In regards to the Shield Generator voicelines, even Ram has had them since his launch. They're probably just futureproofing in case they ever do bring back a shield generator for something, be it an event or on an actual hero. What doesn't make sense though, is why Illari Pylons are still referred to as generic sentries...
Additionally, they also refer Widow as "a sniper" instead of calling her out. Which is weird because they do not say the sniper line when going against an Ana
@@anunusualstoutshako728 hanzo exists too, also they used to call them out by "sniper" but people decided it's too confusing if there were multiple snipers in one team
in overwatch 1 9:56 they had ult charge for mitigation. Rein used to get ult charge from using his shield. They removed, like many things such as bastion's sheild, and self heal. They thought it was too strong to let Rein soak damage just to do a burst of damage.
I hate how reliant I have to be on my supports as a tank, because for every 20 games I get bad healers and 1 or 2 good ones. Not to mention you cannot win any fights without a tank
burst dmg heroes (that includes all snipers) end up doing more damage to tanks after the armor changes, Cassidy, Sojourn, Ashe, Widow, all of them do more damage against armored tanks. What the heck were the dev team thinking.
(in reference to 11:00 and the mitigation thing) instead of it giving ult charge, if you just want it to FEEL good, make sure the sound of mitigating is a good sound. i know it's silly, but there's something to say for the sound of getting headshots with kiri. other heroes i'll get headshots but it just doesn't make you feel as happy. let tanks have a rewarding sound for dmg they mitigate (or maybe that'd be too much audio-clutter idkkkk)
In the first tik tok when it was talking about references to other things, theres also a reference to dark souls in the form of a bonfire in third point eichenwalde
When it come to ult charge for mitigation, it could be on a .25x multiplier so it’s not a 1 to 1 charge. That way mitigation isn’t the primary way to charge your ult but you’re still at least getting something
for the first, like day tanks felt harder to kill. i noticed that i was surviving for a few seconds longer then normal. it felt so good to actually notice that i was able to last as a reinhardt. then on day two people adjusted to the changes and now i run into the same problem i have always had. i can't charge in if my health goes from full to zero before i even reach the enemy team.
I hear it for the Hog. Had a match on King's Row where we were absolutely dominating basically 2 METRES from the FINAL WIN POINT, then the enemy swapped to Hog and it was GG. No matter what I did, hell I went JQ, Sigma, Mauga, DVa, nothing worked cos we couldnt get through Hog and Widow combo, even after bursting down his heal canister. The damage reduction and double buffing from supports is just too nasty on him.
Also YEEEESSSSS!! WE NEED THE ULT CHARGE! How tf does one mitigate 17152 damage as a fricking SIGMA and only generate full ult twice in a 20 minute game?!
I know I'm a noob, but as a tank, what am I supposed to do? I feel like to WIN a fight, I have to kill the DPS/Supports, but to protect my team, I have to apply pressure on the enemy tank to stop them from tanking. It's different with high skill lobbies (not the ones I'm in) but I just don't know what to do, most games I just pray my back line is better then the enemy backline I'll just try to be an intimidating presence
I still stand by that 6v6 could work if it isn’t 2 2 2 but rather 1 1 2 2 and have that new role be basically off tank. Any tank with no shield or shield like ability. So queen, hog, ball, doom, maybe mauga if you don’t count his ultimate. And from then it’s just a balancing to get main and off tank roles feeling good in general. You get two tanks without getting the two shield meta back.
I also thought that and then I rewinded to see how they could make the association to it and under propane it says propane accessories which is good enough for me but even after that there’s also a reason to believe it’s a baseless association
@@mikemcdonald3538 On second thought it has to be a reference lol. The term "Propane Accessories" just doesn't really make sense if it's not either a joke or a reference and it's not like it's an actual term you often see at places that sell propane outside of them being a reference.
ive swapped from playing only tank to playing only dps this week and I have been having so much more fun even though I suck at dps compared to tank. I play no aim heroes like winston and rein so my skills from those heroes don't transfer over to dps much.

genuine question: what EXACTLY are the arguments against 6v6 now? like yeah, in ow1, there were balance problems all around; im under no illusions about that. and i fully agree that most if not all of the biggest problems with balancing probably began with ana's anti-nade, just to be clear. however. the main issues with two tanks that ive seen raised in discussion have been a) double shield, and b) queue times. but double shield is easily fixed by either removing shields from tanks (eg orisa) or reducing effectiveness and increasing cd rotation (eg rein), which has already been done. if double shield is still somehow an issue and every comp is running rein-sig, refer to solution a: remove sig's shield. he's got another dmg mit ability anyway. and if that isn't an option, then break tanks into separate subroles with main tank and off tank, with only one of each on each team (not that i think it's necessary to go that far, im just saying it's an option that has been presented). as for queue times.... between sigma's release and the release of ow2, we got how many balance patches? how many new heroes? how many new maps? how many new events? there was next to **no new content** for years, so ofc queue times were miserable. and we were left with a terrible balance situation that favoured dps over both other roles, so obviously everyone wanted to play dps and nobody wanted to play tank or support. now, nobody wants to play tank bc it's absolutely miserable to take the abuse of EVERY player on the enemy team regardless of role, so the queue time problem hasn't been fixed anyway. so again, genuinely asking: what are the actual arguments against 6v6? (and pls don't say anything like "the devs don't plan on ever changing it so it doesn't matter"; im not asking bc i expect to change anyone's mind, least of all the devs. im just asking for the sake of discussion.)
i would say the biggest things for me are queue times and visual clutter. queue times in ow2 are already getting a bit longer, especially at higher ranks. so having to find another tank player for every team in every match would make that much longer. and with all the new ow2 heroes having crazy visual clutter (ram, kiri, lifeweaver, etc) adding another player into the mix would only be more visually oppressive. they need to tone back on the visuals a bit (maybe change the current heroes regardless of switching to 6v6 or not), but that isn't likely just from how the game plays now. i would say 6v6 and 5v5 are at neutral standing atm which means changing the game layout just wouldn't be worth it. having a 6v6 qp mode would be a good test for how it plays since a lot of the streamer scrims that tried out 6v6 are from people who like the game and are not the type of teammates you will actually play with and against should the game go back.
@@mentarium9741 the queue times problem has ALWAYS been a problem. before, it was a problem bc ow was virtually a dead game with almost no updates; now, it's bc nobody WANTS to play tank, bc of how miserable the experience is. having two tanks to split the attentions of the enemy team and cover each other's weaknesses would already vastly improve the tank experience and thus make people want to play it more (or at least avoid it less), which would in turn soften the queue time discrepancy between tank and other roles. also, i personally prefer 5-10 min average queue times over instantly getting another game bc the constant grind means if you start getting into a bad headspace then it gets way too easy to just spiral, whereas having a brief break between games gives you time to cool down after a frustrating loss so you can play better in the next game. all that said, i absolutely agree on visual clutter lmfao if you can break the game with an ult domino then something needs to be fixed XDD
8:20 if supports get ult charge from healing why don’t tanks get it for mitigation. Should each ability be equal? No. It much easier to mitigate with Ram than ball. I think there needs to be a relook at the distribution of ult charge.
