Master Yang, You have influenced my Kung Fu for over 30 years. Your teachings have changed the world. it is with great awe I keenly watch your teachings, so simple and clear, yet I cannot keep it. Master Yang Jwing-Ming , a true Master. You have my sincerest gratitude.
I soooo love this form. Let year I began Tai chi training. And now I’m also incorporating TaiChi sword. I’m this day and time the ability to take ten minutes to go thru the forms have been amazingly therapeutic for me. Thanks for having this for beginners
I enjoyed watching this sword form demonstrated by master Yang. Smooth and continuous with high concentration. I loved the scenery changes and that great long sword!
What are you waiting for? Go meet him. Pay your respects. Remember his dedication to these arts is great. Don't be surprised when he says, ''Come, let us train.'' He really is a humble man. Humble men are wise. Good luck. Overcome the darkness. Return the light. Peace.
+ZULUPRIEST that's just because at first he's in the woods, then on a white platform, untill he reaches the beach, and then the forest, beach, forest and platform again :P
Yes,you are correct. Such a scholar is very rare, especially in today's world.Dr. Yang is treasure to be respected and emulated. We are very fortunate to have him. There are few with his knowledge, dedication, humility, wisdom, skill and compassion. He even has a good sense of humor. Overcome the darkness. Return the light. Peace.
"Respected for millennia as the king of short weapons." Shows Dr. Yang with giant two meter sword. lol Thank you YMAA. Laoshr #60 Ching Yi Kung Fu Association
Lol, Master Yang is very particular about sword length and says "The correct size for each individual is the length from ground to solar plexus area (without scabbard). That means it depends on the height of each individual."
Wonderful. I've been following Dr Yang's long style Tai Chi form for about 6 months now and my practice has improved immeasurably. Thank you Dr Yang. ✌🏼️
Yes! Thanks for noticing. We thought it would be a little more fun to watch if the setting keeps changing while the form is intact. Getting a little artsy over here!
Master Yang says: "The correct size for each individual is the length from ground to solar plexus area (without shield). That means it depends on the height of each individual."
nice one Master Yang! Your long sword occupies the space gracefully. A few understand this weapon and how to advantage its weight in all directions. I felt the calm attitude harness the natural elements that a tai chi man loves to play in. continue all your life.!
Im a 5th degree black belt and the tai chi sword is my all time favorite weapon 1- it's elegant 2- it's swift 3- it's graceful 4- it's beautiful 5- it will mess you up in a fight.
I used to practice Silat and Escrima. I am one of the few practitioners of Double Tai Chi Sword! I use sticks instead of blades. I used to have a Dragon Style that looks a lot like Wu/Hao style Tai Chi. We got it with all types of weapons yo.
this great man taught me kung fu from the age of 5-14. i still practice the blade techniques he taught me. sadly i lost touch after i stopped formal training. can you tell me how he is doing, YMAA? i hope all is well.
He is doing very well, living in Northern CA, teaching a select group of disciples everything he knows and more. www.ymaaretreatcenter.org/introduction
it makes me so happy to hear he is doing well. and after 19 years he probably wont remember me but please if you could tell him ryan hurley sends his regards and well wishes.
Sword length is determined by the size of the individual. The correct size for each individual is the length from ground to solar plexus area (without sheath).
Hello, I m looking for a video where the dr. yang jwing ming explain the yin yang theory. It used to be en this site, i can´t find it. If you know where thanks. Bruno
@@timothyfreeman97You are sadly mistaken. It's purpose is to cut through the knots in our own body. It's purpose is to deepen your own kung-fu. Not cut a man down. It is very practical in that it serves it's intended purpose. It is the scholars training tool. Designed for self cultivation. Not destruction. However, how much easier would it be after training with that sword? To sharpen a blade, and making it lighter, and easier to wield. How much more simple then to pierce and cut? Scholars use the sword to cut through their own ignorance. I see you need much more training young man. Peace.
@@stefanschleps8758 errr... No. Tai ji Quan and swords were created with the sole purpose of extinguishing life from another human being. The meditative and spiritual aspects of the art are side effects of this. Because of this thinking the martial prowess of tai ji Quan has been nearly lost replaced with a shell of its former glory. I'm not saying go out and hurt people but that tai ji Quan is first and foremost a martial art and to derive its real benifits it must be practiced as one.
That is a real sword. Not one of those flimsy cheap imitations intended to only be used in poor performance arts. Dr. Yang has done a great deal to remind us of the martial in martial arts. Without losing sight of either. How much does that sword weigh? Peace.
Hmm.. where's the tassel? That is the tradition! Your energy comes out of the tip of the sword and also the tips of the two tassels on the end. Which makes it a complete medicinal system. It's incomplete without them.

Do you have a lot of sword fights?
Would love to see tai chi sword getting stress tested against a resisting opponent. I suspect that the kendo and hema crowd would be unimpressed.

Where can you buy a sword liek what Dr Yang is using ?
Very cool
Good form. Sword could be bigger though.

can you teach the intermediate and the advance tai chi sword too?
How many different Yang sword forms are there, cause I can't find the form I was taught anywhere on the internet. It came from Taiwan in the late 50s
