Bitterness and unforgiveness are toxic emotions. As Christians we are called to hand these over. I lay these at the foot of the cross where we are to lay our burdens and our sins down. That was the purpose of the cross.
Trials are just making me more miserable and I'm trying to live right. Seems like I keep messing up, I want to be calm. I need God's help. And your prayers.

God has given us Grace and new Mercy each and every day so give yourself grace. It could be very difficult when you're trying to do something the world is full of Temptation so while we can't make excuses we must be gentle with ourselves and have compassion and Grace in ourselves. May God give you the self-control and self-discipline and increase your emotional intelligence on whatever else you need every minute in Jesus name amen and since you're coming with two years ago what has happened since? After being married for 40 years, I have discovered that all the the psychological and verbal abuse I have endured was because I was married to a narcissist. Now I want out but I am unsure of what to do. Please pray for me.

GET out to freedom but be prepared as you might have to build a new life separated from many people as the N will then attack more and attempt to ruin all your relationships. If you have any left as is. Being alone is MUCH better then living with satan!
God did that for you. Praise God everything he does is great like killing babies and starting wars.

I'm fighting to stop a root of resentment t'wards a person I've known for 35years. The reality, though, is I'm the one who has allowed this person in and out of my life ... So, who's the fool? Me... She is who she is; I accept her and love her unconditionally ... but that doesn't mean she needs to be in my inner circle or my day2day... I love to hear from individuals who have made it to the other side of unforgiveness and bitterness. She is invaluable to the Body of Christ. I for one appreciate her ministry. I know that feelings, emotions and negative thoughts are a stumbling block for me. when I focus on the Cross, things are much easier and I can let things go. Thank God for this Christ centered practical ministry.

I pray that you have the strength, mind, ability, and desire to do to HIM directly, and choose to ask HIM for ANYTHING that you may need, want, or desire in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And that you do so WITHOUT shame, fear, guilt, embarrassment, and torment in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And that you see HIM as a GOD that TRULY love, free, heals, and forgive in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And that you choose to surrender to HIM and HIM alone in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen and Amen and Amen and Amen and Amen.
You can simply just talk to Jesus, like you are talking to a friend or what have you. Prayer can be and is a form/way of having a conversation with GOD, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I pray that you choose to truly and really see HIM for who and what HE REALLY IS IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH. AMEN AND AMEN AND AMEN AND AMEN AND AMEN.

Bitterness has made me relapse 3x I lost my partner and family. She says theres no trust 3 strikes your out. I HAVE ASKED GOD TO CHANGE ME THROUGH HIM.

Key word. There's an inner work to be done in us that only Jesus can do.
God can if you let him do it. Let Jesus in. Giving your life to Christ is the first step.
Then constantly soak yourself with the word of God.

I grew up going through a bunch of social trauma in crucial developmental times of my life along with a TBI from a brain tumor at the age of 5. I'm 30 and work around a bunch of nurses who i cant stop comparing my life to and they seem to have it all and all they talk about is babies, kids, vacations, marriages, boyfriends, husbands, etc. and i get so bitter and angry everytime i hear them talking but i dont want to be that way. I feel so helpless since my brain is so programed to go into shame, bitterness, anger, resentment and sadness everytime any of those subjects come up. I could tell myself that there are people with much less in their lives but my brain will find a way to argue why my life is going to hell regardless. Please. I dont want to be this way anymore.

Have joy. Have peace. Be THANKFUL knowing that, despite your "bodily feelings" at the moment, your are saved. You are protected. You are going to inherit the most blessed of existence that a person could experience.
Yes, we ARE here. Yes, we ARE experiencing this life now. But if you seek God you can be blessed in this life while ALSO being filled with joy for your eternal future.

From going from a very socialable person active happy positive had bad accident didn't know what ud be going through just because I ended up in the dark negative side all the doctor visits of failed pain injections nerve burning couldn't get the help for pain relief to help be semi active will shine through it's been a very hard. Challenging road

My husband and I have been together for 9 years and almost the whole time, we've had nothing but strife. A lot of verbal and emotional abuse. Over the years, I've grown to be very bitter toward him and I have a strong resentment toward him. I've lost most of my love for him. I'm miserable every day. I'm praying for this bitterness and resentment to go away. It's rubbing off on my step son

I need to fix my attitude. I am so mean and negative… that I have barely any friends. To my defense, I have been mentally and emotionally and physically abused for 35 years from different ppl.
Took so much time to realize and some more to fix.
I don't think you're mean and negative. I just think you're really hurting on the inside. I totally understand. Years and years of constant continuous pain can do that to a person I should know. This relative of mine has been doing the same exact thing! She shows horrible treatment towards me, jealousy, harsh treatment, but when it comes to the rest of the family, it's always an excuse why she does what she do. It's always she's the black sheep of the family, which is not true. She has this vindictive way of doing things to people and turning them off and then when they don't want to be around her for her negative bad actions she plays the victim.
Like you, I'm tired of it! So you're not being mean or negative, I just think you're tired of the constant continuous nonsense of pain and people attacking you! I know exactly how it feels. When you forgive and forgive and then they turn around and do the same evil wicked thing again and again, you eventually get tired of it!
Just know that you are not alone when it comes to people attacking you. I know what you feel like. This relative has been playing this victim / attacker role for over 30 years. She's the attacker but plays the victim.
I don't think you're mean and negative, I just think you're hurt and you got a wall up to make sure you don't get hurt again.
The only way out is through Jesus. The only way to be healed is through Christ.
I love Jesus with all my heart, but I am still human with human feelings and human emotions and I need him to deliver all of us who was wronged in this way.
I pray that we both get internal healing and that all bitterness and resentment be removed from our hearts and replaced with love and peace.
Sometimes I wonder if bitterness and anger is a sign that people are being pressured into taking things God never intended for them to have to take, like being pressured into staying in a relationship with an abuser or adulterer. Often, while being blamed for someone else's actions to justify pressuring someone to endure things that make God angry when we could be helping someone get relief from that situation instead. Or how about pressuring people to just pray about mental illness? Some suffering comes from people being misguided and we don't have to listen to them. People who are deliberately hurting others repeatedly need to hold themselves accountable for their own actions. If they are not doing that, you are not required to take their abuse. If you are hurting mentally or physically, seek whatever treatment can help you find some relief while praying. Don't let others who would seek treatment if they were in your shoes make you feel bad for doing so.
