i believe i read somewhere that this month’s book is a companion novel to the shadows between us, so i ordered that one and am patiently awaiting its arrival. 😁 both books sound good and the box was fun. the scrunchie looks really good on you!
i think my least favorite item might be the water bottle - i’ll be using that even less than the scrunchie. it looks pretty, though.
i’ll need to do some cleaning on my bookends as they’re a bit sticky on the bottom. the little felt knobs didn’t quite hit the glue spots everywhere, so there’s sticky glue about. i’ll figure it out.
apropos sticky, i had a regular hardback of the other side of night delivered today, which had half a barcode sticker on the book and the rest sticking out. naturally, i pulled it. but it was one of those super nasty ones that don’t come off, remain in bits, and everything is sticky. so i got the blow drier.. eventually i was able to scratch the remains off with my nails, but the whole area remained sticky. i think, on a pretty book at least, i’d rather leave the sticker on than risking sticky remains. (or scratch marks).
my fairyloot adult book arrived today, looks really pretty, but came with a dog ear at the bottom of the front endpaper 😢 it will flatten over time but the crease isn’t going anywhere. 😢 ah, well..
i actually skipped my fairyloot subscriptions for july (adult book is a duplicate of another box i get and i’m not sure about the YA book as it might read too young for me), so i’m quite excited for your video to see what i’m missing out on. same for july’s evernight box - i wouldn’t be able to read it but very much look forward to your unboxing!

Yellowstone is a darker series but a series that leaves you needing to know 😂

Oh no that's unfortunate hopefully the glue comes off easy enough for you.
That is the issue with removing the sticks. I hate those little buggers so much 😂Its just so difficult to remove them. So annoying.
You are not having luck with the condition of the items in your book boxes are you. So disappointing.
I always think about skipping boxes then I get to much FOMO and keep it 😂 plus I like to unbox them for you all.
I did see it and I am currently on the waiting list 👀so exciting🎉

@@cuddysbookshelf yes, the FOMO is strong with these boxes. i knew it was a sensible decision but there’s still the little nagging “what if” in the back of my mind. 😆
the green bone saga is up next for the TBB fantasy subscription. i was so excited when they announced it. hearing such good things about the trilogy and really want to read it. then the designs for the covers and edges were revealed a couple days ago.. i don’t like them. at all. 🫣 but i’m still torn about requesting to skip the series. keep thinking what, if they don’t look as bad in person. and, of course, i don’t know what the last series of the year will be. so there’s the what, if i need my one skip for whatever that is in case i’m not interested in the series. better to get the not so pretty green bone saga that i am at least excited to read than having to get some books i might not be wanting to read. and so my thoughts keep circling. 🤣
if the waitlists for these subscriptions weren’t as endless, it would be a bit easier. 🤷🏼♀️
goldsboro will be launching a third subscription for crime novels. only 2 skips per year allowed. i, at least, didn’t sign up for that one. 🤣 i’m still curious to see what they’ll be doing book-wise for this new subscription. i do like me a thriller/mystery novel every now and then. i’m currently actually reading one, a slow fire burning. it’s unbelievably depressing. every character has such a hard life. but it’s still good, so far. and i’m very much looking forward to the new riley sager after having had such a good time reading last year’s.
ooh, remember how excited i was about that pop art frankenstein book by puffin/penguin? the matching dracula one arrived!! so, so gorgeous! love these two editions. both are floppy as well. 🥰
That is a hard one. I did see the TBB editions of them. I agree that they are not the best looking of books. I think it is because the edges are so different to the covers just makes it all look odd. But I understand your thoughts on the skipping. At least this is a series you want.

I hadn't heard about the crime novel subscription that will be interesting.
I have just read that one and yes all of the characters are morally grey. I think it keeps you guessing throughout that book.
I want to read more of Riley Sagers books I have really enjoyed my reads so far.

@@cuddysbookshelf i’m relieved to hear you say that. everyone seems so pleased with the designs and TBB gave special thanks to fonda lee for aiding the design process, so i feel like i’m not seeing something. 🤣 to me, book 1 looks like harry potter and books 2 and 3 look like, admittedly very nice, tv guide adverts. the edges don’t fit the dust jackets, and the popping colors make them look like much lighter YA fare. 🤷🏼♀️
ah, well.. i guess i’ll keep them, see how they look in person.

ooh, what a coincidence that you’ve just read a slow fire burning. you must’ve shown it in your tbr unwrapping and i apparently completely forgot 🫣 i will need to pick something lighter and happier as my next read. reading about so many characters with so much trauma and hardship is tough. but, yea, it’s still very interesting and a good read. i really liked girl on a train, believe i listened to the audiobook around the time it released (whenever that was) and was a bit surprised to recently come across quite a few unfavorable reviews. i thought it was very good. 🤷🏼♀️
