      ***** Actually a Supra is better for the straight. Mainly because of its heavy body which reminds me of a gran turismo car but also for a couple of other reasons like its long stroke engine it's not ready suited for a track like the Nürburgring. The GTR is heavy as well but has the attesa- and hicas-systems to compensate for that. If you want a good japanese rwd car for the Nürburgring a NSX, S2000 or RX7 would be a better choice.

      ***** I don't think I would say GTR's are easy to work on at all, one of the most difficult cars to work on was my R34, everything took a lot of time to complete.
      A simple hard piping kit can take a full day to install no problem at all, head gasket changes on stock GTR's are a nightmare, turbo change outs on low mounted cars, don't even go there.......lol.
      When the car was running well, it was a dream to drive that's for sure.

      Simons World Haha try my '97 3000gt Vr4! It will surely make your time working on your GTR seems like a walk in the park. Just kidding man, haha I haven't worked on a RB26DETT engine yet so I can't say much. But I did see how much space it has under the hood of a R32 GTR :p

      I literally have and like the other comments, he REALLY isn't driving it to its potential, not that I'm moaning about it, it's his car and he can drive it in reverse for all I care but there was plenty room for speed... Sounded like there was 2 passengers in the car though so in all honesty probably did the right thing driving safe.

    I remember this R34, it has the engine rebuilt and cranks about 500 hp at 1.4 bar back in 2013. The set-up of this car is so agile, I can see the rear is trying to slip. Really love the ATTESA ET-S! It doesn't handle like standard AWD, it won't have that extreme under-steer at turnout, the front actually pulls and the rear will slip a bit to increase the effective of steering effort. Also, the engine sounds so flat, I mean not much turbo lag through the rev range. That Porsche is a good pray for the R34 on Nurburgring! By the way, the R34 Z-tune did it in 8:03 with Yellow flags, I think this can be close to the Z-tune.

    I wish I could just pick a random super car and go to the track whenever I felt like it. Lucky dude. If I had a gtr and a track right down the street thats what I would do every day. Some people are just so lucky.

    • @Tsjernobylol
      @Tsjernobylol 10 років тому +9

      Why you think this is pure a case of lucky? You can make your own luck mate.
      I bought a R33 Gtst when i was working as a bicycle mechanic, several years later im a Process engineer because i took some years of education, i tuned my R33 to 455 BHP. Im not from a rich family, I worked hard to buy my car and made it the way i liked.
      Just make your own luck. You can always move to a track if thats your big dream. Just sayin'....

    • @King250sx-R
      @King250sx-R 10 років тому +2

      True. I live in the states so having an r33 or r34 is unrealistic. I also don't have a lot of money, and the closest I come to a skyline is my s13 with r33 gtst rb25det s2 swap. It's not quite done to be honest. I'm still in the process currently. I see the r34 skyline and it just looks like a man's car and looks like you just mesh to its interior. It has the best body styling I've ever seen. I'm a nissan fanatic and the more I learn about them, the more my passion and love grows for them. One day I'll import an r34, and maybe get close to a track in america. I always wanted to go to the Nordschleif nurburgring. It's an amazing track from what I've seen in the gt racing series. Building a car seems to almost absorb you. It's almost the only thing I think of. I drive a lorry I think you refer to them as that. We call them semi's or tractor and trailers. Best job I've ever had. I get to drive. Ever since I was a kid I just wanted to drive. We'll now that's graduated to just being alone and driving an international race track for hours and hours. Pipe dreams really, when you have a kid and a wife. Sorry for the boring story but you get the point. Driving and car passion to make the story short.

    • @LowRiderGuy
      @LowRiderGuy 10 років тому +1

      Yeah, except for any corvette or mustang made since the mid-2000's.
      Why do you think auto journalists routinely call the Corvette the best bargain sports car in the world? Because it can compete/beat Porsche/Ferrari for 1/2 to 2/3 the cost.

    • @at9670
      @at9670 10 років тому +2

      Ryan Hickmann Mustangs are bad, plastic interior cheap car.
      It's like a bully.
      The Corvette by the other hand is probably like a retired boxer.
      PS, beating up doesn't mean drag race, a Circuit is the place where Skills and Car power and balance show off.

    • @LowRiderGuy
      @LowRiderGuy 10 років тому

      Let me guess:
      1) You haven't actually been inside a newer Mustang.
      2) You haven't actually driven a newer Mustang or Corvette.
      3) All your information is directly from other reviewers/commenters.
      Seems pretty stupid to me to compare a $70k base model Porsche to a Mustang that you can get fully loaded for HALF that price. Where do they cut costs? On the useless stuff like leather lined door handles and fancy carpeting. They've still got more than adequate handling, great power. and fun driving characteristics.

    • @at9670
      @at9670 10 років тому

      Ryan Hickmann Surely not the older version of Mustangs are good handlers.
      The only Mustang i like is the new one that is coming in 2015.
      Just guess why people buy Ferraris or Porches more than Nissan GTRs or Mustangs?

    My Favorite Nurburg Ring video to date ! IM a Big fan of your Clean R34 V-Spec and your skills piloting it are on point. 😎
    What happens or what system or system's kick in when you go above and beyond 6K rpm in the power band ?
    Every time you go WOT the engine pulls and makes the proper RB sounds but when you reach 6k to redline, its sounds like a whole different car. Is it a Nissan DOHC system similar to Honda Vtech that activates when high in rpms ?
    Just listen to a few pulls on the video where your on a straight or cutting some corners and listen to the Exhaust Note Right at 6000rpm and above til Red Line.
    It screams and you seem to have a boost in power when in those RPMs .
    Thanks for your time and if you could let me in on a little information about the 6K+rpm , I would appreciate it. Thanks again man.
    Also Do you like Ford Mustangs ?
    What Year's or Body Style and Engine Setups do you prefer?

    Not trying to be offensive here, but try Gran Turismo 5 without crashing in Nürburgring. If you are going to get the ps4, get Gran Turismo 6. I used to think that drifting made steering faster. I regret it now.
    Gran Turismo is a simulation that shows you how to shift and brake pretty well. This video is very good example of shifting gears, braking and steering. The man is driving in a correct manner. Please do not state that people suck at something without knowing what is happening.

    One thing is for sure... the higher revving RB26 powered R34 is much more fun to drive than a R35. Yes I have driven both.

    i agree to some extent, but it does provide a good indicator of how many g's he is pulling in any given corner.

    The problem is you're not down shifting when you come out of the turn.You could have had the Porsche within the first three turns he was in you're site. Good driving thou it's not as easy as it looks.

      +Brandt Karstens so where are your videos of you driving like this? I watched the whole video, his shifting is just fine, keeping the car at around 4500rpm coming into corners which us around where the Rb26 makes its peak torque and as somebody already commented you downshift before the corner not after.
