Are you from Africa brother (judging by your accent)? I am from Angola, pleased to hear fellow Naruto fans from Africa. Let me guess you are either from Nigeria or Southern Africa
Someone had once told me that Sasuke was once the most realistic person in naruto, watching this makes me realize after learning the truth about itachi he went through all the stages of grief with the worst support system imaginable.
An understated part of Naruto and Sasuke's journeys is their support systems and the influence of the adults around them. Naruto had Iruka and Jiraiya. Sasuke had Itachi and Orochimaru. I think there's a lot of truth to Naruto saying they could have switched places.
Video essays about the characters is what I enjoy more then the powerscaling videos of the characters. It's mature, it sheds light on certain topics that most people aren't ready to talk about. People prefer to just accept things at face value rather then dissecting the story they consumed or deal with the information they were given maturely. Thanks man, you're so much better then these braindead Naruto UA-camrs. It sucks that they have more subscribers then you do, more subscribers usually means more influence over people, brainwashing them of their horrible takes and opinions as facts for people to latch on too.
Sasuke's control of Amaterasu (blaze release/putting out the fire) is unique to him. He does this with his right eye and casts Amaterasu with his left. Itachi's can't do that as his other Mangekyou ability is Tsukuyomi. His Amaterasu against Jiraiya only went away because pervy sage sealed it. Just a small correction.
I know that but it' more about the fact that he even tried while resisting Jugo trying to carry him to safety. Also, I meant before Jiraiya sealed it away. The Amaterasu burnt a huge hole in a second, then stopped for a while.
watching this on his birthday! Sasuke will always remain one of my mot beloved Narto characters as his aspirations and goals were understandable and justifiable even if they were morally unjust.
3:15 The thing with Orochimaru holding Sasuke from doing what he was about to do is probably another scare tactic to convince Team 7 to leave him alone for the time being and that it could end when Sasuke wants it to end. To drive home the point of if Orochimaru has to hold him back, a fight with him is going to get them killed. The team had tried to fight the snake earlier and they were all on the losing end even when Naruto went four tails. It looks like he was about to use Kirin too, the same jutsu Itachi needed his Susanoo that has the Yata Mirror to block and survive and it still tore away his cloak. 3:46 I wouldn't say Kishimoto forgot Madara's existence. Just that to Sasuke, his clan was massacred when he was like 6 or somewhere around thay age. I doubt that his family, especially with how distant his dad was until he saw his potential or how often Itachi was away doing missions, would have told him about a very influential yet controversial figure in their clan, especially after the whole Nine Tails attack where an Uchiha was theorised to be the one who caused it and tension with a coup building up within the clan, to a 6 year old. That's something people explain to kids when they're much older. So he's just ignorant and hardly interested in knowing about some dead guy from a giant demon fox when he has other priorties on his mind. That is until Itachi tells him about Madara in their fight where he tries to 'take' Sasuke's eyes.
His redemption arc felt so out of nowhere. He isn't really given reason to change besides his frienship with Naruto. Had Sakura gotten better writing, she could've been the reason he changed as well (ie her genjutsu skills making her a competant rival to him, as well as giving her more substantial feelings for him).
sasukes entire narrative arc more or less is redemption he just waivers on the point or line of good rather and switches back and forth. which kinda makes sense when you look at it as a whole and not segmented parts imo
"Reason to change"- the first question is change from what? , assuming the answer is change from him seeing the world in a warped version - which was motivated by Indras curse and the mistakes done by the elders in guiding the next generations. - Naruto was the reason Sasuke changed and the reason is not because they JUST were friends ,because right than when they were together Naruto ensured Sasuke that he can change the world of NINJA using ways that do not include further death or wars, remember Sasuke resorted to that because he saw that people will always mess things up especially those in power - nothing was blinding him to a point where his change would need to include a realisation he wasn't aware of - Sasuke has been a character led by darkness like the average Uchiha just it was worse to him since he was a reincarnation - his redemption arc started after Itachi died - all the until the final arc he was finding different perspective of things he didn't pay attention to which is why he octad to go see the all knowing. - If you look at Sasukes storyline using the common understanding of that a revenge storyline should be (Kill , regret , find a reason to change) only format , you will misunderstand it because it is very much more than that, which is why it is a masterpiece.
