Oh my, you are from Colorado? Where? I lived outside Ouray, Colorado, at the base of the beautiful San Juan Mountains, which include Mt. Sneffles. Please give you comparisons of the mountains around Tbilisi compared to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Hi Bill! I am indeed from Colorado. I grew up in Boulder County. I love the San Juan Mountains, although I've never been to Mt Sneffles. That whole area is gorgeous though. I love the Sand Dunes. It's really hard to compare the Rocky Mountains with mountains in Georgia. Both are stunning but have different feelings. Colorado feels more forest, with strong pine smells. It's a different smell in the mountains here. Unfortunately I haven't been yet up to Mestia or Racha in Georgia, which I heard are amazing. You should definitely check out Georgia though. Lots to offer in such a small country.
@@NickiPostsTravelStuff Hello, thank you very much for your impressions of the mountains of Georgia as contrasted to the Rocky Mountains in the USA. My main and driving reason for doing the research which I have already done (but IF and WHEN international flights from the Philippines to Georgia are again allowed, I'll have to verify if laws and rules in Georgia have changed before proceeding) is that a foreigner can legally operate a business in Georgia, something I am not able to do legally in the Philippines. The many advantages of opening a simple business in one of the Free Trade Zones in Georgia are fantastic: 0% import tariffs on equipment, stock items if the value-added finished product is sold outside Georgia, and ONLY 4% tax if anything imported is then sold within Georgia. Unfortunately none of us may live long enough to take advantage of those benefits. If the true 'owners of this planet get their way, their plan is to eliminate 93% of us 'useless eaters', a term uttered by Queen Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip.

Hey Mazzin! Thanks for watching my video. It's hard to say because it depends on your preference of town. Some people like big cities and others don't. What I can say is that it gets cheaper when you go into the country and there are lovely little towns. You can travel and see what suits you best.
@@GringoNation thank you so much for answering. Do you recommend any particular towns near Tbilisi? Also, is Georgia strict on covid lockdowns and covid passports?

Everything is expensive in Georgia and even the food because we don’t have enough income. @@davechapman2585 Bolt sometimes charges too much. Use Yandex Taxi it costs way cheaper if you use Economy Taxi from the selection but beware sometimes fares go up because of traffic and a lot of requests but typically its +3-4 GEL if prices go up
also stay away from bazaars and taxis that you meet on the road only use the apps for it because if they notice that you are tourist they will more than likely charge you extra because no one controls their prices

Thanks so much for watching and leaving your comment, Kborom! That 1 year visa is indeed extremely helpful. I was able to spend the pandemic there without any hassles!
Beautiful I’m coming soon
Awesome! When are you coming?
good to hear that people are planning to come here

Hey brosky! Obrigado por assistir! Realmente não é nada mau. Mas não tem vocês. :-/

I traveled to Georgia when I used to live in Abu Dhabi. I have thought about moving there one day due to amazing food, walking city Tbilisi, and cheap cost living. Georgia is such a hidden gem without all the Chinese and American tourists!
Thanks for watching and leaving your comment! Cool that you’ve been here before. Where do you live now? You’re right about it being a hidden gem. During covid it was completely tourist-less with so much to see. Hope you make it back one day! :-)
@@GringoNation I'm back in Texas :(. I would love to travel to that region again. I've stayed at the Rooms hotel in Kazbegi and was amazingggg.
AS a georgian I have nothing agin americans or any other visitors -we are open to everyone!!! And thats it!!!
I really like your video
Hey Lawanna! That's really nice of you. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. I hope it's been helpful to you! :-)
Oh my, you are from Colorado? Where? I lived outside Ouray, Colorado, at the base of the beautiful San Juan Mountains, which include Mt. Sneffles. Please give you comparisons of the mountains around Tbilisi compared to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
I'm from Brazil but my friend Nicki is from Colorado indeed! I'm gonna ask her to reply to your comment here! :-)
@@NickiPostsTravelStuff you must go to Racha ,shovi, Gona, most beautiful place in Georgia. Just bought a land in Rach for cottages

Hey man! Thanks for your helpful content. We are in Georgia but airbnb costs are upward 500 -800 for 1 bedroom. Did you use a different site for housing?
Thanks for checking out the video. Prices have gone up significantly since I left because of the war. I was using Airbnb too. That said, you can go on some of the Facebook groups and maybe some locals might have a good deal for you. Good luck! :-)
Great videos thank you. Post Covid I would love to do a snowboarding season in Georgia. Anyone have any ideas or pointers ? Thanks
Niall, thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment. I came to Georgia with the intention of snowboarding and the pandemic ruined it for me but I'm sure you can do a great season here in Georgia. The passes are super cheap and you get access to all the mountains. Do it for me! ;-)
Gudauri is the best resort in Georgia. Definitely worth visiting.

i’m moving to georgia for university in march i think. i’m really nervous because i don’t know the language and it will be hard to communicate for a while and i’m moving there alone cause only students can’t travel due to lockdown, i don’t know anyone there yet so probably take time to settle down
Hey Ruth! Thanks so much for watching and leaving your comment. Where are you from? Try to see your experience as something exciting and not nerve-wracking. Really informative video! To add to the visa discussion, if you have a little cash laying around (I think it's only around $115,000 USD) you can qualify for an investor visa and then avoid needing to go back and forth across the border.
Hey, Andrew! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment! That option seems a little far from my reality but I really appreciate you putting it up here for others to see. :-)
Also, your video is very innovative? Innovating? Because shows money reality!! I Think being very open like you have been make yourself a must see!!!!

