dunno if you have gotten this info yet but, British shillings are old currency which can no longer be exchanged. The 50ps are modern, and worth about 1/2 dollar each. The Churchill 5 shillings is a commemorative coin which should be worth at least 10 or 20 bucks. The big round silver coin in the unidentified pile was Eire which is Ireland. Fun haul :)
I bought a storage unit for a little over 1400 dollars and in it found 120 purses, in each purse I found cash and coins totaling $342.53 along with forever stamps at the market value of the time over 100 dollars worth. I ended up with a profit of around 7k off that unit. I miss those days
when you find money first be careful with crisp notes they are worth more to a collector in crisp condition never folded and then check the dates. I was surprised you never checked the dates. Some coins could be silver if its old enough. I pay double face value for crisp notes and if the are 1960's and older than that is worth a lot more than double. Do not drop coins on crisp notes you could have messed up collector values doing that.
Hey, just wanted to let you know, exchange rates change daily. When I lived in Germany, we would hold onto, at that time, pounds, tell the exchange taste was high. It was like selling stocks, lol
I feel that storage unit belonged to a commercial artist, probably cartoons or fantasy. The money was leftover from foreign trips due to conventions or vacations.
Nice man once u get the American money in exchange, everything else is free. You picked a good one. I didnt get a decent one until my third unit but i made a small amount on my first two, like only $20 lol. Its not hard to make money off units as long as you dont bid some ridiculous amount
Plz bring them to like a coin show cause some older coins can be worth more money it’s like how a us dime is worth 10¢ but a us dime from 1964 or older is worth $1+ so some can be rare and worth more it’s worth a shot to see
Most of these notes and coins you have here, are withdrawn from circulation and you cannot exchange them anymore in USD (you can sell them on eBay as bulk). The only exchangeable currency are the Canadian $/ cents (not the old pennies because they are worth in numismatic value) + Mexican pesos, + the UK 1 pound & 4x50 pences (not the pre-decimal ones, the Shillings, etc).
8:53 I can see old Irish coins (we use Euro now) the Silver one with the deer is £1 ‘punt’, I can also see three gold 20p coins, they have a horse on them
Unfortunately your Indian rupees are probably the old ones not in use anymore. You can get perhaps few dollars from the places which change leftover currency.
uk person here the £1 is no longer in circulation (it now has silver and gold) the 50p yes is half £1 (uk you have about £2.12 ) of any use..... the shilling and pound are good for collectors check the back of the pound some are rare. £1=100p
I am sorry man, all those 1000 and 500 bills of Indian Rupees have been demonitised by the government as of November, 2016. Also, holding them in large quantities is a criminal offence now. So burn them for better, they are a burden to carry.
The more I'm watching the video and your total.......you should sell money in single lists! You will make more money as a novelty or to "money collectors". Think out of the box☺ Update please🤞
I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but check with a local coin collector before cashing them out. There may be some worth more than face value even in the used condition. Also there ate many people that collect unique coins that you may be able to list them local and get double what the face value is.
If those old Irish 20p coins are from 1985 they are worth about €5000 each. They're probably not though because they only made 500 with 1985 on them. You'd better check just in case.
Well done you scored the old 50p we used to call 10 bob which was 10 shilling when i was a kid and 2 equal £1.I've enjoyed watching your storage unit adventure you had awesome luck on your 1st even with the fact Pam was well Pissed. We dont really have them to buy here in the UK.All the best.
Hey guys, I got the email back I sent you because I made a mistake in the address but I sent you another one yesterday from my other email account. I am still interested in buying one of your drawings from that storage unit. What a wonderful profit in cash , you did amazing, especially considering it is your first time buying a unit ! Congrats!!
Eire is Ireland. hope this helps. UK coins. 1971 Feb Britain went to decimalisation of their coinage. before that date they had pounds shillings and penny's. After decimalisation Penny's became new pence, shillings disappeared and pounds were worth 100 new pence instead of 240 penny's. It all changed whilst I was in school after years learning math regarding currency they changed it . You have every right to be confused Ryan I still am and I live here. ;)
I'm Canadian and I collect coins you have a Canadian coin which is a $0.01 piece old design looks to be the early 1900s too late 1800s could be worth $10-$20 I personally have a few of them I would buy it off of you
Hi! The Asian coins are Japanese 5 yen and 50 Sen. The Canadian King George V large cent is collectible and the Mexican 10 peso bi-metallic coin has a sterling Centre (they did that for a short time not too long ago). Cool finds! CP
hard day when you find out someone else has higher valued money than yours. lol i could hear the shock in her voice. not going to lie, it did make me smile.
I'm from the UK. We don't use shillings anymore 😂 the 1£ coin you have is out of circulation now but can be exchanged at Banks! The 50p you have are also old as there very thick compared to what we have now but still can be used! Great find!
