Looks delicious! I love calzones and this looks very similar! Maybe it's the same thing but just called differently depending on where you are.

@NowBoardingVlogs Hey there, well, they can be in different shapes, but if it's a true calzone, it has to have ricotta cheese as one of the filling ingredients. In the photo of the church potluck, Croce made the stromboli in the log shape. In the video, he made it in a half-moon shape because our family likes a lot more crust. 😍 That's our understanding. 😊 Thank you for watching. We appreciate it. 💚

Great recipe! But I wouldn't call that a Stromboli, I would call it a Calzone because of the half-moon shape. I was born/raised in Pennsylvania and grew up eating Strombolis, but they were always logged-shaped. We always called the half-moon shaped ones Calzones. And Calzones typically use both ricotta cheese and mozarella, but Strombolis only use Mozarella. But the name really isn't the most important thing, the taste is, and what you made looked delicious. 🙂

Thank you for the kind words ~ we appreciate it. Yes, to be called a calzone, it must have ricotta cheese. We think the shape is less important. For example, in the photo of the church potluck, Croce had made three large strombolis in the log shape. For personal strombolis, we prefer the half-moon shape because it gives more crust all around - a favorite in our family. You are absolutey right ~ the taste is the most important thing! Yay!! 😍 Thank you for watching and for your awesome comment.
