- In this video I'm going through the steps on how to replace the top mounts on your Vauxhall (Opel) Corsa 2011 (Corsa D edition). This is on our A12XER petrol, 1.2 Twinport, 86 HP engine but it should be the same on most models from around this year and the "D" revision.
I used standard socket and spanner sets and a spring compressor are the basics needed. - Авто та транспорт
Just had my 2018 Corsa MOT`d and I was advised the top mounting Strut had some play, but not enough to fail. Only 20K on the clock
Mechanic said it was a job I could do, if I could lay my hands on a Spring Compressor
No idea what was involved until I watched this video
Now confident to tackle top strut mount
Brilliant video
Great news Alan, yes not too bad a job. Take care on using the spring compressors though as noted in the video. Hope it goes well, let us know how you get on
Good video
8:45 ahh thanks I could not figure out how to do this part. Kept spinning
Would this mount affect the tracking of the car if it’s worn?
Good video, but why not use the Buzz gun to remove the top mount nuts. ???
One easy way to remove wiper arms without a puller is to close
The bonnet and lift the wiper arm up vertical, with two hands, rock the wiper arm back and forth and it will pop off- I’ve never needed a puller so far and been a mechanic for a few years now - will do a shirt to show you what I mean - will

Hi, recently had a garage fit all new struts and all new top mounts, when parked on level ground the offside has a bit of a gap between the top mount washer and the frame of the engine bay, is this normal? I've seen different advice on the matter, some say a gap is normal (even the garage said this), some say no. Doesn't look like there's any gap on yours. The washer is flush with the metal frame. Thanks
I can't see how that can be normal! It should be bolted into place, sandwiching the top rubber piece to the chassis and underneath onto the top mount. I'd be looking at tightening this up some more as you don't want it drifting or knocking
Put some wd40 on those top mount bolts a few days before starting the job.