Check out the Churchill coin guys UK money depending on year it could be worth a little bit. I think all other UK coins are out of circulation but if you sell them on Ebay you could get more than their original value from collectors. Great find. 👍😃
I'm British too, the shillings are not used any more and the 50ps are the old larger style which are no longer in circulation so only the £1 and 2p (£1.02) are still exchangeable.
Hello, I am from Egypt, and there are canceled currencies, and these coins were owned by the collector of coins, and you must sell them all, to collect the coins.
That big silver coin with the harp on it is a really old english coin. That £1 and the shilling coins are no longer in use so you can no longer use them to spend.
That large canadian penny wasnt likely canadian, unless it was really old...im thinking it was british though... i havent watched to end of video yet either, just at half way lol
There is no monetary value in those English shillings. Any coin in England/UK that is not copper, was up until 1947 made containing silver so there could be slight value there. That one pound coin may have some value to a collector if it has A back design but the round pounds are no longer legal tender in the UK. I have put a link for you to look at for these designs. Sadly the only English coins of monetary value, appear to be the fifty pence pieces and the two and ten pence pieces. But even then without seeing them in the flesh it is difficult to say. as our ten pences and 50 pences went through some changes and new coins introduced. The Italian coins are the same as they now use the Euro and not Liras. the Korean 1,000 won is worth about 7 dollars and the rupees have little value in comparison to £s & $s. I could be wrong. about the worth of the rupees but it's around £1=100 rupees. I know this is over a year old now but if ever you want help with English coins in future, Gimme a shout. I do a bit of amateur coin collecting. The 1965 Churchill coin is with up to £300. Depending on condition! so that alone could be a very good find. www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/coin-design-and-specifications/one-pound-coin/
True Canada No Longer Produces/Uses Pennies .. But Unless It Is A VERY OLD PENNY Or A Centennial Penny, ( One That Has 2 Years On It One The Side With The Queens Face ) Or A Special Edition Penny, That Came Out On A Certain Year To Celebrate Something Special/Meaningfull That Happened In Canada, & Has A Different Picture On It Besides The Maple Leaf ( It Will Always Have The Queen On The One Side...Thats Where You Will Find The Double Years & The Queen Looks Will Change On A Centennial Penny) Sadly The Penny Isn't Worth Anything Other Wise . WELL, That's Not True ... A Lot Of Canadian's Have Been Using Them For Their Counter Tops & Floors & Table Tops & Bar Tops , Or Back Splashes. It Looks Really Cool .. But Takes A Really, Really Long Time To Do . 🤣🤣LOL😂😂
Correct, we don’t use pennies anymore. In most cases it’s recommended, you bring them into your local bank. But they can actually we swapped out at a change machine for dimes or nickels. :)
@@jupitertations8125 i would not think so. as there are millions and millions of pennies floating around. consider how many are in a jar, a piggy bank, in a couch, the laundry room......the list is endless. i myself have about 400 of them in a jar that my wife and kids use for bingo night lol. every canadian has hundreds of them in their house. maybe in 200 years you could triple your money lol
The one with the hole coin probably a korean coin, but the italian coin try to change it to coin collector because in italy they used euro nowadays no more that coins can be worth it
We don't use shillings anymore. 50pence is half of £1. That's an old £1coin, its not worth anything. I would try coin collectors. Never seen the Churchill coin before 🏴
The Italian money is lira, There used to be 20s to the pound(old money) in the English money but since decimilisation in 1971 there are 100pennies in the pound. We were in Europe till the end of January but we never adopted the Euro.
Came across you're Channel randomly nearly watched all you're videos so far keep up the content lockdown in UK just got more tolerable thank you both guys.
Hope you learned you shouldn't surprise Pam with "we bought a storage locker" first thing in the morning lol. Congratulations again on your first locker.
wanted to comment before I got 20 seconds in and hope I was wrong with a previous assessment of the foreign currency ... if the Canadian penny is a 1937 with a dot below the date it is very valuable FYI post watch edit - congrats and yes on the learning experience. Please update us when you find out how much the bank charges to exchange it. :)
good luck changing your coins guys most are old currency and if notes are current the exchange rates fluctuate daily and tourist rates depend on who you use to exchange with but good score anyway.
I just came across this video and wanted to let you know that the 500 Rupee notes which you are counting at 2:38 have been put out of circulation by the Indian Government in 2016 and replaced with new 500 Rupee notes. So those old notes which you are holding is of no exchange value currently and also the period of exchanging them for new notes has long been expired (they might be of numismatic value). The other Indian currencies which you have in this video is very much in circulation today. I don't know if this information is of any use to you since this video is more than a year old.

