The fabric godmother under the sea collection is so gorgeous. I still think about it. However, with shipping and duties I just couldn't justify it. So I will vicariously be living through everyone who have been sewing these up!
I made that jumpsuits years ago when I first started sewing. I think I made 2 versions and i really liked it. I think Angela (Devonthreadtails) has made it or maybe recently mentioned it.
Lovely video and fabric choices, Tamlyn! I have made the Simplicity pattern in both the halter dress and romper. Angela (Devon thread tales) made it a while ago and I took her advice of changing the slit from the front to the sides. I will make the dress again, but I don’t think I will have the seam down the back. I don’t think it’s necessary. I also, might cut the skirt a little wider for a flowy effect. The romper is one of my favorites, but be sure to put the neck tie on your shoulder because tying it in the back is a pain when you need to get in and out of it (if you know what I mean 😉). The Fabric Godmother under the sea fabric would look great in the Simplicity halter dress. I know you might hesitate to make it straight away but I can see it being an easy pattern for you to get the fit right. It’ll look great on you! Happy sewing! 💖
Looking forward to seeing your twinny with the little patches and the seaside fabric. I have that jumpsuit pattern. Not hot around to sewing it yet, so im interested to read the comments about it. I think your gorgeous blue & white fabric would make a lovely jumpsuit of some kind. I love the knitted cable fabric, can't wait to see what you sew with that too.
I made the jumpsuit early in my sewing journey in a similar fabric to what is shown and it was quite a roomy fit. had to adjust quite a bit the bodice to fit and the trousers made me look like a clown. Refit the pattern and made it in a cotton lawn and it was a really nice fit. A very easy to make. Im sure the dress will not have the same fit dilemmas but would recommend
Such an amazing collection if fabrics 😊. I made the dress version of the simplicity pattern from magazine last summer. Very happy with it. You certainly would make a smashing version I know 🎉
Gorgeous fabrics and fun labels! That last beachy fabric I see wide leg trousers. The blue block print would make a pretty skirt, like the one you are wearing, topped with a jean jacket, perfect for the fall.
soooo lovely to see your haul from the last few weeks. The Indian block print is gorgeous and so your colour. I hope you can get some of the coastal inspired fabrics sewn up in time, I'm willing you on. Have a wonderful holiday 🌊❤💙☀🌅
Lovely collection of fabric-love all of the sea themed ones. The blue floral would make a pretty Ella skirt. Why not use view D to toile the Simplicity jumpsuit? There’s probably a sewalong for the Mimi G jumpsuit on her channel. Happy sewing, Tamlyn.
Definitely make the jumpsuit. I have made the v neck version in a lovely jersey, I widened the legs and lived in it since making it. Am going to make the version you were looking at. Check sizing though as I sized down. ❤
Love all the fabrics, I think the jumpsuit would look great, toile the playsuit and see how that goes. Can't wait to see the twinning. Happy Sewing to you, oh yes on the salt water and shirt....lol
Hello. Re simplicity jumpsuit pattern. I made it the maxi dress version and I believe @devonthreadtails has also. I can highly recommend. Quick and easy make. I found the arm hole a bit gapey but that could just be my poor fitting. I'd say keep it 😊
Andrea from Beyond the pink door hacked that jumpsuit into a top as well. I loved the result. I don't remember when she shared that. It was a year or two back.
ooh why not try the jumpsuit in the gorgeous blue Indian cotton? Also love the fab sea themed sweatshirt, love the idea of matching tops with Taylor! Also off to check out the fabric godmother fabric as I also love shells!!
Lots of lovely fabric and labels, thanks for sharing Tamlyn. If you don’t already you should listen to sew what’s new in the biscuit tin podcast, their latest episode is all about over committing 😂 🧶🌈🍓💙
Fabulous to see your joy with your new fabrics and labels 😍. The blue floral from Rainbow fabrics would make a lovely Andi set- and it is a quick sew. Good Luck with all your plans . Happy Sewing to you too. 😊. Lynne
Thank you for being someone who mentions P. It makes me cry happy tears every time. If everyone spoke out even just a little it would make it so much safer for everyone who is doing so.
This is the third KATM advent calendar, there wasn’t one last year (but my first was only the year before, so I got the first one and opened it last year!) This year’s arrived this week, I didn’t get quite such a bargain as you though!

Wow, that is some fabric haul, amazing. You have chosen some beautiful fabrics, look forward to seeing what you decide to make first.😊
Many thanks Tamlyn 😊

I made the simplicity but hacked it into a top with the SHJ supplement fabric in the pink chiffon and love it 😊

Rachels fabric would make a great Ella skirt 😍

Gorgeous haul - lovely pieces! Ha ha the bloopers at the end - class!
If I am not mistaken, Michelle @Sewing Bunny has made that jumpsuit before. It’s a beautiful pattern, and I believe you would look great in it.
Andrea from Beyond the pink door hacked that jumpsuit into a top as well. I loved the result. I don't remember when she shared that. It was a year or two back.

Lots of lovely fabric and labels, thanks for sharing Tamlyn. If you don’t already you should listen to sew what’s new in the biscuit tin podcast, their latest episode is all about over committing 😂 🧶🌈🍓💙
I have made the dress withe that neckline but Angela (Devon Threadtales) has made the jumpsuit I do believe. It's a great pattern.
