Wow! I actually remember this whole skit from when I was a kid, particularly the 'can i pick you up' joke. Cheers for the laughs Hughesy! you're a legend mate.
Hi Dave, I saw a skit of yours from the Daryl Somers special last year with you talking about the dole office, which was really funny. I think it was your first TV appearance on Red Faces. I would love it if you had it here on UA-cam. Thanks 😊
Its no wonder Dave is so successful. He's real. His shows are always packed out, hes a massive TV & radio success & an very good, humble & down to earth friend. Australia could do with more artists like him. ✌🏻 ~Nick James (Melbourne, Australia)
@@eldoroonie Nah that's bullshit. I'm reposting this from previous: I used to hang out with Dave in Perth at the start of his career in the early 90's. You may not care for his comedy but I can tell you why he made it. He had a lot of focus, a lot of discipline and guts. Really it's that simple. He had a crack. We didn't know if he would make it. But he did. So there ya go. You have to at least respect a bloke that had f*ck all, came from f*ck all and with just will power and courage made something special of his life. Good luck to him
I'd like to see half of you try to do standup on a popular show. You wont even be half as funny as Dave Hughes. I think this is absolutely hilarious & half of you dont have any taste in humour. Clearly your not his audience.
This reminds me of him calling into 3RRR on Friday mornings and also not being funny while such a low hanging dropkick (who was finally empower-rewarded on commercial TV ......to 'help' The Project viewers/sheep NOT aspire or ask for more/better).

By actively seeking out diverse perspectives and engaging in continuous learning, we can cultivate empathy and compassion for others. This allows us to not only appreciate the differences that make each individual unique but also to understand the challenges they may face. Through this understanding, we can work towards dismantling systemic barriers and creating equal opportunities for all. It’s 2024 and still waiting for him to say something funny 😞
Nd that nose piercing voice! Can't stand the flogg!
Classic, so true, lol
He has been an imposter his whole career

Other than Dave Hughes’ classic humour, one thing I’m reminded of in this clip is that Livinia Nixon was as gorgeous 23 years ago as she is now!
Humour? lol
@@keekwai2Classic? 😂😂
Why are people watching if they don’t like him? Ffs, just go past the video. It’s worth it just to see his hair.
His hair is magnificent.
Is there a video of the 1997 appearance ?
his voice grew on us 1 of a kind now a famous aussie comedian
Worst Australian comedian ever
He was not funny even back then.

He's not gonna fuck you Nick.
Shocking
I remember Hughesy's rise to fame, so seeing him now makes me feel pretty fkn old. Don't know what's with the haters, maybe dole people...
One of the most unfunny overrated comedians ever. His voice is punishing
Love ya Hughesy
Never could stand this bloke ...
He's even worse today.
yep, he's the pits...apparently, the only thing worse than his comedy is his personality
There's worse than Dave Hughes, one I can name is Peter Helliar

God awful. How did his career not end right here?
Because he had guts and drive
Why are they laughing?
The stagehands were bribing them with free merch.
That's Australian childish unintelligent humour 😊

David Hughes. Not funny then. Not funny now.
luckiest man with no talent

Not funny. Simple as that. Only a bogan who wasn't the sharpest pencil in the box would think he's funny ... like a couple of the commenters here.
The one and only..
One and only? Bullshit. There are MANY unfunny, not too bright, wannabe comedians out there. (and their not too bright fans)
He's polished his act a bit over the years....he needed to......but no surprise the bogans loved him from the start.