Travelling is one thing while living for some months in one foreign place is another. The lamguage is not the most hindrance, buy you must like the people's mentality. That's not so easy.
I love this Hiroko! So very true! Thanks for watching the video. :-)
Thanks a lot for all your helpful information. I was considering buying a 100k euros property to get a resident visa but it seems i don't have to. I was considering retiring early and I guessing my pension will be around 7k usd which should be enough for a single person.
Hey, thanks so much for watching! :-) That's great. Georgia seems like a great place to retire and your money will surely go much further.
Which Georgian towns do you recommend living in on a strict budget
@@mazzin62 I liked visiting Sighnagi very much. Only a few hours from Tbilisi, I think. Mskheta is closer and also a nice time. I only lived in Tbilisi and Batumi though. I believe Georgia has been strict in the past but I don't know what's going on there now because I'm in Albania. Check out agenda.ge and stopcovid.ge/en
@@GringoNation thank you again for this information. I will check out these places and the link. Take care. Regards
With 30 000 dollars you can buy a a great house in Tbilisi, I recommend you should come in Georgia with 110 000 Dollars its 341 000 lari
Everything is expensive in Georgia and even the food because we don’t have enough income. Like you said 100 gel for couple of meals is still too much since the average wage is 350 usd in month and there are a lots of expenses to cover in monthly bases. It’s just not enough. I don’t see any good reason to move in here. :)
Do you just use Airbnb's, or do you have another suggestion for how to rent on a tourist visa?
I did airbnbs but there's also a website called myhome.ge and I've seen people find great spots through facebook groups of locals who rent to foreigners.
@@GringoNation Thanks for the info! I'll check out that site!
I been to Georgia 🇬🇪 for 6 months because of luckdown we can’t able to go back in our country airport is closed so we stay there for 6 months.

How do you keep the taxi from ripping you off?
Hey Dave! Thanks for stopping by! 0 scams with transport in Georgia. Just download the Bolt app and you're good to go (in the larger cities) If you ever need a private driver or something, you can usually just agree on a price before-hand
@@GringoNation I did download the app. But I haven't had much luck with it. Now with the buses running and metro I won't take a taxi. Unless absolutely necessary. Other than that I like the city very much.
Are you in Tbilisi? Bolt works great there. Glad you like the city!

If the opportunity came around I would move to Georgia. Could I get by with about $1400 a month out of my Pension ? I would want to save some of it. How is the medical there.? Should I cancel My Medicare heere in the USA.

Thanks for the info. How easy is it to get a job in Georgia?
Hi Olusola! Thanks so much for watching and leaving your comment! Most foreigners I know (me included) work online here. What did you do there, Joyanne?
You forgot to mention one of the biggest Pros for the country of Georgia: it is a very traditional society guided by Orthodox Christianity.
You'll find that in my cons video!
Yeah, you may want to respect the cultural and religious beliefs of their country. Not every man, woman, and child on planet Earth dreams of living in a "multicultural and rainbow" utopia. Ciao...
@@williams.carpenter2362 I did respect it. Doesn’t mean it made me comfortable so when I make a video about things I didn’t like about MY trip on MY channel, that was on there. Ciao
Its no longer a republic though.
FFS no mention of the people, is it all about living cheaply!!!
Hey, HG! Thanks for checking out the channel. All of my time in Georgia was during the pandemic. Although I interacted with them on MANY different occasions (as you'll see in some other videos), it was still less than I would've hoped for obvious reasons. But they are lovely people! :-) I'm in Turkey now. Hope you'll follow along!
Looks cold AF. That popping noise when you announce something is really freaking annoying.
Georgia definitely has its four seasons. It's even colder where I am now, in Borjomi. But the summer is very pleasant. Thanks for the feedback on the popping noise. I often experiment with sounds, so I'll try not to keep them excessive. ;-)
You forgot to mention that marijuana is legal in Georgia. i wanted to hear more about that.
Hey Scott! Thanks for watching. Even though it seems Marijuana is legal in terms of possession in Georgia, it's definitely not like California or anything. There are no dispensaries and getting a hold of it is still sort of tabu. I knew a Georgian guy who's neighbor planted it. He refused to sell it to me because he knew it could mean trouble. Instead he would gift some to me. It seemed pretty easy to get for a lot of my friends, just ask around. But don't go thinking it's like California.
@@GringoNation Thank you. So definitely invest in a lot of vertical farming equipment when I move there. For me I'm thinking ports for at least 50 plants since the way I grow it takes about 4 months.
