Per Mars Hydro: For the SP 3000 and SP 6500 lights, the previous version is with IR and UV chips. Since March, we have moved the IR and UV from the SP 3000, SP 6500, and FC 6500 lights. Also, the new FC-E6500 light doesn't have IR and UV chips. The reason is that these lights' main customers are personal growers who pursue the best results or the commercial project customers; they prefer to independently control the IR and UV lights time, don't need the IR and UV chips on the light itself. Mars Hydro also will issue independent IR and UV lights in the second half of the year.
Yeah too much uv can burn them. Although it's not like they had a dedicated uv strip. Maybe they just wernt efficient
This is 💯% correct. Honestly, I’d rather have a separate UV light bar anyways at this point 🤷🏼♂️😀

just picked up two of the MARS Hydro SP300 on sale here in Canada saved a lot BLK FRI sale i am putting them in 4x4 tent i have two LIGHT SCIENCE GROW 300 each in 2x4 i am like a kid on Christmas eve waiting for delivery of the SP300s

It definitely was. Unfortunately I had to move across the province unexpectedly, so it put all my growing plans on hold. I’ve been working on a new grow room and grow videos so there will be regular updates coming soon!

…6 months later… my bad! I lost a crop to a bad spider mite infestation and found out I was moving across the province at about the same time. I’m all moved and settled now and have a new grow room built, so updates will definitely be back to a regular schedule soon!

I have 2 of these in a 4x4, they work great though mine does not have UV leds. Just so the consumer is aware they are no longer offering UV on the SP3000.
💯 correct, they removed the UV chips later in the year. I wouldn’t really worry about it not having them- they’re known to burn out faster than other LED chips so you’re probably just avoiding problems.

I am still using HPS but I definitely want to upgrade to LED this spring/summer growing season. I like the HPS for the winter to keep my grow room warm without additional heat. 🙂
I got all kinds of hps bulbs..400 600 1000..Vented hoods the big xxl..Digtal ballasts...Im totally led now 2 tsl 2000 mars amd fc E 4800
Tsw 2000..Power bill dropped 100 bucks cost me 1500 to upgrade..Have most of money back in a year..Need anything on the hps side let me no... ✌
how far away should vegetating mairijuana plants be from sp3000 growlighrs ?
When hanging the light 12-18 inches (30-45cm) above the canopy, Mars Hydro recommends the following brightness settings:
Clone stage: 30%
Germination stage: 30%
Seedling stage: 50-75%
Vegetative stage: 75-100%
Flowering stage: 100%
Question bro should I get one Mars 3000 or two 150 lights. I have a 4x4 tent.
2 Sp 3000's would be perfect for a 4x4
Sorry for the late reply on this- I had no idea I was getting all these comments until today. I would also recommend 2 x SP3000 for a 4x4. Start with one and grow with that until you can snag a second one and then you’re golden!
Can't go wrong with Mars.
A lot of people don’t like them, but I’ve been really happy with their products so far! They might not be the top of the line, but for the price I think they are absolutely fantastic.
In 2022 this has a generic driver and no UV.
I know the UV is gone, but the model I got in 2022 still has a meanwell driver. That was early this year, have they switched to a generic one now?
