How awesome, man. I really loved that I could see the walleye from your head cam. The sightfishing aspect of it was incredible, especially on that big one. I liked the slow mo and the tunes you used in this one as well. Nice touch. Do you have to have a machine to get to where you guys were at? I'd love to get out there with you next year if you don't. Looked like a blast but I would need a guide like you for my first time out there, I'd have no idea where to start. Great video.
Thanks for watching! Honestly…no. You do not need a machine. If your willing to walk a mile you can get to the grounds. Multiple people actually walked out past us another 1/2 mile and I’m sure we’re slaying them. We will definitely get out there next year man. The perch are hogs and the walleye fishing is usually solid during last ice situations up shallow. I changed up my style a little bit with this video and I guess my regular viewers will probably notice but I think it turned out really good also.
Great video and some really nice walleye, frost bite tackle is good stuff cant wait to use the stuff I bought. Headed up to Gladwin tomorrow morning and really hope we have some good ice, if not I will be having a hoot drinking some Busch light with a long time friend I use to fish with on the spillway and Clinton river as kids. I will try and tune in for your spearing live podcast on the 19th at 7:00. What a crappy winter Geez!
Thanks for watching Robert! It sounds like you have an awesome weekend ahead of you! Old buddies, ice fishing and Busch lattes!! Good luck and be safe!
Thanks for watching Brett! I appreciate it man! I’m definitely sold on the tantrums and dinnerbells. I was using the large size dinner bell also. It was money!
I went to saginaw bay once (have ice fished the river lots) I’m from Gaylord. And we walked 2.5 miles out pulling all our gear on foot. We stopped and started fishing and starting picking off a few and I decided to take a walk and went 100 yards from our main group (we had 2 fish for 6 guys) and I popped my full limit in 14 minutes and walked back to the shack told them and everyone went over there to 3 holes and got there limits within like an hour. It was magical and the fish were all nice 18-20 inchers it was a really fun time and I love that you catch them jigging down there at home it’s a mix of jigging and a tip up bite.
I’ve had similar experiences out there as well! I’ll never forget the one time I punched a hole and put my fish finder down and I thought it was broke because the screen looked to be all red like I was in shallow water so I looked down the hole and it was walleye from top to bottom in the water column. A huge school of them making their way to the river. Thanks for watching!
It was a fun trip! The ice ride wouldn’t have been a fun trip!! Wish I had more time to fish and less time to have to be at work! We would’ve had a pile!
I never caught a Walleye in the winter time. I ain’t going to walk that far out. I got a pass for Lindys marina and I saw some monster perch and crappies
Ice fishing for walleye is a riot. Better fishing when they’re up shallow too because all they’re doing is feeding so they almost always bite. This was only a mile off Vanderbilt park.
Awesome walleye out there for you guys! Some of those were real fat and healthy. The perch was nice too! The one around the 10:00 mark was sweet to watch him eat it like that. Came back for seconds hahaha. Great video Luke 👊
Thanks a lot for watching buddy! I wish we had more time out there but this was just a quick trip before work. I bet had we had another few hours to fish we would’ve wrecked them good! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Heading up to Gaylord area next weekend still good ice and need 1 more trip. Rivers will be stacked up with perch and walleye soon. I guess I'll unthaw the fall walleye freezer bags and eat those for now.
this ain't MN.....Michigan boys catch and keep!!! 😁......release into the grease!!!....MN boys on the ice 2 months....SE MI boys on the ice 2 days!!! 😬🤣
Love it Jim! We had a very strange Winter and I tried to take every advantage that I could locally! I’m still curious if there is going to be a 3rd ice season??😂
@@TheOutdoorConquest pretty sure she is opened up now....no single digits coming.....wind and waves do the deal....re calibrate....Selfridge turn out some open water piggies 😉 just like 2020!

Nice! There was quite a few that walked out. It was only about a mile or so. Not too bad!
That’s sweet to see them hit like that through the ice! 😍🔥 Never caught a walleye on the hard water… need to try that out!

Thanks for watching bro! They definitely were on the feed bag up in that shallow water! Wish I had a full day to spend out there!
You should do shed hunting vids
Your going to have to scroll back a couple years in my videos but there is one in here for sure
You think I could catch anything around the bridge on river road?
Possibly. I’m not sure of the latest reports but it never hurts to prospect some spots anyways. Thanks for watching!
East side or West side?
East. Vanderbilt

When you need tires from all the driving you do come see me at marlette oil and gas lol. So I can keep you on the road and making videos
There you go! There is still fishable ice by me but it’s sketchy along the shore. Be safe and good luck buddy!
