Tillamook Creamery |Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad | Restaurants, Breweries & Netarts Bay RV Resort

- We are on the Oregon Coast staying in Tillamook, Oregon for a few nights at the Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort with a gorgeous view of the bay. We visit restaurants, breweries, cheese factories, a lighthouse and go for a ride on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad.
After we check into the RV resort, we head over to Werner Beef & Brew. There we were pleasantly surprised on how much they had to offer. Not only were they a brewery and full restaurant, but they were also a meat market. We sampled margaritas, tacos, beers and had a bloody Mary loaded up with some of Werner's own meat!
The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad was a great end to the first day in Tillamook. We drove to Rockaway Beach to board the excursion train that follows along the bay for 8 miles up and 8 miles back.
Starting our second day we have lunch at the Bay City Fish Peddler for some fresh seafood and a few beers. They sell all of their seasonings, sauces, mixes and together with the fresh seafood you can take it all home to enjoy.
De Garde Brewery is perhaps our most favorite brewery. They specialize in wild ales, farmhouse ales and many flavored barrel-aged beers. We could not choose which one for a pint...so we went with a small pour of each of them to sample what they had to offer. We will always consider this brewery in our top 10 of the Pacific Northwest.
Blue Heron is our first stop on cheese row. Located on HWY 101, the Blue Heron French Cheese Company not only specializes in fine Brie cheese, but it's also a petting zoo, candy shop and gift shop that you can taste wines, have a meal at one of the food trucks and relax in the courtyard. This makes a perfect stop for a family passing through.
Just up the road from the Blue Heron is the Tillamook Creamery. Here you can witness the making of their famous cheese from start to finish. You can go on a self-guided tour or book a guided one. Either way you'll see the process and be able to sample their most popular cheeses and try their delicious ice-cream.
The Cape Meares Lighthouse is only 15 minutes from the Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort. We grab the doggies and head to Cape Meares. Here we visit the historic lighthouse and view the "Octopus Tree". Spectacular views of the Oregon Coast are all along the walk from the lighthouse to the parking lot.
Finishing up the evening, we dine at The Schooner. Just a short walk from the RV resort, we have cocktails and a meal of a calamari salad and crab mac & cheese. Hand crafted cocktails and excellent service made the perfect end to a wonderful visit to the coast.

The dogs looked like they were enjoying soaking up the sun in the front of the RV. Liked seeing the railroad and the ice cream tasting. The drinks you got at the end looked fantastic too.

That sounds wonderful Ron can do some work on the farm and I will watch with a cocktail! Truth is we dont and cant eat and drink like this. Truth is before Seattle we went 44 days no alcohol and verry little carbs lots of fasting after Seattle we went 30 days before the next trip then 28 before the next trip and this time I think it will be around 35 days. Of course our heavy duty travels and Rving is coming up from end of May through September then we only get about a week or two in between fun we are trying to work on balancing the food and fun but boy it is so fun! Our fur babies are good little travelers and they take such good care of us. We always love all your comments hope we can travel with you one day! Another gem! I remember i first visited Tilamook with my mom back in the 60's on our way to Hood River. They were doing tours of the cheese factory even back then - but boy has it improved! We took the kids back there almost 20 years ago, and so now with your video we have a pretty good perspective on the changes it has seen. Those bloody marys looked so good we will definitely remember when we go back😀. And the eats and beer in general looked so good. Loved that lighthouse too! Such a pretty view from there. You guys did a great job capturing this and really like your drone work in the front and how you edited the intro. Safe travels !

Werner Beef and Brew looks fabulous. That chowder loaded with clams, everything looks scrumptious. I remember visiting the Tillamook Cheese Factory and spending all day in there. But it was FUNNY! with you two 🤣🤣 Your comments along the way are priceless. The sampler ice cream is perfect.

That Bloody Mary was a meal in a glass, The margarita's looked awesome as well. Did Ron have to school the engineer? The Fish Peddler...OMG our favorite. This brings back such great memories of our travels there...what an awesome place to have so close to you!!
Ron had a great time with the engineer and he said he was a great guy! I am always trying to convince Ron to do something like this part time in a great location when he retires but we will see. Yes all the places is this video were fantastic and cant wait to have you join us again!

Love Tillamook cheese, I don’t think I’ve had their other products though. I had no idea the factory was in Oregon! The milking the cow segment 😂😂😂. Loved the ice cream flight. Yum! But the cocktails are always my fav and I will take them for dessert any day. 👍 Great HH!