Hey Ryan, the coin with the stag on it isn’t Turkish. It’s Irish. It’s the old Irish £1 coin. It hasn’t been in circulation since early 2002!
Sorry Bro, but most of them are no longer in circulation, like British coins . But you can sell them on ebay as mixed currency ..
Almost the same comment as mine. 😆
Ya that one Canadian penny looked like one of the first pennies in circulation back 100 years ago...it's worth a lot more than 1 cent!
The one with the Stag on the front is an old Irish Pound coin pre €uro coins. Anything with a harp on the back is Irish ☘️
I feel that storage unit belonged to a commercial artist, probably cartoons or fantasy. The money was leftover from foreign trips due to conventions or vacations.

That's what is so great about storage units... It forces you to learn about different niches
Almost any U.S. international airport has a foreign currency exchange, at current exchange rates. No fee for above
I love that it pays for your storage unit. Sorry, Pam, there will have to be more now :) congrats guys.

Canada quit making pennies a few years ago so might be a collector who wants it 😀😀
True that.
That old Canadian penny was worth about 15 dollars to a collector and some of the coins were silver and worth 20 dollars for 3 coins
Most of these notes and coins you have here, are withdrawn from circulation and you cannot exchange them anymore in USD (you can sell them on eBay as bulk).

It would be interesting to know why the original owner had such a variation of money. Thks for sharing.
Maybe a traveler?
Yes a traveler, for . Business ?
there are some Facebook groups for coin collectors people trade and sell ect
uk person here the £1 is no longer in circulation (it now has silver and gold) the 50p yes is half £1 (uk you have about £2.12 ) of any use..... the shilling and pound are good for collectors check the back of the pound some are rare. £1=100p

The coolest 4!

Hello, I am from Egypt, and there are canceled currencies, and these coins were owned by the collector of coins, and you must sell them all, to collect the coins.
I was waiting for this one! I thought you'd have a lot more, but still not bad at all, paid for the unit and then some!
It's valuable to coin and notes collectors if the actual money is not good enough!
The Churchill coin I believe is a collector coin
That was alot of fun to watch. Congrats. From Iowa. Julie
The Canadian penny that is bigger is a very old penny. It may be worth more.
The uk pound coin is an old one not in circulation anymore........
Ooh old coins! Some that you didn't know we're irish.

Exchange fees don't go to bank usually high fees.

Thanks!!!!
The 500 Rs notes are demonteized by India and dont carry any value as of now.
That £1 is no longer in use in UK. No we don't use the euro in UK but they use euro in Ireland
Awesome video. Poor Pam. Get rid of that clutter Ryan!! love the videos
Hope you learned you shouldn't surprise Pam with "we bought a storage locker" first thing in the morning lol.

Shillings are old currency probably collectors coins as well
Italy used to use the Liera (or something that sounds like that)
The british shillings are not used anymore so basically just collectable
Yup eBay the rest of the old coins in a lot.
Dude you realise UK doesn't use shillings. I'm 42 and shillings were gone when I was born. 🤣🤘
Can't beat that with a bat 👊👍
Take em to a coin shop
The churchill crown may have more value than 5 shillings because of its age but any shillings will be worthless because it is no longer iuk currency
I'm from Canada and we no longer have Penny's
The coins the bank do not Exchange, not in my country!
I believe all these old European monies are now converted into Euros!?
The british 50pence and £1 coin no longer in circlation worthless the shillings are from the 1950s 60s and contain 90% silver
you had more that £2 in English money you has £1 and 3. 50p thats £3.50 then you had the other money aswell xx
west-german & irish coins
