Came across 1st for fabrics a year or two back whilst baby sitting my grandson from Gosforth. I hail from ashington but now live in Darlington. I was stunned by their shop and like you couldn't stop stroking the fabrics. At the time I did tell them they needed as website and I'm so pleased that they now have one. I miss not calling in. My baby sitting day is a Monday and they are now closed on a Monday so the website makes up for it. Just found you and I have enjoyed watching your vlog. 😘
How lovely to discover you on You Tube Tamlyn! I canny Geordie lass who loves sewing! I have been sewing for over 50 years (so you can guess how old I am!) inheriting the skill from my mother. Sadly so many of our fabric shops have closed in Newcastle so First for Fabrics is a fantastic find in our area. Went to 1st for Fabrics in January coming back home (Edinburgh) from a wee break in Northumberland. It's a treasure trove and I'm planning my trip down again at one point! ekkk! Also I wasn't a huge fan of animal print but now i'm very converted - woop wooop!!
I entered the sewing challenge in Feb and loved being involved. I bought fabric for the metallic but didn’t manage post in time. I’m definitely going into the animal print. I’m not into traditional animal print but will find something. I’m local to 1st for Fabrics and love what they do. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing. X

I made something for metallic march but didn't manage to photograph my top in time. I made a self drafted top out of Atelier Brunette Stardust double gauze in Night. I'm a huge fan of metallics so it was a good one for me. I'm not so into animal prints. Haven't found a way of wearing them that I think will suit me.

With your special scuba fabric, I think you should go for culottes, but make a detachable bib so you can wear them as dungarees!

Gorgeous fabric haul! What about the Abi Jumpsuit by Athina Kakou for the scuba crepe or another jumpsuit - would be amazing in that fabric!
