I’m a bit nervous now. Because my bad you don’t see a continuous leather. It’s not as apparent as yours but nevertheless there’s a break. I spent hours and mostly all I see on real real or fashionphile has the one mark. Can I send you a picture for your opinion?

I love purchasing luxury while traveling. It always brings back wonderful memories.
I will say that I have been so turned off by Hermès’ policy of creating scarcity, picking and choosing to whom to sell vs not sell. Take it or leave it bag/color, etc.. It’s rather ridiculous. Plus, of course, all the super fakes at a fraction of the cost…. Ughhh!!
Yea Hermes definitely likes to play games. But I will say, my experience at their boutique had been wonderful. I was treated with respect and gave me the warm and fuzzies. I will still buy from them and play their game, you just gotta damper your expectations. I did release an entire video about fake vs real and why I don't buy fakes anymore but I had to make it private because I don't want to get flagged. Even tho the video is truly educational. Thanks for your input!

Very nice comparison! That interior stitching is a giveaway. Curious to know if the VAT was refunded to you at the time of sale with your passport or did you need to submit a form for it?
Hi! The VAT refund usually takes about 3 weeks for it to be refunded to your credit card. The SA will do everything for you as long as your provide them with your passport. Or you can get the cash refund at the airport. Which I think the fee is higher so you will get less back. Hope that answers your question!

I think the Picotin 18 I got from Rebag is fake but I can’t return it; I also keep looking at photos of legit ones online in the same color and can’t tell the difference. There’s just something about the sound when you hit it and the squishy was of the leather but it smells like real leather, idn. Too hard to tell with the raw leather goods.

@@Somehowadulting hmmm I originally thought the bottom is a bit too stiff maybe like cardboard and it bows a little, and the stitching is a bit too uniform; didn’t come with a lock so I used my own. But now I see the measurements seem real (18 x 14 cm on bottom, 7 inch strap); weighs 1.13 lbs w. Lock (but it’s supposed to be barenia?); there’s a tiny seam that could be a crack at the bottom molding, not like the overlapping fold on your friends’; inside of the bottom is continuous - maybe it is real!
@@constitutionalcarrot3720 hmm based on my research the Picotin only came in cleamance and Epson for the regular leathers. I searched quite hard on that to make sure. Perhaps double check with like real authentication as well?
I have auth picotins and rep picotins - the rep ones from individual higher tier makers are pretty much impossible to tell the difference. They use the same waxed thread, will import the leathers, and will make by hand. It is one of those things that seeing that now - I don't buy on the resell market - when I buy auth I only buy from the boutique.

Hi, thanks a lot for your video. I bought a 2nd hand Picotin recently and I sense it may be a fake. I would like to ask you two questions: Can you please tell me whether the font on the lock is neat or whether it has a shadow? Can you please also tell me the with of the strap? Thanks a lot!
Hi! So the width of the strap is 1in or 2.5cm. not sure I understand what you mean about the lock?
They are almost identical. It would be really hard to spot that as a fake without doing a side by side comparison.

Yea it took us a little bit to figure out all the differences. You would never know. It's scary how good they're getting.

well honestly I was always against fakes but I low-key got into fakes and now my collection has fakes and reales cus indeed almost no one knows the difference.

That’s what I do to now. 98% of mine are real and got in boutiques but I can’t spend 3k on a bucket of leather or the Goyard Anjou it’s fabric and leather tiny. They’re just so unstructured that these 2 are the ones I don’t mind being “fake” it’s real leather and shape. I work in the designer world so it changes things cause, they’re just things.
