Im one of the few people that knows that this can be done and you don’t have to buy the whole wiper blade like they want you to do in any mechanic store . You save 40 dollars just by buying the inserts. This is amazing thank you for the so well explained video .
Thank you so much my friend for this very helpful video. Today early in the morning ( June 7, 2023 ) I tried to replaced the rubber inserts on the wipers of my 2013 Rav 4 and I could not do it. But now , after watching your video , I think I will be able to install new inserts. Thanks. From Puerto Rico , your friend Edwin Oliveras
Good video. My Toyota original blade was a bit different to remove. I still had to unlatch the top part but I had to press the bottom of the plastic holding the curved end on the blade. Then the metal piece pushed out easily. None of the videos I looked at showed that. Guess Toyota makes more than one type of blade.
Very handy guide as I need to do this on my 2020. In your description you list the part numbers as rear right and left, were these part numbers actually the front ones?
OEM wiper blade assembly is made out of plastic which will become brittle and crack over time, but it will generally last more than a year even in a very sunny, hot weather conditions, so it's always a good idea to just replace rubber inserts until this will actually happen.
makes sense ! i bought some full wiper replacements at costco , and when i got home and saw the originals i was in shock and i just could not understand how the originals looked SO much better , the housing is night and day different LOL .
@Morozov Automotive Hi guys, my windshield wipers (RAV4 ‘20MY) in intermittent mode stopped going all the way down - also intermittently. They may go down not completely and then up from where they stopped and then all the way down again. In constant mode they move up and down all the way. Please advise - but h suspect the relay may need to be replaced.

Wow thank you for making this video today I learned that you can absolutely change just the rubber without having to buy the whole part.

Thanks! Yep, my fault, the part numbers are for the front wiper inserts.

Спасибо за Ваш отзыв! Будем улучшать качество видеосъемки.
Thanks!
TY!! 😄🙏
Good
What do you suggest, is it better to buy the inserts or to buy the blades , i see that is cheaper than inserts , in one of your videos
Sweet! Do the blades themselves ever go bad or the rubber insert protects them?
The rubber goes bad. Most of the time the whole piece gets replaced. But you can replace only the rubber and save some money.
Plus, the OEM blades look so much better than the junky blades that typically come as unit replacements.

Except the fact that a new replacement wiper cost less or the same as just the insert alone.
My dealership sold me the inserts without the metallic pieces
You’re supposed to reuse the metal pieces from the one your replacing
wow 25 bucks geeezzzzz...
What is the width of the rubber band?
Thanks!
