Yaaas queen 🙌🏼 So awesome that you're thinking about sustainability in fashion! 💖 Just one correction, H&M's conscious collection isn't ethically produced, it's also produced in sweatshops like all other h&m clothes 😖 Would love to see you make a video reviewing Reformation clothing! 😍
I have seen a few people saying that sustainable brands are more expensive. This is true, but often the quality is far superior and the clothes last longer, meaning you don’t have to buy as much over time. Though, I know how fun shopping sprees can be! Anyway, great video, thank you for sharing and educating! 💜
Good point - a lot of sustainable brands will also stand by the product more than fast fashion brands, meaning if there are defects or it breaks down quickly they'll send a new one or help repair it (Patagonia for example)
And the low cost of the other clothes are normally at a humans expense....whether that's by them spraying cotton unprotected or low wages and poor working conditions or bans against unionization.
Hi Patricia, really like the idea! In the last 2-3 years I’ve been trying to shop ethically. I’ve never tried finisterre and I’ll look into it! But I don’t think I’ll try h&m conscious, because to me it seems like an effort to “greenwash” a little bit their brand. I think it’s better to support only sustainable brands :) there are a lot of nice sustainable and ethical brands! In the UK there is people tree which is really nice. Bye :)
Sometimes its better to slowly introduce something when it comes to the general population that may otherwise not have bothered with sustainable fashion until they see their favourite brands starting to introduce it and garner interest one step at a time.
Rainie B. that is an interesting thing I didn’t think of!! Yes you are probably right, the general public will accept better if their favorite brands start with ethical lines. My concern was the brand itself, many try to do some greenwashing and not to be cynical but I don’t think big corporation do that because they really care. AnniMaria33 I work in H&M right now, 5 months so far, and the clothing with the green conscious tags ARE sustainable. We do not lie about anything. These clothes are made by the clothes that are donated to us by customers. There is a scheme where you can donate one bag of any clothing/fabric, and you get a conscious voucher, meaning going get £5 off if you spend £25 or more. The clothing that’s sold with the green conscious tags are made by those donated clothes. It’s also worth mentioning that we’ve stopped giving out plastic bags, and only do paper bags, which we do still charge 5p for, which goes towards UNICEF (Which IS true). We might not be 100% sustainable, but not all shops are, but we are definitely going into the right direction. Along with that, some of our conscious clothes have ‘promotions’. Like for kids conscious clothes, we do 3 for 2. Along with some ladies shirts, you can get a pack of 2/3 shirts for a VERY good price. Then again, nobody forces you to shop here in H&M.
Shouldn't we be encouraging big companies like H&M to do this sort of thing, though? Like, if people bought more of that green conscious line, then maybe H&M would invest MORE in it instead of the fast fashion?
@@gisselldow2102 yes of course, that would be amazing if H&M turned into a fully ethical brand. But the truth is, they are doing that whole conscious green thing because they want to attract more customers. If everyone ONLY shopped their green line, then maybe they would get the point. Right now, I think they're just going with a trend.
Each bag of old fabrics you bring into H&M you get a £5 voucher and they recycle the fabrics to use in their clothes (I believe only the conscious collection but not sure) And they’ve also recently started using paper bags (still cost 5p that is donated to charity to deter people from buying one use bags). Definitely not the most sustainable brand (or ethical) but it’s at least a step in the right direction and helps make their customers aware of something they may have otherwise not cared for.
the problem being that the way they are doing it, they are fooling their customers, actually. People shouldn't even be buying from H&M in the first place :( not until they really improve things, at least.

