How to paint simple Gemstones

ln this video I'll be showing how to paint gemstones. It's an ideal technique for painting them on your miniatures, and the same method can be used to do gemstones of different colours by replacing the blue with whichever colour you want, and using the relevant shade.

Do you spray the entire model with matt varnish and then apply the gloss varnish on top?

Awesome tutorial, thanks mate. If I was to to try Purple gems using Citadel colours, which would you recommend?

Cheers Rusty, very much appreciated! :-) I'd start with Xereus Purple, wash with Druchii Violet and then build up with Zereus Purple, then add increasing amounts of White to it. Should give the same results as this one. :)

Stunning! I’d really love to know how you did the white ones too. I would like to make something look like moonstone, but I’m not really sure how. Any advice?
