Do you have more photographic details of this boat? I'm just catching glimpses of the simplicity and would really like to study it a little better! Thanks for the video!
Nice boat , I was reading a book call " Building Outrigged Sailing Canoes" and it has a full section on this Wa'apa boat you built. It was great to see it in your video. I am thinking on building one myself. Congratulations for your boat.
There is a pivoting leeboard on the side of the boat. If you look closely at some locations in the video you can see the leeboard. It is about 4 feet long.
That boat is so cool...thanks for the video...very good job...

I have built 3 of them I liked them so much. Thanks for the comments.
Did you fiber glass all the hull or just until the water line. Is hard to get epoxy in Honduras, just the polyester resin.
Nice Work Earthling

northern wisconsin hello .. hi jon very nice canoe . love to see a vid of it being built ..........
Looks great.
How's the dome structure?
Nice Wa'apa! How does your foot pedal steering work? And how long does that polytarp sail last in the sun?
Looking good. What ply is it made out of?
1/4 ply, epoxy, & glass cloth
Bulkheads were 3/4 inch ply I think.
@@jonyap08 Glassed the whole outside or just below the waterline?
@@ConquerCollin Limited supplies on the tiny island, so outside glassed just up past waterline.

Hey john
Awesome boat! I’d love to know why you went for three hulls instead of two, better stability? Thanks
Patrick
Went with trimaran for stability. At that time, I was solo sailing a lot. Did not want any threat of tipping over. Worked well for me.
Thanks v much

How did the Bamboo masts hold up in the long run?
I NEVER had a bamboo mast or boom break on me. Not even in a sudden storm. they last for years.
How is it wity no leeboard can you still go windward
