- In this second episode of restoring a 1949 Spartan Manor 25, join me as I get the tires changed out and as I pull apart the wheel hub to check on the bearings and pack them with grease.

I restored a '49 Manor and glad you kept the original axle. Many people are quick to ditch for a Dexter or new import axle because it's "easy and cheaper" both a myth. I stress to other restorers everything on the original set up is made of so much better material than you can get today. Everything from the shackle bolts to springs, brake coils and drums are high quality and can be rebuild for a few dollars. I bead blasted everything, magnifluxed my hubs for cracks, replaced wheel studs and found a couple extra sets of USA made bearings and seals. Will last for another 70+ years. Keep up the good work.
Ah very cool! I checked out your videos and that bathroom looks great. Love the logo on the glass. And you got those window frames near the bed SHINY! I've been thinking about the bathroom/shower layout the most and can't wait to have the floor in to play with ideas more. Having those wheel wells in the way does restrict options quite a bit.
I really enjoy the concept that I'm working on something so many hands made 70 years ago, and hoping that our work now will be appreciated many years in the future as well.
“if you are not interested in this part, just skip ahead to the wheel bearings” 😅❤
Did you skip ahead so you could repack your bearings? 😉
CR stands for Chicago Rawhide. NAPA has interchange catalogs for most of these seals and bearings.
Ah, I think old seals of various types used to be made of leather, so that name makes some sense!
lots of pieces!
The bearings were more simple to do than I anticipated!
