Absolutely proved worthy to hear Tiny tell her story and see her with her equipment. What a great thing to hear her voice and her testimony to the early days of Parachuting!

What is very ironic is, not more than 50 feet from where she stood in this interview (at my grandmama's house) is where she fell down the steep concrete steps, and later died from the injuries. There was no landing at the top, and the screen door opened out.
She would come home from California and stay at the homes of every grandchild she had for two weeks each. There were 6 in all.
I would take her to school with me and show her off to my teachers a friends.

      So is Verla your grandmother?

@@weslivingston230 It sounds to me like great-great grandmother. Tiny Brodwick, then Tiny Jacobs, married at 12 years old and had her daughter, Verla, at 13 years.

Sounds like you are very proud and you should be. Quite a brave woman. That is a shame about her fall. I'm concrete contractor and having a landing when you walk out a door is a strict building code.

This brave lady is mentioned on my Old Town Trolley Tours in San Diego. We have a trolley named after her. She is a legend and brave woman to pave the way for the safety of pilots and parachutes. Thanks for the video. DanteP

An admirable lady. Brave, fun-loving and for her time, or any time, a fascinating person. Wish I could have known her.
