collectible if you can find one .BUT during the Civil War he made Silver Dollars,the way he got caught was he put too much silver in them 🤣 experts could not tell them from real ones from just looking at them. Maybe that’s where my love of collecting coins comes from,also my love of hand engraving,so a little about my family tree 🤣and North Carolina jails. Please tell Daniel…Happy Father’s Day 🌿🍃
