So glad some smart people loked at this problem. It would have been nice to see how it actually works, and what it does with the weeds. Hopefully they've already got a patent.
This robotic can be adapted to pick strawberries and other vegetables that have to be picked by hand.. Because of the height and way the arm moves it do tomatoes etc.. anything that can be picked by hand.. With solar panels on top there would be enough power for the unit to work with only on a human to empty its basket when it is full. The name is RObotic R2WEED2PICKER. The small family farmers in EU would go nuts over this as the picker can work in all kinds of weather without damaging the crops using GPS markers and since they have electric Tractors that robotic it is prefect.
Too many moving parts. Think straight lines. Will save you on repair times. Back an forth like a irrigation water setup(potentially work with the water distribution people) unless your trying to develop better swivelling points for them tires
Folks with no farming or natural resource experience seldom understand maintenance and repair re. field equipment, I know ( from experience) you guys have the experience. It's just a prototype so lots of room for improvement.
Roberta Purves no one is currently picking weeds for a living at an industrial level. This could help prevent chemical resistent weeds and the overuse of chemicals in our food supply.
Well done folks. I have been praying for this for ages.
This is old news, Luke was working with farm droids back in 1977.

Well done. Fantastic idea for a robot.
Yep you just drive behind it with the sprayer tank lol
The Media: using artificial intelligence to identify which are good plants and which are weeds.

Clicked on this video thinking it was the other kind a of weed.. Neat robot though
Very cool stuff!
Swing by my yard so overgrown.

Where's the demo?
That's pretty cool

Go 4 R2-Weed 2. . . Good fun name.
In the years to come, such a "prowess" would be so banal that it won't deserve any attention... Just keep it for the record.
that is so cool.
Awesome!
Weeds* NOT WEED!!!!

True Tech not really paid enough to invest my time into the tech. I come from a welding/machining background where I fix all the broken inventions.
In other words. The mistakes will keep me in work.

True Tech I enjoy problem solving. Tired of getting paid scraps for what I do though. Especially with my physical pain.
IthinkthereforeIam OrsoIthought I almost died on farm almost 9 years ago now. After growing up on one as well
Why not just spray and not pick the weeds
Spraying chemicals on soil harm the soil organic value and nutrition.
Clickbait
AH yes, *weed* picking
The end is nigh. 😯
Lool what's the price tag 10 billion dollars or something yea good luck trying to sell it Jimmy

COOL

wont it be great when robots take all the jobs? no need for humans let them starve
Gorgeous with this new technique there will be no need of pesticides yeahhhhhhhh or make weeds resistance to pesticides yeahhhhhhhh again thanks
Pick weed with your hands! Problem solved!!!
thousands of acres of weeds by hand...god I hope that's sarcasm
wow lol. what a dumb suggestion.
Take people job away, how sickness, first illegal now this, and rent so high people living on street.
