I recommend trying out the Private Reserve Infinity inks. They're designed to not dry out as quick, so supposedly you can leave your cap off as you sit for longer note-taking sessions. But they seem to be a decent cure for pens with dry out issues. For instance, my Pilot Metropolitan tends to dry out fairly quickly, if I'm not using it every day (the cap just may not have a very good seal). So far, inking it up with an Infinity ink seems to have solved the problem.
Thanks for the suggestion! And I might give one of those inks a go if I decide to keep the pen. My main thing is that most users are not having the dry out issue, so I'm going to try to contact Ensso and see what they suggest if anything.
Nice selection of ink. I think the orange and bronze the most. The innso was a let down. I have several TWSBI with zero issues with the nibs. My only issue has been with a mini vac. The filler cap has come off twice.
Newish to channel and have been using fountain pens for a few years now. I don’t have a great grasp on using micromesh to fix nib issues. Maybe a good topic for future episode, or you can direct me to a good resource? I have a couple pens I think would benefit. Thanks!
Sad. With the not retracting bit, I've found that to be a combination of just needing to wear in the seal, but also if the ink gets sticky on the nib when it dries, it start sticking and not wanting to retract even after being broken in. I'm gonna try to reach out to Ensso and see if I can get some feedback or suggestions.
Better writing experience, customized writing experience, reduced hand fatigue if you write a lot (good for college students or a lot of notes or long letters), reusability and less waste (not disposable and one fountain pen can last a lifetime), etc.
@@thestationerydev I understand how these are superior to ballpens, I was just struggling to think of the use cases for any pens in any of the "mainstream" jobs of today. But schools and colleges do indeed make sense. 😀
great collection thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I love my Faber Castell e-motion in black. It has a wonderfully smooth nib. But, the darn thing is so heavy. Like 60 grams of metal
Oh yeah, it's a big boi. But I guess that is one advantage of the wood model, is it makes the weight a little more manageable. Glad you enjoy yours!

Thanks! Yeah, I must just have bad luck with the TWSBIs out the box, but once I tune them, they are fantastic!

I’ve had a similar experience with my titanium Bolt. I have the added nuisance of the pen not wanting to retract.

@ that would be excellent!
What a shame about the ensso bolt, can't you return it?
Yeah, I suppose I could. Before that, I might reach out to Ensso to see if they have any ideas/remedies.
Pelikan Brilliant Black is a very dry ink and not lubricated, I personally hate it
To each their own! It depends, but I tend to like drier inks just as much as wetter inks. Just what I'm in the mood for at the moment, I suppose.
Why does anyone use this type of pens today? Just as a hobby?
These are perminium
