Hey, Georgian here. I watched several videos about other's experiences in Georgia. I'm so happy that you find it a comfortable and safe place, but I have to apologize for discrimination. Law is for everyone, we're moving forward!
Thank you for this updates, this video makes me excited 😊 because I was about to gain admission at European University Georgia Tbilisi, currently I'm working on it, an I have an interview with them on Tuesday afternoon to test my level English. Then also zoom meeting with some professionals . The most worrisome situation is about the racism /discrimination you just mentioned in your video but that was Understandable now. i am georgian so i understood most of your opinions but i want to tell you about last con: discrimination-other tourist who are mostly white are either russian or armenian and the reason why they get along with georgian poeple is they have less language barier, most of georgian people from age 25 and up know russian so do russians and armenians and its very easy for them on other hand new generation are familiar with english language and you can communicate with almost every teenager. language barier may push people to reject you from taking apartments or in other situations and yeah there are some racist people butto be true by our history georgians never had slaves even white people so by history we aren`t racist even if somebody calls you n word that word doesnt represent the same thing that americans may represent because there has never been any case of black people beeing slaves
In the video, I said it twice that georgians are generally very friendly people, they do no harm and georgia is a very safe place, except for few people, like you also just said "there are some racist people".
Thanks for watching 😊
@@doctorayokunle yeah i understood it, i just explained that rejections u may get wont always be because of your skin colour sometimes language plays big part
@@snitchex5087 the fact that georgians don't have slave history doesn't permit the use of the "N" word, it's a racist regard anywhere in the world. I speak the Russian language, so whenever I help my friends find apartments, flat owners tell me they prefer Russians, georgians, generally Europeans, and isreali. So I can tell you it's because of skin colour. Fact!

New vision university are still working to get accredited by GMC. Still under "may" list.

Welcome. And thanks for watching 😊
you can be discriminated in any country. There is a racism in every country in some level although it is due to people's own behaviors. If you come to another country you should accustom their traditions and ethics not other way. Georgias are very friendly people never heard anyone been racist their
I mentioned many good stuffs about Georgia in the video, but I guess you're not comfortable with the fact that racism is mentioned even though it's an abject reality amongst few georgians... By the way, Racism is FELT, not to be "heard". You're not in a position to "feel or experience racism". Doesn't give you the right to dismiss or play it down. Thanks for watching 😊

It's not true that the universities doesn't require entrance exams. We have national entrance exams and it's not that easy to to enter. (Maybe foreigners are exception)
Information is for foreigners, not locals.
@@doctorayokunle I finished watching the video right now. Generally you are right. Your video is so informative, just I would "complain" about racism. I think skin color is not a problem for apartment owners but the problem is that in most of the cases students from Asia(especially India) and from African countries are more loud, less caring about the apartment and don't pay on a given date. (in most of cases problem is among youth, I am sure most of apartment owners don't have a problem to rent the apartment to older African and Asian people, because in general younger people in moat of cases from above mentioned countries are less responsible, than older people with same origin).
@@filiushermesio Many young africans and Asians are careless. This I totally agree. It's normal to say No respectfully to these students. But some georgians (older generations) make derogatory comments to foreigners. I've had this experience twice. You are not in a position to experience this, you don't know, so don't completely rule out racism. But generally, most georgians are polite.
Thanks for watching 😊
I want to study BDS (DENTAL) so is it in English medium or Georgian language?
English medium

The problem is not a skin color, the problem is that in the most of the cases African and Asian students are less responsible, they tend to pay late or leave apartment without paying or letting the owner know about it. Plus most of the students don't behave normally. They care less about the sanitation of the apartment and so on... That's the problem. However the video is informative. Thank you and good luck! ✌🏻
In as much as I agree with some of your points. You don't have an informed opinion about racism, you're white, you've never been on the receiving side of racism. There's no problem when a flat owner say no to any foriegner, it's his flat. But to make racist gesture or comment is far fetch. I personally and some of my friends have had these experiences here in georgia. So you cannot absolutely be sure that there's zero racism in georgia, it's disingenuous and naive to say so.
@@doctorayokunle ,I think "disingenuous" is the word you were looking for. BTW, you are a very bright young man; I predict great success for you!

I am Egyptian in Tbilisi , and I can say that racism is there but in my experience is very low rate .
majority are civilized and are not racist but kind and welcoming .
as for apartments , I wasn't at the receiving end to judge . but from what I know hence I live here for almost 20 years . many people don't like renting to Indians. and its not race issues as much as its cooking with too much spice issue :) . I read in many social networks a lot of complaints from owners about getting rid of smell of cooking after Indian tenants and they had to remove wall papers and repaint the apartment and smell that sticks to furniture . I know it sounds racists but actually that's what I read and heard .
others don't like renting to male students and prefer female students because boys living alone can damage the apartment and they are not that sanitary .
finally I just bought an apartment and in process of renovating it . and I am not going to rent it out to any Indian because of same reason . I have nothing against them at all . and it has nothing to do with racism . but its just investment decision . nothing more .
Isnt it racism if you don’t rent out to a particular demographic though
So you are basically racist cause you could just ask your Indian tenant to not cook spices
@@avichal6630
using your logic you are a racist .
you only ask Indians not to cook and allow other nationalities to cook.
do you see how easy it is to put dirt into others eye
its plain and simple economical decision
rents are low , expenses are high . and there is no insurance or collateral . doesn't worth it economically at all
its not Vienna .
I was living in Vienna , and if I had apartment there, any one is welcomed to rent it !
they get empty apartment with absolutely nothing but kitchen . and they pay 4 months in advance as insurance "kautionsversicherung " and 2 months for the agent and only after they leave and apartment inspection is carried out and damages compensated they get the remaining back if any.
those 4 month can easily cover new kitchen and paint job !
good luck doing this here .
Pls I want to know much about jobs

Please leave us alone
Stop 🛑 right there. 👎👎👎Unfortunately, the representatives of some countries have a very bad reputation. When ever You are alone then you are very polite, but it is enough to bring together a few of you already feel empowered and become violent. Regardless of your skin color, you owe it to yourself to act humanely. Do not beat children on football fields. Do not show your middle finger to old women when they call you to order and do not forget that Georgia is not Europe at all and you will instantly get an adequate response to all the omissions.
This is the tactics we know well about. Victim card is played in order to change the narrative. It's the card that blinds you to your flaws and it's the easiest way to create unilateral misery. You're not a foriegner, you're probably white, so you don't know what racism means, therefore STOP right there, your opinion is absolutely invalid
Why are you lying about discrimination in Georgia?
