This is great. I remember back in the day when McFarlane produced many, many series of Halo figures and after Reach, it reaaaally slowed down. Glad to see another company pick it up and hopefully we'll get many many more armor permutations, vehicles, etc. This is good news and I had no idea. Not bad quality to boot. Paint is one thing, that can be done by the consumer if they so wish, but a good sculpt, durable material, and good range of motion is the biggest key to a good figure, because those things are so much more difficult for the consumer to add to a figure than paint. I'm really happy about this.
I'm looking forward to the new articulation, McFarlane really started lacking with that especially in the legs. I think seeing the spartans articulation will really be the decider. :)
So there we have it, Mattel's first 6 inch halo figure. Seems a little better than I expected but still discouraged by the paint job. Been collecting since the first McFarlane wave way back when with halo 3 and it has really been a MAJOR part of my childhood. I've also been watching you since the very beginning. I remember back in the day always being excited for ur reviews to see if the figures would be good enough for me to buy and to get a sneak peak at. Also to look at the ones I wasn't able to get lol. When u announced that u were gonna stop reviewing I was honestly a very sad considering u were my go to reviewer for halo figures. Really glad ur back in the game. I actually saw that other people uploaded reviews of this fig first but I didn't get the chance to view it yet, saw that u uploaded urs and immediately clicked it lol. This figure seems good enough for me and I most likely will pick it up. Hopefully Mattel treats the halo line good and here's to years to come of more halo figures!
I'm really happy to see these because when McFarlane stopped making Halo Figures I was really worried about the rest of Blue Team and Fire Teem Osiris , and I really want a Halo 5 Arbiter Figure SO THIS IS A WHOLE NEW CHANCE TO GET THOSE..... especially the Arbiter one
McFarlane had a good run but with the adult collectors market getting higher and higher with most lines being 6" and coming with tons of accessories and articulation, I guess it was time Mattel took over. I would like Hasbro to since I collect Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series. But these are definitively nice, especially from Mattel.
Hmm, these figures are pretty exciting and I'm interested to see what they release in the future even if they are plain plastic toys. I'm only going to pick up a couple figures from Mattel here and there as I still need to complete my McFarlane collection before I consider going all out on Mattel. I will order this particular figure very soon though.
+KoBaC thanks for responding . I watched your old videos when you would try to open boxes with random things that your fans suggested😅...I was an OG and I love this channel.Thank you.i just wanted to say I was watching this channel for a longggggg time now :)
Glad to see your back doing these again rich, hope everything's going well buddie glad to see you are branching out on different figures as well (I personally collect Nendoroids and Figmas now) still have the Hellspartan from when you sold everything off anyway good to see you again buddie - A watcher Scott
So true lol pretty disappointed how reach had so many options that where a bit overkill. Then halo 4 dumbed it down perfectly and now with halo 5 it's practically nothing lol
transgeek2345 More like it made them appeal to little kids. Only zealots and royal guards were meant to have that much shot in the armor, not a fucking major.
Look at it this way, if you like the joyride halo ce and halo2 figures, than imagine mattels figures matching the joyride figures. Idk, thats how I see it
Yeah me too, personally I love the joyride figures a lot more than the Mc farlane because of the simple paint jobs and that's why I kinda like these ones.
idk If i said this yet, but you got me into buying figures. I stopped buying them for a while because of the price, but I plan on buying some now that you reignited my interests. :D
you know, the paint jobs aren't particularly breath taking, but if youve played halo 5, the elites aren't decked out in colors like in previous games, so if you look at it like that, the paint jobs aren't too bad
Another pro for me I would say is availability, because for the past few years I've been unable to get these figures, I don't know why but stores around here stop carrying them, no target, gamestop, walmart, nothing except one thing, halo mega blocks, so with that being said, I think I might actually be able to get these assuming I have money for them and that they'll be decently priced.
I would agree with you. Hopefully since Mattel is such a big toy maker that they won't put up with Target and the like slowly fazing out their figures. I imagine they will want them to get a pretty good spot on an aisle with plenty in stock. Hopefully...
