Hey, would you be able to film a video on how to 'speak' to people? What I mean is we're never really taught how to actually write emails so would you be able to give us advice on how to actually phrase questions such as referrals? What do you actually write on LinkedIn messages? Thanks!

I've been tossing my resume around for what feels like forever! I've been working for the same company through high school and college mostly because the hours were super flexible and they were able to work with me around my class schedule but I just graduated last month! I don't really have much of an idea of where I want to end up, and at this point my main concern is paying the bills and paying off my student loan. It is super stressful, and I've certainly maxed out my room for growth within my current company. Hopefully I'll land a new job soon! Need positive vibessss

Number 9 applied to me - I studied business and two foreign languages at university and had spent time living in each country those languages are spoken. Turned out the hiring manager for a job at a company I have always wanted to work at lived in the country of one of the languages while working for this company and has descent from the other and also speaks that language. I had a lot in common with the manager before I even got to the interview. it wasn't the only reason I was hired, but the point Katherine makes about working with this person 40 hours a week and can I get along with them is definitely relevant. I ticked that box with an advantage.

Finding a job right after college isn't just about qualifications. It's about trust.
Once you meet the minimum standard of a few internships and a good enough GPA, everything comes down to whether you seem like someone who can learn quickly and like someone who has worked well with others in the past.
If you can get people, especially those who know hiring managers at companies that you want to work, to vouch for your ability to learn quickly and ability to work with others, you'll be miles ahead.
Hence why having a large network matters. The more people you know within an industry (especially people who have a reputation and/or have been in that industry for years), the better because chances are you might end up interviewing at a company where there's someone who knows someone who can vouch for you.

I do like your video is very helpful but one thing I don't like is how in order to find a job it seems that you have to ask for a favor or be "creep" about it even with degree etc.. It supposed to be equal opportunity I don't know the U.S. promotes a lot that side of fairness and the 5M jobs.

Can you give more information about what referrals are, how to get them, and why they work?

I just graduated college in April. I am going into the medical field. I have never had a job because. I have been getting so many job interviews, but no job offers yet. I need your advice.

Hey! I was wondering if you by any chance still have that excel spreadsheet you made? I’m having trouble with formatting.

Hey Katherine, I got a Q. I'm participating in a study abroad this summer for 6 weeks in spain which has really cut into prime internship time. I was wondering what is your advice on how to get job experience while being in a foreign country as I am a junior?

i would recommend interning during the semester after the summer then if there are any companies near your campus!