H&m is a popular brand with some sustainable products. Though it's not the most sustainable by her doing a video where you can find cute clothes while being ethical you gotta give her some credit. They used regenerated fibres which are much more sustainable than natural fibres as less processes are used and its made in a closed loop system. They've used recycled polyester and they allow customers to drop off old clothes in store to be recycled. Whether it's actually recycled I don't know but the idea could encourage consumers to be more aware of their choice in clothing and cause them to look into sustainability more. Knowledge on sustainability is still poor, everyone's still learning :)
i love this video! Fast fashion is so bad for the environment but people wanna look nice and have nice trendy clothes, I would love it if this became a series on your channel!
Sometimes, when you spend more, even on basic items you find the quality to be far superior and therefore better in how they last, and fit, wash etc, which in that way saves you money. Fast fashion is a good way to fill the landfills while emptying bank accounts.
Enjoyed this haul Patricia, it was quite unique!! Would love to see a Drug store/DIY at home spa session with a bit of chit chat!!! Think we all could join in and do a bit of unwinding after a long week of work/school!!
I'm really excited for you that you're becoming interested in sustainable fashion! I highly recommend watching a documentary called "The true cost" It really informed me of the human aspect of garment production. I would love to see you do videos with the clothes you already have, and cut down on hauls.
I have a question. I’ve tried to be conscious (no pun intended) about not wearing wool, cashmere, alpaca, or fur because of bad and inhumane acquisition practices. Lately, my only affordable option are fabrics that are, for the most part, entirely synthetic or partly synthetic. I find that these articles of cloth generally last just as long and well as a more expensive “natural fiber” fabric. Does anyone else feel the same that it doesn’t necessarily have to be fashion blogger approved or expensive or natural fiber for clothing to look good and wear well?? Thanks for sharing this informative and important message.
The Luxury Hybrid Great question. I have bought clothes from Pretty Little Things, MissPap and other brick and mortar shops like H&M and Zara. I have jumpers, trousers and jackets that have help up just as well up perfectly fine. I had no idea about wool and cashmere though. They are inhumane? I thought it was only fur. Do you wear leather?
Hi, i think these videos on sustainable fabrics might help clearing doubts! Check it out! ua-cam.com/video/3GQaOoyQIDw/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/qW5Yfo4amQU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/b_I6W9PNd_E/v-deo.html
Yes I wear leather. I’m a hypocrite as of now, but I’m taking realistic measures to eventually find a balance of sustainability and cruelty free lifestyle. As for the sheep, no they are not killed but they are also reproducing their coat at an unnatural rate due to how often they are shaved down. It interrupts the homeostasis in their systems, and they eventually OverGrow to the point that painful skin folds start to develop and their coat becomes extremely heavy. Killing an animal is not the only means of cruelty.
Good for the environment would be to donate to others who need it. There are women and children shelters that could use your clothing that you haven’t worn or won’t wear. I go through my clothes every 6months to a year and if I haven’t worn it, I donate it to my church (we have a food and clothing bank) but before that I used to donate to the shelters around here. When I ran Walmart stores I used to donate the clearance clothing and shoes that I needed to get out of my store to shelters too. Men, woman and children. Or sell them and donate part of the proceeds to charity of your choice. You could also re-work your clothing into other items. Like an example, I took an old dress my mother left me when she passed but it wasn’t my style at all. I didn’t want to give that away because it was moms. So, I tore it apart and made a new pencil skirt out of it (it was so cut up and bunched together I didn’t have much material to work with)! So there are so many ways you can be environmentally conscious without feeling guilt for buying more stuff and actually makes way for new items. Love your videos and you’re a beautiful woman.
A girl doing something good for the clothing industry! So happy that u are trying some sustainable clothes. Go support that and help the world!! Lots of love

:OO I actually think the red off the shoulder jumper looks amazing on you! Doesn't look frumpy at all, you look so faaaab. Thanks for all of the reviews, such a great idea to look into sustainable wear!
1.H&M is burning tons of texils because of overproduction, producing way to many low quality clothes made out of synthetic fibers by people who work in unhuman conditions etc. So supporting them in anyway is not really what you want if you`re into sustainability. 2. Well made, high quality clothing which last you long has its price for a reason. There is a long working process behind every piece. If you do not wanna spent that much money shop second hand and maybe invest in good basics. Second hand is the most sustainable way of consuming because nothing new is produced
If you don’t like to iron you can hang the clothes in the bathroom when you take a shower and the steam with help with the creases. Hope this helps! Love you❤️❤️
Loved the video. Just a thought... I threw out my iron years ago and went strictly steamer. It's easy and only takes literally a minute to get all the wrinkles out.
I am very impressed with this line and you could add a belt to the denim t-shirt to snatch the waste, and put the tops over that mini black dress you had on before so it would look like a black skirt

Where did you get your beautiful black top!! 🤩
I was pleasantly surprised by some of the looks!!!! It's great to know that sustainable fashion has such great looks!!!
"You know, nowadays clothing isn't for wearing but more for, like, pretending" 😂😂😂
I feel you HARD! I DESPISE ironing as well and use a clothes steamer instead! Its SOOO much easier and quicker!
H&M is not an ethical sustainable brand. Don't let them fool you! Still love you and your videos though💕💕
I'm really excited for you that you're becoming interested in sustainable fashion! I highly recommend watching a documentary called "The true cost" It really informed me of the human aspect of garment production. I would love to see you do videos with the clothes you already have, and cut down on hauls.
Don't iron Patricia!!...get yourself a little garment steamer, it's soooooo easy and super fast.
the orange jumper actually looks fantastic patricia! so do the flowery tops.
What is wrong with wool? Do they kill the sheep to get the wool? I don't think so.
Hi, i think these videos on sustainable fabrics might help clearing doubts! Check it out!