Yeah I know. If it wasn't for MagesticGaming I wouldn't have either. He posted a video and I ordered right away from Amazon. Apparently this is the only 6" out at the moment. Hopefully the rest aren't too far off.
if they made 1/6 scale (12 inch figures) with good paint I would love that. also does this mean no more halo triforce replicas? (they make High quality but expensive replicas) since Mattel had a master license
You should check out the halo mega bloks figures. They are two inches and have the same amount of armor that can be removed as these figures as well as the same amount of articulation and almost better detail than these figures, the molds aren't as intricate, but they are very crisp. Overall, I feel that the mega bloks figures are better for display than these figures, which is surprising since mega bloks are meant for children if you look past the collectors series label.
McFarlane should've made a Promethean Soldier figure before they stopped because the whole deal with the prometheans is that they're supposed to be highly detailed and these guys don't do highly detailed
Still pissed that we'll never get the rest of Blue Team in the Mcfarlane scale. It's so goddamn annoying when this kinda thing happens and you're team/lineup will never be complete. I mean, I don't know what's worse, that Mcfarlane lost it, or that it went to those cheap ass hacks over at Mattel.
It seems like the detail is there in the actual sculpt, but the paint job is more unfinished when compared to McFarlane. Still nice figures though. Looks really cool when displayed on the Ghost in person.
for all those mattel haters, stop hating. if u don't like the paint jobs its cause they are not directed to u. if u like better sculpt and paint jobs go find a different company for that. nobody is telling you to buy this. if u don't like these new toys go away you don't have to buy or watch this toy review. goodbye haters
I hate the removable armor. It just falls off and gets lost. None of my Halo reach figures have their shoulder armor from playing with them with my son. Especially hate it if the removable armor contributed to the $20 price point.
YA I'm going to miss the McFarland halo action figures so much and plues I bet that also they could have made the Mattel ones better if McFarland made them
Microsoft has a contract with Mega Brands for the Halo Mega Bloks line. Mega Brands is also a property of Mattel. So for Microsoft, it seemed more convenient to just leave the Halo Action Figure contract with the same company who owns the buildable halo stuff too. Mattel can also produce these at a lower cost than McFarlane (as we see in the video) and the lower production cost means more can be manufactured at a time. Unlike McFarlane whose production time took longer and costed more, meaning less toys on shelves at a time. More toys on shelves means (hopefully) more sales, more sales means that the line is successful and that Mattel can take a bigger risk and place more money into producing these. Less production costs, more toys in stores, more profit, and eventually better figures.
Richh u really gotta brighten up your set man I like your videos a lot man but I actually got the urge to stop watching the video while you were reviewing the elite. It's way too dark and the detail on the figure is very hard to notice
I really am trying to figure out this blasted lighting issue. See the thumbnail, it's the same lighting as with my video camera but taken with my stop motion camera. Same lighting but appears drastically different...dangit.
the thumbnail looks ideal so its probably to do with your camera. Try messing around with the settings and I would also recommend you trying natural lighting if the problem still occurs. Either way best of luck richh I'll be watching for future videos!
Went back and watched all your old Halo figure reviews after seeing these new ones. Ahhh memories.
I've been watching for about 6 or 7 years, I loved your videos back in the day, good to see you're still uploading :)
This is great. I remember back in the day when McFarlane produced many, many series of Halo figures and after Reach, it reaaaally slowed down. This is great, I'm glad Mattel took over because that means more figures, and more figures means more reviews from Richh, just like old times.
Richh I really like the way you have gotten back into your old style of making videos im really enjoying it tbh
The articulation seems awesome! but cheap plastic is bleh, lol, but i guess for people who custom paint figures, we could make them look pretty good
I'm looking forward to the new articulation, McFarlane really started lacking with that especially in the legs. I think seeing the spartans articulation will really be the decider. :)
Good job,Kobac! Man this elite surprised me,I had my doubts on Mattel, but they're gone! Really hope they make Thel.

may be a good time to come back
Damn i'm gonna miss the McFarlane figures
same
EvanProductions2000 me too
I'm really happy to see these because when McFarlane stopped making Halo Figures I was really worried about the rest of Blue Team and Fire Teem Osiris , and I really want a Halo 5 Arbiter Figure SO THIS IS A WHOLE NEW CHANCE TO GET THOSE..... especially the Arbiter one

Any body else remember Kobaacatt ? ( something like that) ;(
wait what? that's me...
