Ringling Brothers Circus Train and Animal Walk at Hershey
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 тра 2014
- May 19, 2014: The Ringling Brother's Barnum and Bailey Blue Circus Train heads west from New Jersey to Hershey, PA on the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Line, unloading the animals right outside of Hershey Park; the rest of the equipment unloads at Derry Road. The train departed Morrisville, PA at around 0730 and made good time, dropping off the animals just after 1330. We'll first see a run-by of the entire train at Myerstown, then watch the unloading of the animals and animal walk at Hershey, and another final run-by at Hummelstown as the remaining portion of the train heads for Harrisburg Terminal.

You might hate or love the Circus but one thing for sure is this train has a lot of history and doesen't deserve to rot away forgotten by all.

As a Zookeeper w/23 yrs in the business, I am not usually a fan of circuses and for good reason. But Ringling Bros over the yrs had a very good record of caring for their animals. Sad to see their era end.
I appreciate this kind of honest feedback. It is sad, but was surely inevitable.
The circus is going to reopen next year but without any animals
@@rondascott2 good
How about you vegans stop forcing predatory animals to eat protein substitutes. Your just as much an abused as anyone else
i'm sorry, but you're wrong. There is no way that a circus is able to care for an animal in the way that the animal would be if it were in the wild. Wild elephants walk over 20 miles a day. These elephants are forced to stand still for hours at a time and often sway back-and-forth due to going insane. They are taken from city to city and forced to perform for profit. There is no way to actually "care" these animals where they are happy.
Nice job. It seems bigger than it used to be. It's great they still do this after all the years.
They'll be running again next year. No animals because PETA killed them all (that's a sad fact for you), but that should make the human perform performances that much cooler.
I lived on that train from 1990-1991, that is the Blue Unit and there was another one called the Red unit. We signed on for 2-year tours at a time. It was an experience I'll never forget. I used to walk the Llamas to the stadiums and worked in the Pie car.
Ever have a pie fight?
@@yixnorb5971 The clowns did for sure a few times. We did a lot of things after the show at night, like hotdog eating contests and so on. I never got "pied" but it certainly happened. That is why no one knew my Birthday, hehe. Oh, as a side note the pie car JR was the food truck that went to the venues from the train. We served about 250 people there. Then the main Pie car was on the train as a whole section. We served Breakfast, lunch, and dinner 24 hours a day on train runs, limited during shows as no one but the train crew was around. Maybe you were talking about "pie fights", my bad.
How crazy my siblings and mom was one morning in Ecorse Michigan watching the circus train fly pass us on our way to school and work.
And this was when try was transporting the cages tent, and we saw a bit of prop sticking out

Awesome video!! Great catch! Makes me wish I lived down by the Harrisburg Line, I love watching the videos posted on here.
one train that we see no more .. really miss getting video of Barnum & Bailey circus train. nice video
Great scene and camera work! Very enjoyable viewing. Fantastic train. Greetings from Italy. Ciao, Stefano
I remember going to town to see them unload the trains as a kid. It was an amazing feat indeed. Sad that the Greatest Show on Earth is no more. So many memories.
Ohh it will return someday.

@@texastrainfan56 they're scheduled to return next year in the fall. No animals anymore. PETA killed them. But the Ringling circus train will hit the tracks again.
We used to love when the Circus Train came in town. I actually got a chance to work there ushering one year. I'll never forget it. It was so much fun meeting the people and getting to see their acts every day.

hello
how are you doing
I got to see the old train cars they used and even got to go in them cause where I live they were sitting behind a college not far from my house so a friend and I seen it and explored them.
Very nicely done.
My grandfather remembers when they came to town and they had around 20 elephants and he said they shook the earth when walking in a line like that! I love the circus so much just think they need to treat the animals better
Ringling never mistreated theirs. The animals were often treated better than the human workers. Abused animals won't perform, they'll attack. How the animals were initially obtained is a REAL horror story, but these specific animals were beloved pets. Family.
Those animals had the best of everything and you know what being privileged to work with Gunther Gabel-Willams and his son Mark Oliver Gabel I was witness to their love and total devotion to the animals they shared the spotlight with those abuse reports were the propaganda of the far left that today is wreaking havoc in our country S for Mr Feld and the people who carried the greatest show on earth to your back yard the owe noappologies as millions of people were privileged to see these creatures and the amazing
people who performed with them, something children of all ages will never get to see. It Is
a catastrophy to this world.
Also ringing owns a preserve for theirs animals down south
Elephant can kill if mistreated they have done it before. Also Zoos are much worse than the circus. Walk to a ape inclosure and see how sad they are.
Cool video I never saw the circus like this before
Got stopped by this or a similar R.B. & B.B. Circus train Passing through Terre Haute, IN in the early "90". Wonderful sight.

I hope this guys takes care of all animal staff.

Watch for it to hit the tracks again next year in the fall. Ringling is coming back again. Not a moment too soon. We need the clowns. there should be clowns. SEND IN THE CLOWNS!
One of those Final Shots of a true staple of American history.
I play the trombone myself, and I have studied the extensive history of bands and circus.
The fact that I've never been to the circus is even more heartbreaking for me. I'll give anything to go back to the Golden Age of the circus and play with their bands.
Not the final shot after all. They won't have animals, but Ringling will return to the tracks next year with all human shows.

Very nice video

Some of the best cared for animals in the world, especially the elephants...Ringling Brothers has made a commitment to care for their elephants for life. They will receive the best nutrition and care in the world.
your joking abusing animals is not caring for them, forcing them to sit, stand on two feet, be used as a seat, using stun gun against them and more is NOT CARING FOR THEM, using such lovely intelligent creatures like and elephants and forcing them to entertain and taking them away from there homes and family is NOT CARING FOR THEM!

because you only regurgitate what you've seen on PETA's website of 20+ year old photographs. Get real, go out and work for WBBBC. You dont know anymore than the next person.

Cecil B Demille's Greatest show on earth was a magnificent movie based on circus life. Barnum and Bailey and Ringling Bros were the leading circus companies.
good video,,never knew they still did this,,
Thanks
I used to love watching elephants perform but now I know their HEART BREAKING stories of being stolen from their families, the horror of elephant crushing, which breaks their spirit so they can be trained, force bred, beaten with bull hooks, vet care, food and water withheld, concrete ground to stand on, no sand to sleep on just to name a few.
It is time animals not be used for profit. Sea world needs to be closed.
Yes, the train and all the circus signage are classic and should be saved.

@@michaelseay3812you are an old boomer... times are changing and people are becoming more compassionate about animal welfare. Animal exploitation is not something people want to spend their money on. Get over it old timer.

It must be a logistics nightmare handling all those animals and their other equipment. I don't know how they did it for so long. The elephants are so well behaved. Amazing.

You can tell by these elephants actions/movements that they are trained like giant zombies. They don't try to interact w/ the handlers and not one time do you see a handler touch an elephant w/ affection. Compare this to Leks Elephant Nature Park films and you will see the difference.

A circus without animals si not a real circus
So cool
I would rather watch this for free than go to the show lol!
Elephant is very intelligent
They like to perform.
The animals are not abused and some of them are owned by the performers. The ones that retire go to sanctuaries because the owners of the circus love animals and want them to have good lives even after their circus days are over.
