- B.B.King was a regular guest at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. This outstanding concert with his Blues Band was recorded live on 13th July 1985 at the tenth edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival.
Riley B. King (September 16, 1925 - May 14, 2015), known professionally as B.B. King, was an American blues singer, electric guitarist, songwriter, and record producer. King introduced a sophisticated style of soloing based on fluid string bending and shimmering vibrato that influenced many later electric blues guitarists like Eric Clapton and Keith Richards.
King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and is considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, earning the nickname "The King of the Blues".
This recording was made by AVRO Television in the Congresgebouw, the Hague, The Netherlands on 13 July 1985.
It features Leon Warren on guitar.

I actually went to this edition of the NSJF. If it weren't for these videos. I wouldn't remember any of it
Cool .. never expected to see/hear this concert again in other format than my cassette recording in front of the tv set.
This is the (extra) concert BB King did to support to be LiveAid benefit to raise money to fight acute famine in Africa. As this was a kind of last decision by mr King (just a few days in advance of the event), the house was not sold out as you can see. Nevertheless, King did an exceptional show. Only an excerpt of the show was broadcasted (starting from part of " when it all comes down" till "Rock me Baby" )
This is one my favorite BB King shows and still regret that I did not attend the show (at the time I was just 14 years old :) ).

@@PeterDad60No, I agree with James on this; the bass guitar and kick drum are too loud in the mix...I am listening with nice external speakers with a bass bin...The OVERALL level isn't that bad, it's just a whack mix. Sounds like a hip hop fan was at the board.

Kijk even vanaf 26:20. BBK legt dan uit dat ze wereldwijd op TV komen. Dat was in het kader van de Live Aid Actie georganiseerd door Bob Geldof van de Boomtown Rats. Dit vond plaats op 13 juli 1985. Dus waar heb je het over?