This is what I mean
I subscribed a couple of days ago. Now I'm going to buy your book! You truly are a self made woman, so Brava! Good for you!
Company: "We're environmentally conscious now."
Also companies: wraps EVERY item in a plastic bag
Looove the blazer with jeans look, looks so sophisticated - especially since the jeans arent super skinny!
Patricia will you and mike be giving us travel vlogs again 😩 we miss them!!
I love you being you! Thanks for always keeping it REAL
“Clothing is not for wearing, it’s for pretending to wear” -Patricia 2019 Style tip 👌🏾 😂😂 You make my day every time...I actually liked grandma’s tablecloth top on you 😁
YAAAAASSSSS! Author Patricia Bright in the house!!! 😜😜😜😜🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️
Very well said!
🎯🎯🎯
PREACH.
So glad you did this Patricia!!!!! Thank you for sharing on your platform.
"Are you Margaret Thatcher?" I literally fell out of my chair
I love your personality, your channel, you. Wishing you and your family all the best.

Love your haul videos :) but would love some outfits of the day, or week, favourite pieces of the season etc..❤️
She gives me life just by watching her videos
YESSSSSS PAT GET INTO THIS SUSTAINABLE N ETHICAL FASHION. this is a really good first step!
I love clothing and fashion too but I’m just broke... new subbie I love your personality...cracks me up
If you don’t like to iron you can hang the clothes in the bathroom when you take a shower and the steam with help with the creases. Hope this helps! Love you❤️❤️
I love you Patricia, but every time you wear those one strap toe shoooooes😂😹😂😹🤣🤣
OfficialJaelTV 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I know when I’m sleepy I get either quiet or super talkative lol. I’m ready for this video
Loved the video. Just a thought... I threw out my iron years ago and went strictly steamer. It's easy and only takes literally a minute to get all the wrinkles out.
This is what I love about u Patricia you're willing to get scammed for us... 😭😭😭😭😭😭 YOU'RE A REAL ONE 💯💯💯
I am very impressed with this line and you could add a belt to the denim t-shirt to snatch the waste, and put the tops over that mini black dress you had on before so it would look like a black skirt
I see Patricia, I click
Loved the intro to this Patricia, you're always so honest and genuine 💙
"Are you Margaret Thatcher?" 😂😂😂
Lyocell / Tencel is made from bamboo! That black dress was so cute 💕
8:25 you look like Tatiana (the girl) from MJ's short film The Way You Make Me Feel!!
What a compliment
Yes please more sustainable fashion. Like go to pieces with modern twist. So many good brands without enough publicity
conscious clothing under 10£? it's unreal ! greenwashing from H and M. But I stan the concept of trying out sustainable brand and the direction you're trying to take!
Both orange sweaters look fantastic on you. The one you didn't like is my favorite (for me). You look good in everything.
"Are you Margaret Thatcher?" Patricia you have the best punchlines!
I love love love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ all the collections particularly the denim shirt on the black jeans.
Your voice is so raspy and I love it and I'm hoping you're doing better!!!
I love long jeans shirts! I wear mine with camisole, partially buttoned.
I cant believe this is 11th on trending
You go girl 🥰🥳
The Jeans look bomb! and deffo wanna purchase the black dress, such a cute staple
H&M is fair from sustainable!! And if they are doing this collection it is only because they are aware their dirty secrets r out!
But think about it, if it's sustainable. How the heck can they sell it dirt cheap!? 😢
And if your interested in knowing, watch "the true cost" on Netflix. Especially if your into your fashion and what not. The more people are aware, it's going to make things better for everyone involved.
this isn't a collection it's s sub department of their brand. And it actually comes in pretty slow.
I love your videos! Can you do a video on how to dress cute using winter outfits?
Thotianna🤣🤣 I'm crying😂
i’m so happy u made this video
"I like being at the beach.... I put a toe in." - Patricia, February 2019. Relatable
The pink hoodie looked so cute on you!!!!❤️❤️❤️💖💖💖
Hi Aunty Patty!!! Any maternity clothing brands you recommend? Or anyone else in the comments section??💞
My mom always advised me to not over buy when pregnant cause you end up with a wardrobe full of clothes that dont fit you. My sil got her jeans from K mart and target and also found some nice tops there. Asos, Iconic and boohoo also do maternity Im pretty sure, for those days you want to be a sexy mama! Congratulations if you're expecting (im assuming so😅) 💙💙
Namue Hollywood thank you!! 💞 Yes I’m 9 weeks at the moment but I really had no idea where to find nice maternity clothes for later on lol
Tabitha Gonzalez thank you! 💞That’s great to know!
Agreed ! Don’t go too overboard unless you plan on having many more ;) lol congratulations!! The maternity section at target’ worked for me , I even found great jeans in clearance
Andrea Camargo awww I’m 9 months along, I haven’t bought any new clothes Except for the bra from Walmart, I just wore leggings and sweats the whole time if that’s helpful
haven't seen many big influencers talk about sustainable fashion, so thank you for this!
