I realize this is an older post but; the reason you heat the nib is it is packed from the factory with an oil or light wax to keep it from rusting/tarnishing. You only have to heat it once. After that the ink will stick. Also; just because the manufacturer says use "their" type of ink; doesn't mean you have to. There is a world of inks that work just fine on almost any nib. Great video on the Deleter series pens Chris.

I didn't like him at first, but after he rescued his kitten Eikichi, Kuwabara is basically the only reason I keep watching! I love a man who is kind to cats!

I know I'm real late and you prob already know this but imma say it any way. Another way to help get the oil of the nibs(the oil is only on new nibs. Oil prevents ink flow) you can stick the nib(carefully) in a potato or you can use some elbow grease and scrub it with toothpaste. But people use the potato method since its easier.

Was looking for how to use my Deleter dip pens, and conveniently this was one of the first ones I found. Good stuff.

i know this is 6 months ago but do you know how you got your ink to work on the page?! mine wont work and ve already tried burning it :((

@@TheRealTormentor im not sure what you mean but probably just try to get bristol paper. i don't use my deleter pens on anything but that. you could also try to get mixed media (haven't tried it though) or manuscript paper (but that depends on where you live because it isn't available everywhere). theyre more expensive than regular printer paper but it wont work well anything else. it accounts for the smoothness that these pens need to draw the lines you want and its absorbent enough that smudging is less of an issue and feathering wont happen at all.

I have a saji nib. I cant tell who it's made by but it flexes so easily and so much that it just over inks, soaks through the page and needs to be dipped in like 4 lines.

The thing I love the most about pen nibs is how you can apply more or less pressure to manipulate the line thickness. This is something I see a lot in the manga Dragon Ball Z my is the one thing that I think would really boost my art

🔹This is dope! I searched because I boughy mine about a month ago, and am adjusting from fineliners.
🔹 Love Kuwa-chan, but my fav would have to be... Yusuke. I love his development, his edginess and fightet spirit, and the final fight against Shinobu Sensui (...iykyk...).
🔹 The anime the AE86 is from is called Initial D! Underrated 90's anime, just like Kuwabara.

Thanks for the review Chris - was exactly what I needed! Also, it’s worth mentioning, as I believe in sharing feedback to others when warranted: you could be a hand model. Your hands are a perfect specimen of the male human hand. I don’t say that in any way other than how it sounded. (I don’t have a hand fetish, and I’m not a weirdo creeper). I believe in positive (and constructive negative) feedback and thought you should know. But surely you’ve been told that before. :))

i know im late, but the words “free penholder” means freehand im pretty sure
edit: also, another way to remove oils from nibs is to gently push a nib into a potato for less than 15 minutes. Take it out, then dry/wipe it.
