im sure you could altho it would sound different but... what do you think of this kinds of covers in acoustic violin? im learning lots of different instruments my only talent is to learn fast... and im going to start violin in a few weeks... i guess in about a year of practice i will be able to play some shred(not at your level tho... i bet that would take years for anyone no matter how fast someone can be at learning music) and i was thinking about making a band with a classical guitar player and a percussionist with a peruvian "cajón"(its like a box)... the idea is to make a wattered down version of metal and rock songs in completly acoustic instruments... ive seen the higher register of the violin usually sound a bit odd when players are not as experienced... and i was wondering what kind of advices could you give to a future violin player to prepare for rock covers on acoustic... like... if i should concentrate in any specific technique or position of the violin, or if i have to worry about something else related to the other instruments... for example... if i play a duet in piano and someone else is playing a smaller instrument like guitar or violin... i should try not to play too loud so the other instrument can be heard...
sorry about the long comment, love your videos

Well, thank you for your comment! Sounds like you are up to some fun! What can I say? I am actually working solely with an acoustic violin right at the moment, playing the current top-100 hits. Just haven't filmed any videos yet. So yeah, I am familiar with playing my Shred style with many different types of music. Obviously if playing with other players you most likely will be using amplification. And that's how you prepare - a volume pedal to lower your sound during the rhythm parts, and raising it when playing a solo. Plus - all the effects, compressor and most importantly EQ to separate the frequencies from all other instruments. That way - each instrument will have its own space. As for how long it takes to learn - I don't know. I am self-taught, so there you go! )
