When we built the 20’ high, twin tripod, top tripod inverted platform to survive floods, with spars (tapered 6”-12” diameter) using 1” rope, my old Scoutmaster Doug Stone always insisted on us using frappings to tighten and space the gaps between the spars. He also never let us cut rope or use a knot that couldn’t be undone :-)
Who said anything about not being able to undo the knot? I like the idea of not cutting your cordage but in reality if you have plenty of supply then it's not practical. You can always make more cordage - video on that coming soon ;)

I have seen Stone's way of lashing, but do you think this guy's way would be sufficient for a pole bean tripod in a garden?