+KoBaC thanks for responding . I watched your old videos when you would try to open boxes with random things that your fans suggested😅...I was an OG and I love this channel.Thank you.i just wanted to say I was watching this channel for a longggggg time now :)
(My favorite stop motion was the squiggles the grunt , ya , I'm old)
+Mr. Rich B.O.B I also liked the ice cream man ! ". Nooooo my ice cream coneeee😂"
Cody donnelly
Can't wait to see the way Mattel designs the Arbiter (assuming they make one)
I would definitely love to see this sucker in a stop motion!!
Glad to see your back doing these again rich, hope everything's going well buddie glad to see you are branching out on different figures as well (I personally collect Nendoroids and Figmas now) still have the Hellspartan from when you sold everything off anyway good to see you again buddie - A watcher Scott
Thanks for the review I ended up buying the officer and minor elite amazing
Hopefully Mattel makes more vehicles I would really love if they made a falcon how cool would that be
that moment when you realize that the figures will have better customization than the players in the game...
Lol
So true lol pretty disappointed how reach had so many options that where a bit overkill. Then halo 4 dumbed it down perfectly and now with halo 5 it's practically nothing lol
Halo 4 armors look pretty good. Halo reach ones were really overdone and had so much shit in them they didn´t even look like sophisticated armor.
Halo Reach did them right. Period.
transgeek2345 More like it made them appeal to little kids. Only zealots and royal guards were meant to have that much shot in the armor, not a fucking major.
Look at it this way, if you like the joyride halo ce and halo2 figures, than imagine mattels figures matching the joyride figures. Idk, thats how I see it
Not a bad view point.
Yeah me too, personally I love the joyride figures a lot more than the Mc farlane because of the simple paint jobs and that's why I kinda like these ones.
I miss your action fig reviews
I wish the elites were a little less bulky and a little taller....
awesome review Richh!! we love ya ! keep it up man!
Just like the good old videos
no more McFarlane.. rest in peace sweet prince.. the legend will remain in my heart. high detailed figures replaced by cheap plastic children's toys
idk If i said this yet, but you got me into buying figures. I stopped buying them for a while because of the price, but I plan on buying some now that you reignited my interests. :D
I haven't bought halo figures since the reach line ended. I NEED this now
Get it for $30 (before shipping) from Amazon.
+SONIC RANGER They said these were coming out in Fall and they'll probably be at any major retailer, like other Mattel products.
You can actually move is head 360 if you hold his neck in place and twist his head by holding his face and turning it
And a SPOON!!!
Can we expect any animations with this series?
Most likely
btw the reason the they have not great paintjobs is because unlike mcfarlane, they are actually toys more primarely then a model.
you know, the paint jobs aren't particularly breath taking, but if youve played halo 5, the elites aren't decked out in colors like in previous games, so if you look at it like that, the paint jobs aren't too bad
By the rings... I haven't seen you upload in so long...
I loved this channel.
i think mattle will imporve the paint job as their main audience is adults buying the figures ... i just wish i could buy this in the UK ....
how did Mcfarlane lose the liscense?
Great video keep up the great work 😄
Should I get this or halo 4 elite ranger
THE TOOL OF DESTRUCTION
That one peg hole for the front armor pieces is kind of in a weird location
My only problem with them was they don't have a wash or any dry brushing. I'd do it myself but I shouldn't have to.
I ❤️ them
Mattel has halo figures now? i would have like a side to side comparison with the mcfarlane figures
There is one in the review
at least tey didnt bring painted up ones to fairs to trick people. they just showed what they would do.
good review!
i didnt even know these were out
Yeah I know. If it wasn't for MagesticGaming I wouldn't have either. He posted a video and I ordered right away from Amazon. Apparently this is the only 6" out at the moment. Hopefully the rest aren't too far off.
+KoBaC yeah man but great review im happy too see you back 😊 ive been round since your halo 3 figure reviews
Wooo boy that's a long time ago. Thank you for your very lengthy support :D
+KoBaC 😊 have you played any halo 5 ? if so what do you think
if they made 1/6 scale (12 inch figures) with good paint I would love that. also does this mean no more halo triforce replicas? (they make High quality but expensive replicas) since Mattel had a master license
I don't know how those other side license agreements go. I have only heard that whatever rights McFarlane owned is now with Mattel.
