  • Testing the Lane Assist (LA) and Travel Assist (TA) at the same corner and same speed and lets see what the Real differnces are. If you want to exactly know what both does google is your friend :)
    But and excerpt:
    Lane Assist Detects the Markings/Roadside objects and gives you a warning and pulls it slowly away from the "danger"
    Travel Assist keeps you active at the center of the road.

    Thanks for sharing the difference between LA & TA! I thought also that the Lane Assist would at least do some ping-pong and not let the vehicle to pass the lane markings - even not in a very smooth way. But LA seems to let you slip over the markings in the corner... Is the LA implementation somehow even milder and later reacting, if the car has also TA?

    • @EV.Furkan
      @EV.Furkan  3 роки тому +1

      LA does ping pong on a more straight road. it lets you drive on the line and then things.. Welp.. lets vibrate your steering and lets move you back [with an orange warning on the dash/hud. its pretty "relaxed" as warning systems come.
      Can try to capture a ping pong effect, but will need an empty road :P.

    Glad I have choosen for the 1st Max so I can use travel assist. What if you have travel assist activated and try to leave the lane. Will it let you do that?

    I really don't know why lane assist is the first to turn on then you have to press it again to acctivate Travel assist, in my opinion, cars with Travel assist should turn that on first only.
    Can't wait to get my id.3 with Travel assist.

    That was strange with Lane Assist. In other cars it does a ping pong between the lane so you don't cross it. At least travel assist worked!
    How are you finding the 21" wheels? Do you find it hard or uncomfortable?
    And what about all the buttons and switches. Some people say they feel cheap quality. ID.4 1st Max is on my shortlist so these are useful videos :-)

    • @EV.Furkan
      @EV.Furkan  3 роки тому +2

      you dont even know you have the 21" wheels. Reason is simple. Mine 1st max has DCC [Dynamic Chassis Control] and one of the things it regulates is the stiffness. At comfort mode is a nice smooth blanked, but you can set it even smoother [Min].. as a french car or you put it at sport mode and it stiffens abit more and you feel more bumps and stuff on the road, but you can but that to the max and feels like you have a Golf TCR GTI under your ass. it is reaaallllyyyy stiff. in the end, it doesnt matter if you are running 18's or 22's. DCC is magic.

    More confusion comes from the fact, that Skoda is using the term Lane Assist for the same feature as Travel assist in VW, and "Travel assist" for road signs reconition. Can't they use the same terminology in the VW group?

    • @EV.Furkan
      @EV.Furkan  2 роки тому

      for the MEB platform they are using the same terminology. only audi does it abit different with "active lane assist" for the q4 etron. which would have been lane assist plus for the skoda in old terms

    I wanted to buy an id4 1st then reading the comments I discovered that drive assist it’s only on Max ed. Non sense that a 50k plus optionals car is not equipped with it and it can’t be added as an optional either..

    • @EV.Furkan
      @EV.Furkan  3 роки тому

      See travel assist as the 'auto pilot' of Tesla (not fsd yet). You need all the sensors in the car and the first non-max is lacking some. You need the 1st max/tech or max edition fo TA. You really need the side assist for it and perhaps areaview/cameras

    Hello Furkan
    I am afraid your mixing Lane Assist with ACC which is maintaining automatically the distance between your car and the one before you. Lane Assist is only available during Travel Assist and you can see when it is active on the dashboard showing the lanes of the road you are driving on in green if the system has detected them

    • @EV.Furkan
      @EV.Furkan  3 роки тому +2

      No not true, when you are not driving with ACC and TA[travel assist]. Lane Assist [LA] will still work if you enabled it in the settings [always on here]. LA is working when the Dash/Hud is showing WHITE markings/objects. then you know the system is seeing the roadmarkings/objects and will "help" you. When it doesnt register a thing it stays GREY/Empty. When you Enable TA and LA is registering objects/markings the lines will be GREEN, otherwise it stays GREY/Empty. You can see this good at my AR HUD Video. its a mix of TA on and off. but always LA on.
      What i did is actually press "set" and set the speed for LA test. So LA + ACC + Front assist [FA] is on. When i press the TA button: LA + ACC + FA + Side Assist[SA] + Emergency Assist [EA] gets used together. the ID.4 1st non-max doesnt have Side assist [blindspotwarning] and so Travel assist and so emergency assist.

  • @DeeSock

    The video has me questioning. Can Travel Assist detect just hand grip instead of hand pull? Do you ever feel the need to takeover sometimes even on "simple" motorways?

    • @EV.Furkan
      @EV.Furkan  2 роки тому +1

      Cars with travel assist have capacitive steeringwheeels. So putting your hand at 17 or 19 hour is enough, dont need to pull, just a small grip. At easy(all with good road markings) motorways you can drive for hours without taking over the system with just holding like that