@@AtenSol12 I guess it's difficult for me to see that during his Orochimaru years and forming Hebe. He's said before that nothing mattered aside from his revenge.
around 5:35 ish, you say something like "for lack of a better word his gentleness" and i think the word you are looking for in in context is mindfulness. thoughtful seems to imply a degree of genuine care. which could be true as well but the was the reader/viewer is probably looking at sasuke mindful is more apt. only because it agrees with the idea he has a lot of things ... on his mind, but not that hes necessarily caring about them in a good way. just that he thinks about a lot of the extra stuff
24:40 You are attacking a position that doesn't exist. Of course that conflict wouldn't cease completely and he knows it, otherwise he wouldn't need to do a thing after initial revolution. However it'd still be drastically reduced, similarly to Kira's world after Light using his notebook for 6 years the crime rate fell by 70% and wars vanished. Humanity can have a merciless god over it's head but it won't stop the most daring ones from trying. He was right about everything regarding his revolution except thinking he can bear loneliness and that he can deal with any threat himself (because aliens too strong). 29:10 Yes, it's mentioned during Sasuke Shinden that Naruto made the knowledge about truth behind Uchiha massacre public, though Sasuke didn't want him to.
tbf nobody in konoha (except some shinobi like kakashi and naruto) knew the truth that their village heads (meaning Danzo) ordered the Itachi to massacre the uchiha clan. So, Konoha wouldn’t have had even the chance able to see from Sasuke’s standpoint of vengeance against the village.
IMO, his whole character arc only fell off after the Kaguya fight, and for three reasons 1. He fell victim to Naruto syndrome, AKA, Naruto beat him in a fight so that means Naruto is right and You're wrong. Sasuke was completely right that shinobi peace was tenuous and extremely temporary without enemies to fight, the system would collapse, but Naruto punched him really hard and had a speech about bonds and swing sets, so Sasuke backs down 2. what happened to Taka. Taka was a better team 7 in every way. Their Kakashi was empathetic, their Naruto was better able to back up his words, and while their Sakura was still Sakura-ish, she still did other stuff. But then he just abandons them to the guy that abducted and experimented on them. 3. What he does at the end. He hates the village, Danzo, and the idea of Naruto becoming hokage, so he winds up supporting the village by becoming Naruto's Danzo? something about that doesn't add up. If I were writing the ending of Naruto, Sasuke would gather up Taka and the Gedo Statue, and just leave. hop into a dimension hole and take the nuclear deterrents with him. "If you babies can't play nice in the sandbox, I'm taking your toys away. If you want them back, prove to me that you actually can make peace and keep it."
So I will actually teach you about the basics of Naruto. 1.Naruto and Jiraiya wanted peace "BETWEEN THE NINJA NATIONS"- not everyone to live a perfect life. Bringing it to reality it's anting the countries to work together without looking to exploit each other but help one another ,living in harmony. That is the first part you don't understand. 2.Naruto proved to Sasuke that he still can save the ninja world using right methods besides what Sasuke wanted to do which is to kill everyone who had part of the ninja system being how it is ,and killing the tailed beasts although they did nothing wrong but fighting back as they were exploited , all in all pick the manga and read their conversation before and after their final fight. The problem with you, is you watch Naruto with a shallow eye, making you miss on important aspects. 3.Bro I don't understand that point 2, I don't even think it makes sense. 4.I would like to assume you read Naruto manga where some pages were lost , Sasuke didn't hate the village ,if your manga page where Sasuke went to the villageto find answers from the all knowing wasn't ripped out ,you would know but i don't blame you,i blame the manga you bought with lost pages. 5. He becomes the right version of what Danzo was, he didn;t hate the position but the person, he became what is father was. What atrociousness is that last paragraph lol.
It's a good video but you're skirting the issue of Naruto's own hypocrisy. Naruto also doesn't understand Sasuke or any other villain he tnj's, instead reducing all their arguments to mere platitudes like "u just like me for real, loneliness bad" instead of actually addressing their criticism of the system he defends. And that's the biggest problem, Naruto never comes in conflict with Konoha or the village system, he defends them the whole time. So how am i supposed to take his role as the messiah revolutionary seriously? All of his promises ring hollow. Sasuke's biggest problem is that he's doomed to lose to Naruto's vapid platitudes and be turned into Konoha's slave like Itachi wanted him to be. Boruto is merely a faithful continuation of that.
The hell do you mean doesn't understand the villains? Literally every villain he does TNJ is preeceded by him learning about them. For Neji, he literally laid out his whole life story to Naruto, Gaara was the closest person to Naruto at that point in time, they essentially had near identical lives, the Sasuke fight at the end of og Naruto is Sasuke's victory exactly because Naruto didn't understand him, Pain laid out a lot of his own life story, and Naruto was able to figure out the rest from Tales of a Gutsy Ninja, the entire fight against Obito was Naruto trying to figure out his story with the help of Kakashi, he doesn't learn about Madara, but he also never TNJs Madara, and the final fight at the valley of the end was literally the culmination of the whole series and everything Naruto has learned about Sasuke.