I would recommend the halo heroes series or the blind bag figures, since they are very inexpensive and look very nice.
Isaac C mega blocks are completely dick
McFarlane should've made a Promethean Soldier figure before they stopped because the whole deal with the prometheans is that they're supposed to be highly detailed and these guys don't do highly detailed
Atleast we have the watcher and the knight from the Halo 4 line of McFarlane figures
Can you put a McFarlane Zealot on that ghost as well?
hey KobaC is that elite a good figure
McFarlane is Bungie and Mattel is 343
Must have it
Still pissed that we'll never get the rest of Blue Team in the Mcfarlane scale. It's so goddamn annoying when this kinda thing happens and you're team/lineup will never be complete. I mean, I don't know what's worse, that Mcfarlane lost it, or that it went to those cheap ass hacks over at Mattel.
the 8+ is for legal reasons, not its target audience. it just about parts.
Can you take the ghost off of the stand?
so where can I buy this?
nice
Can anyone tell me where I could find these at a local Toys R Us? Like in the aisles??
Where did you buy this? I can't find it anywhere?!
A toys r us near me had 2 of them.
can you email me about potentially buying some of your figures or maybe telling me where you get the boxes of them?
my email btw is waydery@gmail.com
Has Mcfarlene stopped making the halo series now ?
Yes. Mattel has the license now.
Ah rip :/ - I see they're lacing detail tbh
It seems like the detail is there in the actual sculpt, but the paint job is more unfinished when compared to McFarlane. Still nice figures though. Looks really cool when displayed on the Ghost in person.
Ah right, understandable.
I have this
The scales aren't the same either. McFarlane was 5" and Mattel is 6".
I know this may not be relevant but there is a halo table top game like warhammer 40,000 coming out this year.
Is Spartan Games making it? And I could not find any updated content.
That's pretty cool, hopefully cheaper though
There's an £65/$80 starter set up for pre-order atm as well as a 14 inch pelican and Phantom.
Wonder if they will be sold in the U.S.? I have wanted to get into a new game for a while now and this could be the one :D
the elite "officer" is a commander you dum dum
for all those mattel haters, stop hating. if u don't like the paint jobs its cause they are not directed to u. if u like better sculpt and paint jobs go find a different company for that. nobody is telling you to buy this. if u don't like these new toys go away you don't have to buy or watch this toy review. goodbye haters
l am going to get it
kobac Catt where are you where have you been
It looks cool but basic ad God bless you!!!!
T H A N K YOU.
I hate the removable armor. It just falls off and gets lost. None of my Halo reach figures have their shoulder armor from playing with them with my son. Especially hate it if the removable armor contributed to the $20 price point.
where did you get this
Amazon
+KoBaC ok thanks:)
how much does this cost?
$30 on Amazon
YA I'm going to miss the McFarland halo action figures so much and plues I bet that also they could have made the Mattel ones better if McFarland made them
Need better lighting pleeeeaaase
Megabloks halo is the thiing
Why did McFarlane lose the rights to Halo?
contract probably ran out, don't quote me on that
Microsoft has a contract with Mega Brands for the Halo Mega Bloks line. Mega Brands is also a property of Mattel. So for Microsoft, it seemed more convenient to just leave the Halo Action Figure contract with the same company who owns the buildable halo stuff too. Less production costs, more toys in stores, more profit, and eventually better figures.
The figure doesn't have that good of a because it is bundled with the ghost
Dr who anyone
Sad they didn't do better paint jobs.
Just imagine what the Promethean Soldiers are gonna look like
ewww they are gonna be all glossy and cheap looking.
should've compared it to the other elites... but nope you chose a spoon...
Would have if I owned one...
Richh u really gotta brighten up your set man I like your videos a lot man but I actually got the urge to stop watching the video while you were reviewing the elite. It's way too dark and the detail on the figure is very hard to notice

oguau
rip halo figures, I mean it looks so terrible, I'm not gonna put that on my shelf.
It has a hole on its crotch Whyy?
It is a peg hole for the armor piece.
